Avoid – Misleading UK Website and Awful Returns Process

I ordered two grounding sheets and two grounding mats from WellNatura after finding their .co.uk website, which appears to be a UK company selling in GBP. The products that arrived were poor quality and not as described.

When I contacted them to return the items, I was told I could either keep them for a 30% refund or pay £30–£50 to return them to China - despite the site being UK-branded. They later admitted in writing that they have no UK return address and that all returns must be sent to China.

This is completely unacceptable and misleading to UK consumers. It’s also a breach of UK Consumer Law. I’ve now had to raise a dispute with my card provider to recover my money.

Be warned - this company is not what it appears to be, and returning items is made deliberately difficult.

UPDATED: Reply to the business 23.10.25:

Thanks for the reply, Michelle - but let’s be honest: your message doesn’t actually address anything I raised. It’s the same generic script used to make your business sound legitimate while avoiding the real issue.

Here’s the truth for anyone reading this: WellNatura is not a UK company. Their own “Return Policy” page shows the business is registered in Hong Kong (Happy Cart Limited, RM 509 5/F THE CLOUD 111, HK) - yet they trade under a .co.uk website, price everything in GBP, and write in UK English. That gives the clear impression they’re a UK-based business, which is misleading to UK consumers and potentially breaches UK consumer protection law.

The “returns” policy itself is just as deceptive. It vaguely says customers are “responsible for their own shipping costs” without clearly stating that returns must be sent to China until after you’ve paid. And for the record, “just because you write a returns policy” it doesn’t allow you to circumvent or attempt to circumvent UK Consumer Law when you’re selling through a UK-facing website.

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 and the Consumer Rights Act 2015, UK customers have clear rights:

- Goods must be of satisfactory quality
- You have 14 days to cancel for any reason
- Retailers must make returns practical and proportionate for UK customers

Forcing buyers to pay £30–£50 to ship items back to China - to a company pretending to be UK-based - is not “policy,” it’s obstruction.

Their “90-day satisfaction guarantee” sounds generous, but it’s just marketing spin that quietly replaces your real legal protections with their own terms - another red flag.

So no, Michelle, stating something on your website doesn’t make it lawful or transparent. What WellNatura is doing is misleading, non-compliant, and unfair to UK customers.

Anyone considering buying from this company - don’t. You’ll be dealing with poor-quality products, vague refund promises, and an overseas return process designed to make you give up.

UK buyers: poor quality, hidden charges, and no customer protection

I placed a large order with SIS Training Gear and had a really disappointing experience from start to finish.

Despite the website being priced in GBP and promising ‘Hassle Free Returns’, I was hit with unexpected customs charges, and the sizing was completely inconsistent.

The website stated that items were shipping from ‘Europe’ - which is geographically vague and misleading. Given that the UK is in Europe (but no longer in the EU), and considering the site sells in GBP and targets UK customers on social media, it’s reasonable to assume shipping would be from within the UK. In fact, part of my order was shipped from a UK warehouse (with a UK return address), while the other part was shipped from Latvia, which triggered unexpected customs fees.

When I raised the issue, I was told: ‘I suggest you wash the size Large items in hot water and use a high heat dry to shrink them down a little’. Given the quality - which feels comparable to budget high-street brands like Primark - that advice would likely just ruin the fit and shape entirely.

When I asked to return the full order (which I did, in original condition), the seller became dismissive and aggressive, stating they ‘aren’t bound by UK Law’ because the business is registered in Canada - despite shipping from the UK and accepting UK returns.

They refused to refund me in full, so I’ve had to escalate the dispute via American Express.

If you’re a UK customer, I strongly recommend avoiding this company. The customer service is evasive, the product quality doesn’t reflect the branding or price point, and their returns process is anything but ‘hassle free’.

The product pages have now been updated to show that they ship from within the EU - but it’s concerning that a business seems to think it can bypass UK Consumer Law simply by stating a strict returns policy.

With a single quality supplier and a more streamlined user experience, this business could actually be quite profitable - but as it stands, there are plenty of improvements to be made.

