Used to be an amazing tool. Not anymore!
Used to be an amazing tool.
Now it's super slow and crashes the whole time.
I cancelled my subscription.
quick 2 min video takes 20
buggy - freezes up my entire laptop regularly - quicky recording a 2 min video often takes 20 mins due to poor poor software
I use Loom regularly to train my staff…
I use Loom regularly to train my staff and virtual assistants for my land business. Overall it's been a very useful tool and has saved time. Whenever we onboard a new team member we have a full library of training videos for them.

my bill went from $9 to $160 when i checked it was all invited people yes not people who joined this combining of atlasian products these people are added seprately to another project are invited without my permission to loom now my bill is $160 and they won't let me cancel unless i pay only choice i have is to delete my account
Piece of crap
Piece of crap. It won't let you record just your screen unless you give it permission to your camera and microphone too, a privacy nightmare, don't go near it.
Impossible to cancel your contract with…
Impossible to cancel your contract with them they make it unbelievably difficult to stop your subscription they have been billing me for months now despite me deleting my account and making every effort to contact them
doesn't even record properly
Used it for years until...
Used it for years. Great software but when my card got scammed, I lost my original rate and had to pay double. I will be looking for a new software after that. They were "sorry" my card got scammed but still increased my rate.
No customer support -- Zero stars
I would give Loom zero stars if I could.
Yes, their software works -- exactly like one hundred other apps just like it.
However, unlike all the other apps, if you ever want to contact customer support you will never be able to. Every "contact us" sends you in an endless circle of reading articles.
They have billed me after cancelling twice now. There NO WAY to contact any type of customer support. If you don't mind if you are billed after canceling and can never talk to a human if you need help, this is the software for you.
Doesent work at all
Doesent work at all. I shouldn't have to contact customer support for basic features on a bug affecting the vast majority of users, its 3am and I have a project due.
Made a free account, got upgraded
Made a free account for my dad's website and ended up not using it really. Keep in mind, it was the free plan, which made it weird once I got lot's of emails from them about needing payment.
Apparently they upgraded me to paid monthly subscription without my consent and was demanding 24$ a month. Had to cancel everything and thank goodness I didn't add a credit card. STAY AWAY FROM THEM, they are a bunch of scammers! And when you try to contact them, they ignore you!
Loom is unimaginably bad: it's simply broken
Loom is unimaginably bad. The MacOS is simply broken, it doesn't work. I can't log in. It's become so much worse, but I've got countless important client videos stored in it to migrate to a new provider
If you wanna look like a complete fool…
If you wanna look like a complete fool and lose flow mid-video, this is your tool.
Everyone is used to working with this, yet it's infinitely worse and more unreliable than OBS or anything free. I used both the paid version, regrettably, and the free one for years. Here are some of the many problems:
- If you're doing simple screenshares with tab jumps and such, Loom is very inconsistent at follow you. Randomly it stops showing your camera, and sometimes the controls seem greyed out as if it's not recording, and sometimes they don't even appear.
- If you get the pro version you unlock editing. For some reason, consistently after filming at scale, every single video, edited or not, would have massive frame skip issues. Imagine you made a killer intro for a client and transition to the presentation. Well, every 5s, one 1s or so is inexplicaby lost, jumping like 200 frames and breaking your sentences. you can't even follow what's being said.
grateful to not be using this anymore.
It was a great product until they sold…
It was a great product until they sold to Atlassian
Never subscribed, still send me a bill of $26
I only signed up to check-out the tools and never subscribed to anything. But they sent me a bill of $26. Like wth!! I never agreed to any subscription. Is this some kind of scam?! Would give a 0/5 if it was possible.
No improvement with their integration
I hope they do have improved integration on their app, even the web. Just awful for me, at least.
Really bad company
Really bad company, i focking logged in to my old account, what was a premium one and now they pushed me in to a new account and can't back my old premium account. I have been a client since 2024, now probably looking for a similair company, with better service!
Horrible
Horrible. Crashes all the time. Lags horribly. Lucky if I can get one video in before it stop working.
Extremely misleading
Would not recommend this company AT ALL - downloaded the app to record ONE video that an interviewer requested for an interview. I signed up for the 'free version' however they forget to mention that the free version is only a 14 day trial and you're lumped with a bill at the end. Trying to navigate deleting or downgrading the account has also been a nightmare and just sent round in circles. In order to delete, you need to downgrade from the highest package they'll automatically put you on. To downgrade, you need to find a specific tab which is hidden in the account settings somewhere. When you finally navigate that, you'll try to delete your account and be told no, and in fact you need to now delete all the apps they link with your account first. In order to delete the apps, you need to go onto another third party app, and also navigating this button has been next to impossible and I still havent been able to do. They wont let you delete your account till the apps are gone.
An absolute nightmare and just feels like a trap and scam, once you get in its IMPOSSIBLE to get out and its purposely done this way. AVOID AT ALL COSTS
It just works!
Instead of writing a 3 page email explaining how to use our new software, I just record a 2 minute video of my screen with Loom. It’s way faster, and my team actually understands what I’m talking about. I love that it tells me when someone has actually watched the video. It makes remote work feel a lot less like shouting into a void. It's simple, fast, and just works.
