Review of Lloyds Bank

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

This disgraceful Lloyds Bank, be warned, don't use them !

This Bank, this Lloyds Bank, they clearly have no interest in resolving my dispute with them, this Bank, this Lloyds Bank, thye are absolutely shameless !

No matter how much I try to shame them, and ashamed they should be, they just ignore my reviews of then as if they don't care and I truly think that is the case.

Each time I comment with a further review they just repeat what they had said previously without ever trying to explain why the major security beach on my Lloyds Bank account happened.

So here we go again, I will not allow them to ignore me and I certainly won't be going away.

The short story in summary, I went in a pub, I purchased a drink for £6.50 and Lloyds Bank allowed that pub to remove £6250 from my Lloyds Bank account, even though my account has a £100 maximum limit on contactless payment, How could this possible happen ! They won't explain.

Its now more than a month since this happened and I still haven't recieved any explanation, even on here, Trust Pilot, where no one wants there name blackened, they continue to be evasive, they are deliberately avoiding giving me an answere.

They allowed £6250 to be removed from my Lloyds Bank account, as I don't even know, maybe they did this deliberately, maybe its fraud, but when a month passes without any explanation you have to think that theres something is seriously wrong !!! maybe its better to call the police ? how long should I wait, what would you do when a major bank, Lloyds Bank refuses to answere questions, any questions, when a large amount is removed from your account and they won't explain, it absolutely beggars belief and I'm astonished at this stand off.

Most of the replies, read them yourself, from Lloyds Bank, on here, are exactly the same, we are sorry, we understand, we sympathize, but they don't, they keep saying have you made a complaint, they know I have, but unbelievable I've recieved no answeres to my questions, no answeres to my complaint, It clearly shows they aren't bothered about anything I'm saying or anything thats written on Trustpilot and I will say it again they are not to be trusted.

Finally as they won't reply, we've taken it to the Financial Ombudsman, We are waiting for a reply from Watchdog, we will post it on our X account, Linkedin, On our Facebook business and personal pages and we continue to grill them on here for however long it takes.

NEXT !

What an absolute useless bank

What an absolute useless bank, useless customer service and a not very bright person who sends me exactly the same reply and previously, unbelievable and obviously inept.

I’ve absolutely no interest in your link, why would I ? I’ll take you to caught and I’ll enjoy giving you all the bad publicity that you deserve, still no proper reply to me since the several I’ve sent to you since my formal complaint. It get towards a month now since you allowed unsecure access to my account, you’ve never explained the reasons for you breaches, the abusive customer services call and now explaining the ineptitude of the people replying on TrustPilot, but as I’ve said before, I’ll report it to the regulator, I’ll take you court and very happy to do so. They still and always will rank as zero…

They still and always will rank as zero stars Bank after allowing this appalling and serious breach of their security on my account !

They seem to think that the issue on my account, an issue that they seem to have little or no interest in resolving, an issue where this appalling bank seemed to think it was fine to allowed thousands of pounds to leave my account, obviously it isn't.

This incident accured on Thursday 18th June 2026, today 13th July 2026, 26 days later they've done absolutely nothing apart from 2 could'nt careless replies on here and an abusive phone call from their customers where they implied it was partly my fault, it wasn't and I'm none of that and if needs be then I'll gladly take them to court and give it the publicity it really needs.

My Fault ! All I did was to pay for a drink (£6.50) with my mobile phone, a contactless payment (I have a £100 limit) and this appalling bank allow the outlet to take £6250 from my account, YES SIX THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY POUNDS, for a £6.50 drink. Now what sort of banking security would or could allow such a breach of their security and put my funds at such risk, it absolutely beggars belief, yes this appalling bank tried to lay their big problem at my feet, absolutely disgusting.

Now 26 days later I had virtually no contact from them ! The incident happened on June 18th, its a major breach of their security, yet it wasn't until 4 days later that I notice that the funds had been removed from my account, they had done nothing, no contact, no phone call, no email, not a thing, they had just allowed this massive amount of money to be removed from my account, allowed the breach to happen and did not a thing. I had to contact them to tell of the problem, they did'nt seem concerned, they said it must have been a glitch, incredibley they couldn't tell me how £6250 had left my account for a £6.50 drink even though I have a limit of only £100 on contactless payments, what a staggering breach of their security and they couldn't tell me why it had happened, 26 days later they've still have'nt told me why, just a cheeky letter saying take it to the ombudsman if you want and thats our final response,I'll do more than that I'll take them to court, I'll shout it out to all and sundry, I can confirm that your funds aren't secure in any Lloyds bank account.