UPDATED: Reply to the business: 28.01.26

Thanks for your reply, Taylor - I want to correct a few key points for clarity:

- No refund was issued by you. The refund came via American Express, following a formal dispute. You offered to refund half the items if I returned just one size - despite me returning everything, in original condition, tracked.
- When I flagged the customs charges, I was told not to reject the delivery, and warned the items would be “lost” and non-refundable if I did. That directly contradicts UK consumer law, which allows customers to reject delivery and still receive a full refund - including original shipping if the entire order is returned.
- You stated that your Canadian registration meant you weren’t bound by UK law. This is incorrect. Selling in GBP, marketing to UK customers, and fulfilling from a UK warehouse means UK consumer protections still apply.
- I was advised to shrink the poorly fitting items by washing them hot and drying them on high heat - which, for a “premium” brand, felt like poor product advice.

This response is not written by AI - it’s my own words, because I believe in holding businesses to the same standards they expect from their customers.

If you’re serious about improving the UK customer experience, I’d be happy to share suggestions from a user’s perspective. I do believe the concept of SIS Training Gear has potential - but transparency, clear shipping expectations, and a truly hassle-free return process are essential.

Best wishes

Thank you for taking the time to write such a detailed review. I’m genuinely sorry that your experience wasn’t what you hoped for. As a one-man business operating S.I.S. Training Gear alongside my day job, I take every piece of feedback seriously, especially when someone feels let down.

I’d like to clarify a few things for anyone reading, because transparency is extremely important to me:

Shipping & Customs
Orders to the UK can ship from either our UK warehouse or our EU warehouse depending on inventory levels. This is now clearly stated on every product page so customers know exactly what to expect and can avoid surprises. I updated this as soon as I became aware that it was causing confusion. Most UK customers never see customs charges, but when they do happen, I always try to work with them to find a fair solution and I offered to pay for yours but you rejected the charges before that could happen.

Returns
I absolutely honour returns, and I refunded this customer for the items returned. My small business is based in Canada and follows Canadian regulations, but I always aim to do right by my UK customers, which is why I maintain a UK return address and generally accept returns even when the policy technically doesn’t require me to.

Product Quality
Almost all reviews for our T-shirts mention the softness, quality, and fit. I’m sorry these items didn’t meet your expectations, but I appreciate you sending them back so I could inspect them and make sure they match the standard that thousands of customers are happy with.

Customer Service
I’m genuinely sorry if any part of our communication came across as dismissive. That’s never my intention. I handle every email personally and always try to resolve issues as best as I can, even when we disagree on the outcome.

To anyone else reading this:
I’m not perfect, but I always listen, always improve, and always try to take care of every customer personally. This review highlights some areas where I’ve already made updates to create a smoother experience for UK customers, and I’ll keep working to make S.I.S. Training Gear the best small Bond-inspired shop it can be.

If you ever have a problem with your order, please reach out to me directly. I always do my best to make things right.

Great duvet…but persevere with the odour.

This is a lovely, well manufactured duvet and I’m very pleased with it. The corner ties are especially neat for ensuring both duvet and cover remain in place.

There have been a few comments about the smell given off by the duvet, being synonymous with a farmyard smell. Whilst this was my initial reaction when I unpacked it, I did air the duvet for a couple of days.

I did some research, as it was clear that the previous reviewers didn’t do this.

The odour is lanolin, which is naturally secreted by sheep, and helps ensure that that their coats remain waterproof. This in itself goes to show that the wool has not been over-processed or ‘super washed’.

The odour does fade, leaving with you with a great nights sleep.

Please feel free to add something of this ilk to your FAQs and also update stockists with this information , as this may help to reduce any odour based returns.

Best wishes

Good, but waypoint signage needs improving

Need to ensure that permits are placed back in the vehicle. Also, the signage could be better. You arrive at the ‘Customer Parking’, get out, go to Reception for one of the staff to walk you back outside and direct you to where your car needs to be driven to. Either direct customers there in the first place, or remove the hedge, and drop the curb so that they can drive through. The staff have to do this for each customer. Why does head office not sort this, it’s a waste of productive time.
