After a week searching for my Axminster Vernier Calliper, I decided it was time to buy another and ordered it . 3 hours later I found it. The one I ordered had been despatched and the one I lost was on the magnetic bar for chisels, in full sight. Such is old age
Axminster were, as usual, helpful and friendly - I should just ask the postman to send it back. Who knew? Not me.
When you lose a tool you use all the time, it’s like losing a friend. And this old friend, 20 years on, is as good as new. Great calliper, great service Axminster.

Good stock of parts.

DMT Extra Coarse Stone a good product at a good price. Delivered pretty much to expectation. I have used PTD quite a bit; bought good tools there and will again.

I say it works

Would have preferred the 4mm Narex chisel. But it was out of stock and due in a week, so bought the 5mm. The 4mm is still due in a week, a week later. Same old Axminster, some might say.
The 5mm cuts well enough but does not retain an edge. For £7.28 one can hardly complain.

APC kept to time, as they have done in the past. Package unharmed.

Rapid transit of a really good product at a reasonable price. Not used Jenkins garnet before. Will use again.

Excellent brass side rail hinges, thick and clever, good movement (none of it sideways), supplied with screws the right length, the heads of which fit the countersink well. Thanks, Mr Hawthorne.
I cut the mortises with hand tools, but watch his videos. He is a meticulous craftsman.

Good shaving soap (refill). More expensive than 2 years ago but what isn't? £4 p.a. is fine.

The immediate acceptance of a returned item, which was not faulty but simply the wrong item for the job. It was my fault.

A Makita mitre saw blade offered at £9 less than any other vendor I could find, next day delivery included. Ordered at 18.18; DHL alerted for evening pickup at 18.18. Well packaged early morning delivery, 2 hours earlier than DHL proposed.
Mr Howe has another company, knowHowe, something Mr. Howe seems to have. Might he be interested in running the NHS?

In the end, when the right pie dish was sent rather than a wrong 'un, quickly rather than in 7 days, in sensible packaging rather than a papermill's weekly output of paper and a box the size of a rabbit hutch - it was exactly what we wanted, and had ordered.

This was all down to the remarkable Bekki, without whom we would be pieless. Thank you Bekki. And thank you Wares of Knutsford, the only stockists of a round metal pie dish the right size for 2 people that we could find. At a give away price, with the wrong 'un chucked in free. We gave the wrong 'un to our rabbit, who hopes not to end up in a pie.

The shopping experience was entirely OK, although we were one crocus short. What matters is that all the bulbs come up and look good. The review needs several months to grow.

I disliked the damaged packaging, the almost immediate chipped upper corner, the subsequent appearance of a chipped lower corner, both with no identifiable blow to either. I disliked the poor preparation of the lower rim; stable balance of the trough required considerable (hand) sanding. But it's late to be planting early Spring bulbs, so I got on with it - only one chipped corner visible and the trough design is attractive. Will buy better next time if I can.

My only previous experience of Yodel is of their "losing" , just before Christmas 2014,10 kilos of coffee and insisting that repayment was the responsibility of the vendor. Obviously this experience was rather better.

It is a very different bank today. Few call centre staff are helpful, knowledgeable or capable. Wait times, once short, are interminable at almost any hour. Online security systems are byzantine and slow; the new cards frequently fail to be accepted; the fraud/money laundering teams are intrusive, out of control and rude.
30 years ago I thought the service unparalleled. Banking by phone is now, of course, an anachronism; change was needed. But can any business really afford to lose a huge reservoir of goodwill?
Sorry to go but glad to have left. There are better banks out there.

I knew delivery was going to be slow - so was not surprised when it was. If I could have bought this product elsewhere with faster delivery I would have done. Many other retailers seem to have dumped this excellent product, perhaps because you need to take care using it- i.e. wear strong gloves and respirator.