Since their last response nearly 5 days ago I've heard nothing back from them, no email, no letter, no phone call, absolutely nothing, obviously theres no urgency at all especially regarding a security breach !

In their last Trust Pilot reply they comment, I'm sorry, it must be incredibly frustrating with their services, we appreciate your time and details, they understand my profound dissapointment, significant unauthorized transaction, aknowledge my distress, the breach, the seriousness of my complaint, the impact, committed to investigating (26 days later nothing) security protocols, customer service interaction (it was vile) taking feed back seriously (seriously !) clear areas where they need to improve) their process, please allow one of our complaints managers to look into this, you can complete our online complaints form (they clearly have no idea that we've already done this) My word it's just a load of utter rubbish and I will take these incredibly reckless people to court, I am also going to contact the regulator and watch dog to see what their thoughts are on this breach of security, is it safe for other people, the fact that they didn't notice it for 4 days, the no contact, the reapeted no contacts, the abusive customer service manager who wouldn't allow me to end the call but just kept going on about how much I wanted in compensation, I asked him 3 or 4 times that I didn't want to carry on with his call, I was in a public place and I felt harrassed and stressed after that horrific call, please feel free to review that call which you said you were recording, it was distressesing.
I will repeat again, before I finish this 3rd review of Lloyds Bank, that I could not possibly reccommend a bank that cares so little about their customers or their customers banking seurity, be warned !

Hi Michael. I'm sorry to hear about the incredibly distressing experience you've had with the security breach on your account and the subsequent handling of your concerns. We understand how frustrating and alarming it must be to have such a significant unauthorized transaction occur and then feel that your issues are not being adequately addressed.

We acknowledge your profound disappointment regarding the delay in resolving this matter and the lack of communication you've experienced over the past weeks. The details you've provided about the unauthorized £6250 transaction for a £6.50 drink, especially with a contactless limit of £100, highlight a serious security concern that we are committed to investigating thoroughly. We also take your feedback about the customer service interaction very seriously and will be reviewing the call you mentioned to understand the full context of what transpired.

We recognize that our previous responses have not met your expectations, and we sincerely regret any additional distress this has caused. We are committed to improving our processes and ensuring that such incidents are handled with the urgency and care they require.

Wow, basically it’s a none response from Lloyds Bank.

Wow, to say I’m staggered at this none response is a huge understatement and it deserves nothing more than another zero review in my opinion.

Lloyd Bank lol, an absolutely unbelievable (none) response on Trust Pilot today, where they’ve shown nothing but contempt for one of their customers !

In my first review I explained fully about the huge sum of money allowed to be removed from my account, They (Lloyds Bank) allowed £6250 to be taken from my account when my set limit on that account was only £100.

They (Lloyds Bank) allowed this contractless transaction to go through their system where their banking security fail to notice it, failed to act on it and did absolutely nothing to inform me (it was me that actually informed them) incredibly they seemed oblivious to their massive error and yet this is the staggering response I’ve just received from them this morning ! It just further confirms their couldn’t care less attitude to me as one of their customer or the protection of my funds.

In a word of warning I’d have to say to any potential new Lloyds Bank customer or indeed to any existing customers please take care, be warned, no one should knowingly bank with a financial institution where their security is so easily breached and a bank with such couldn’t care less attitude to a very serious complaint.

In their reply they mentioned nothing about the appalling phone call I received from them, they basically stated it was my fault for not notifying them, the pubs fault for taking to much money, never once admitting that it was their security that had failed.

Nothing is mentioned about whether their abusive customer service employee had be spoken to, reprimanded or even sacked for his disgusting behaviour towards me, a Lloyds Bank customer and member of the public !

