Abstract

Un portador y un catalizador util para la oxidacion de etileno a oxido de etileno que utiliza dicho portador. El portador está compuesto por soporte solido refractario inerte tal como alfa-alumina, y tiene una superficie que exhibe una pluralidad de protrusiones a escala manométrica que se proyectan hacia fuera de la superficie, y tiene sobre el mismo una cantidad catalíticamente activa de plata. Reivindicacion 12: El proceso de la reivindicacion 7 caracterizado porque el tratamiento se lleva a cabo por ejemplo del soporte en una solucion de un ácido orgánico, ácido inorgánico, una base, una sal, o combinaciones de los mismos, por un tiempo y a una temperatura suficientes para disolver una porcion del soporte y re-depositar la porcion disuelta sobre la superficie del soporte.
