Abstract

Cette invention concerne un procédé de production d'un agent adsorbant ainsi qu'un adsorbant produit à l'aide de ce procédé et son application comme garniture filtrante à fumée ou bout filtrant de produits du tabac, en particulier de cigarettes. Le procédé de production de cet adsorbant se caractérise en ce qu'il comprend les étapes suivantes consistant : à introduire un gaz de dioxyde de carbone dans une solution d'aluminate de sodium en plusieurs étapes ; à soumettre le mélange réactionnel à un traitement thermique ; et à filtrer, laver et sécher le produit précipité. On obtient ainsi une pseudo-boehmite sur la base d'oxyhydroxyde d'aluminium contenant entre 20 et 24 % en masse d'eau se présentant sous la forme d'eau cristalline liée, entre 0,01 et 0,4 % en masse d'oxydes métalliques parmi lesquels figurent Na2O, Fe2O3, éventuellement CaO et MgO et dans certains cas entre 0,01 et 0,1 % en masse de SiO2, le reste de la masse comprenant jusqu'à 100 % en masse de Al2O3. Selon cette invention, on peut éventuellement soumettre la pseudo-boehmite produite à un traitement thermique.