Basically is this very short winded reply they’ve decided not to give me any explanation at all, just a “well go on then, just go to the ombudsman” it really beggars belief but of course that’s exactly what I will d do this morning and post updates as and when I receive them.

I will post other reviews on our business Facebook pages, my personal Facebook page, our X account, LinkedIn and our local news outlets, I’m also going to contact BBC’s watchdog to see if this is a common thing with Lloyds Bank and ask if they’d also like to review my complaint as it’s vital that banking customers know that they are secure and breaches of security like my experience don’t happen in future.

Today I will close my 2 business accounts and my personal account. My wife will also close her account. I will inform my 3 children and their partners that in my opinion it would be safer for them to do the same, that’s 5 business accounts and 7 personal accounts, I wouldn’t be doing my duty as a parent if I didn’t try to protect them, everyone deserves secure banking !

If there was a zero opportunity then…

If there was a zero option then that’s what I would have chosen for Lloyds Bank, an absolute disgrace.

On the 18th June 2026 I bought a pint in my local pub, it cost £6.50, I paid with my phone, a contactless payment, what I didn’t realise was that pub had instead of 6.50 they took £6250. I didn’t realise this until Sunday morning (Father’s Day) to say I was shocked was an understatement and I quickly made my way along to the pub to ask how could this have happened. I thought this problem had took place on the afternoon of the 20th June when I had purchased a pint of beer which cost 5.60, I couldn’t understand that no matter how many times you moved the decimal point it couldn’t equate to £6250. The staff at the pub couldn’t understand how this had happened and said that unfortunately the manager/owner was away with his family for Father’s Day but they would get back to me, I accepted that as I didn’t want to spoil his Father’s Day celebration as mine was being spoilt at that moment. I then immediately telephoned Lloyds Bank, they could understand how this had happened either and offered me very little support but before I put the phone down I asked could they get back to me and keep me up to date, they didn’t ! Prior to contacting them (Lloyds) by phone I tried their Bot, my word what an absolutely useless thing that is. I received no call back on that day (Sunday) nothing on Monday, at this point, as you can imagine I’m seriously worried about the missing £6250, it’s a lot of money, so I phoned Lloyds Bank again, I asked what was happening, I asked why after 2 days hadn’t I received any phone calls after my official complaint. This lady was fantastic, she got it completely, £6250 was a big deal, she was sympathetic, she showed empathy and apologised for the none contact, the lack of urgency, she was diligent and although she could do anything (incredible) at least she tried, I asked if she could get someone to return my call (that call lasted just under one hour) she said she would, unfortunately that didn’t happen, nothing further on Monday, nothing on Tuesday or Wednesday, I eventually received a call on Thursday afternoon, it really beggars belief, £6250 missing from my account for over a week and nothing ! Eventually in the early hours of Thursday morning my £6250 dropped back into my account, it was a relief. These are my thoughts in bullet form.
1.) £6250 removed from my account, Lloyds should have blocked this immediately, they didn’t.
2.) My account has a £100 contactless payment limit, yet Lloyds failed to block it.
3.) This breach of security on my account happened on 18/06/2026 by Sunday (4 days later) they still hadn’t contacted me (£6250)
4.) I contacted them (Lloyds) on Sunday, they didn’t contact me for another 5 days !
5.) When I did contact them they showed no urgency, no sympathy and no empathy regarding this very serious matter.
6.) I had to chase them, several times I asked to be kept informed and asked for return calls, I received none.
7.) I was offered a £20 payment for my troubles, for my time, my spoilt Father’s Day, the fact that I didn’t have access to my £6250 for over one week etc etc etc.
8.) obviously I refused the paltry £20 offer, it was disrespectful, at the time on Sunday the 20 June I asked for £200 to settle it then, they refused, unbelievable.
9.) Eventually I received a phone call from a Polish gentleman with a Scottish accent, he said he was there to resolve this issue, he said the £20 offer was wrong and was now offering £100, I refused that, at this point he seemed to be getting annoyed/angry, stating “well how much do you want then” it was a disgusting conversation and I’d never deal or speak with that person again. He constantly spoke over me, interrupted me, his manner was appalling and I had to tell him 4 times that I no longer wanted to carry on with the conversation, all the while being badgered by that individual, I had the call on speaker and the two shop owners heard every bit of it. During the conversation he suggested that it was the pubs fault, he said I was partly to blame as I hadn’t noticed it leaving my account for 4 days, it was absolutely staggering, it was 100% clear to me who was to blame.
10.) For what ever reason I received several emails asking me to take part in survey over the next few days, I found that bizarre.
12.) I received a formal reply to my complaint just over a week after the money went missing, it confirmed the £100 off of compensation/offer of goodwill, it said final offer, lol it’s unbelievable and clearly a law unto themselves, I refused it.
13.) After some thought I replied to their letter, I dismissed their offer, I wouldn’t even accept the £200 that I originally asked for, I told them I wanted £500 or I’ll take my claim to the financial ombudsman, I’ve received no reply, no letter of deadlock !
DON’T BANK WITH LLOYDS !

Be very careful using these people

Be very careful using these people, I give them no stars.

I booked accommodation with them, they took my money immediately, approximately €300, for an apartment in Antibes France. They took my money although they knew there was no availability to stay there, Obviously the money should have been returned immediately, it wasn’t, nearly two weeks later my money still hasn’t been returned, it’s an absolute disgrace. They just don’t care, they sent an email, saying they’d refund the money straight away, then they say 7-10 days, then 4 days, then 15 days, then the 2nd of October, then the 4th of October, it’s the 4th of October today and still no refund has been received. It feels like I’ve been scammed, like they are thieves, it really is appalling and I want to warn everyone of this. The truth of the matter is they just don’t care, it could quite easily have been my only money, I could have been stuck in a foreign country without accommodation, I could have been in a very dangerous situation, this would have been their fault, but they didn’t care, no feelings, no empathy, no conscience, absolute zero customer care. I want to warn anyone who travels and uses Airbnb, this could happen to you, it could put you in jeopardy.

BEWARE, BE WARNED, WHAT HAPPENED TO ME COULD HAPPEN TO YOU.

GOOD LUCK, BE SAFE, BE HAPPY.

Michael.

Absolutely shocking from a couldn’t…

Absolutely shocking from a couldn’t care less company and I’m glad they are gone now. They told us lies, took our money, left us without a service, no compensation or refund, lying door salesmen that we’d never trust again. Just beware folks, they cost us over a £100 plus time and effort and a customer care who didn’t care at all.

Ps I’ve said this many many times ! Why haven’t you got a zero star review or better still a minus, it would help and be more appropriate as I would rather not give companies like this any.

Good website, good variation, very quick sign up, excellent repayment and often taking only a few hours and that’s the best I’ve come across.
The negative.
No sign up bonuses, I’ve never come across this before, no free bets so far, most firms offer £30/40, sign up bonuses, Bet365 £100 plus free bets.

They really aren’t worth a single star…

They really aren’t worth a single star !

Hello folks, I’m a Landlord, I’m also a consumer like everyone else and from my experience I’d give a warning and say do not use British Gas.

My previous tenants moved out, no problem, the tenants took their final reading whilst I was present and I took the same reading and I would then be responsible for the gas and electricity going forward, ah if life was that simple !
We took the opportunity to do some work on the property and it was 3 months before the next tenants moved in. At that point we took our final readings and the new tenants took the same reading as their starting point. We sent the reading, via email, along with 2 photo shots of the meters, this was where the problems began.
I received no final invoice from BG, months went by and in all honesty I had forgotten about it, we have a large portfolio of domestic, commercial and semi commercial properties and it’s easy for this to happen especially when they (BG) don’t send you an invoice.
That was August, in December I had a call from the tenants, there was some post at the property with my name on it. I collected it, apologies for this, as it’s not their job to be running around after me. When I opened it it’s from a collections company for an outstanding debt from BG. I was absolutely furious, they had given my personal details to a debt collections agency, this had the potential to buy a black mark against our credit score. I call the number and informed them this was an error, they accepted what I had said and advised me to contact BG. I did this, I asked them why they had sent the invoice 5 months late, why did they send it to an address where I had never resided and why had they disgracefully given my personal detail out, I was furious and it was a dangerous and outrageous thing to do.
It was something that should never have happened, I have an account with BG, they have all of my account details, email, phone numbers and my address. In fairness they apologised and admitted it was their mistake and confirmed it should not have happened. However I am still being contacted and threatened by the collections agency dogs they have set upon me, now 7 months later they are still phoning me and I’m about to put this into the hands of our solicitors.
BG have been wrong from the outset, we have done nothing, had they sent the final invoice to the correct address it would have been paid immediately. Instead we’ve had all this nonsense, all these threats, all of my time trying to resolve it, the embarrassment and apologies with my tenants, giving my personal data out, the risk of damaging my credit scoring, etc etc etc and all of it not my fault.
Obviously I have asked BG to compensate me for this, I’m a busy person and I run three large businessese, my time I’ve valuable. They offered me £30, it’s an insult, plus they still wanted the bill paid. I asked them for compensation and the least they should have done was to wave the bill, they weren’t willingly to do this. This has been going on a long time now, it’s stressful and time consuming, I’ve asked BG to issue me with a letter of deadlock, so far they haven’t done that, even though we are long past the 6 week period where they are obliged to issue it.
My apologies for the length of this review, I could go on much longer as their behaviour and customer services are really appalling, I won’t, but I did think it was valid to inform people/customers what these people are like, don’t use them.

Appalling company, very happy to be leaving soon, no reply was required although thank you for that. I tried everything from the get go and you did nothing, I was robbed, I was lied to, your salesman was a liar and I have no inclination in wasting my time in the futile merry go round that you put people through. Everything I said in my previous review still stands, I wasn’t looking for a reply, I just want other people to know the score, however on reading other reviews it’s not only me that you shafted.

Contract up soon Hurrah !

Contract up soon Hurrah !

What a shock crown this lot are, it’s always helpful to remind someone, give them the nod to make sure they don’t fall into the same trap as we did, beware, here’s the list.

1.) a salesman that told a pack of lies.
2.) a package that arrived with the wrong connection.
3.) consequently we had no tv for a week.
4.) Promised a second router as we previously had with Sky, we didn’t get.
5.) refused to discuss their lying salesman.
6.) refused to refund us for a week of no tv, although we’d paid for it.
7.) refused to compensate for 6 weeks of hassle, emails, phone calls etc.
8.) appalling customer service.
9.) a total lack of empathy, sympathy or any goodwill.
10.) a totally appalling company.

There we have it folks, that’s what’s possible with this crowd, fair warning !
I have absolutely no interest in their reply, why would anyone want to talk with people who tell lies ? Certainly no us. Thankfully we will be back with Sky soon, hurrah.

Ps don’t use VM, we have also closed all of are 9 contract with their sister company O2.

Happy Christmas and have a fabulous 2023.

Gone from a 1* to a 5*

Gone from a 1* to a 5*

Eventually we are sorted, the problem is resolved, I’m happy with the results, the 2 or 3 people who helped to resolve it were absolutely fantastic, they knew what they were about, we sent photos, they had an emergency engineer there the following morning and it was sorted double quick and a little bit of goodwill was nice too.

Many people only come on here only to…

Many people only come on here only to complain, today I’m here to say how wonderful the products, the service, the delivery and the attention to detail I recieved from Curry’s shop at Retail World, Team Valley Trading Estate, Gateshead, during my recent purchase of white goods, it was absolutely fantastic.

Many many thanks.

Wow what a mistake it was signing up…

Wow what a mistake it was signing up with this crowd, I gave them a shocking review on here, they did nothing. I made complaints on here, verbally, via text, via email, yet several months later I have still been over charged, no refund forthcoming, complaints ignored, no additional router as promised, left for 10 days with out internet, phone or tv. well its now past the date that they are obliged to reply/resolve etc, consequently its is now with CISAS, I've absolutely no doubt we'll get a positive resolution/adjudication and they deserve nothing less.

PS, I'd love to upload of appalling messages where they have replied with sarky/insulting/abusive, it's quite unbelievable.

Hi Michael,

Thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We're really sorry to hear that you have exhausted the complaints process with us and that it's now with CISAS.

Due to this we will be unable to help you or comment any further. Any further concerns should be discussed with your CISAS case handler.

Apologies once again.
