4mS latency and 900 Mbps up and down…
4mS latency and 900 Mbps up and down most of the time on a wired connection. Occasionally 145mS and 700 Mbps down at odd times but always 900 Mbps up.
IDNet continue to be fantastic
IDNet continue to be fantastic. Flawless customer service, flawless internet.
Always a rapid response to any problems
Always a rapid response to problems - but we only had one, a line fault that was nothing to do with IDNET. Sadly I will have to leave them when copper phones (PTSN) are stopped , because I don't plan to change my ISP when I am forced to move to a VOIP phone. Thank you IDNET for a great service.
Don't bother trying to use it in the evenings
When it works it's great, however seems there are too many times when it doesn't, like EVERY SINGLE NIGHT OF THE WEEK. We are on Gigabit full fibre and a business account yet never get above download speeds of 50 after 7pm. We DO NOT work 9am to 5pm so rely on good service as and when we need it. My guess is they are throttling our service in the evening just to deal with their load but thats NOT OUR PROBLEM.
We also get sporadic drop outs, not in high frequency, but WAY more often than when we use to get with the other big companies (virgin, Sky etc) yet whenever we call in we get the 'nothing wrong our end' routine. So we just don't bother calling anymore and just give up work until it kicks in again. This just isn't good enough when trying to run a business which is 100% reliant on internet connection.
We are in a town centre, not out in the sticks, and we changed ALL our internal hardwear (£££) to work with the router they sent to us which to be fair did improve the service however, it would of been better value for us to just buy our own router rather that just keep getting told 'it's our equipment'. Perhaps (particularly for business customers) they should do a survey on our existing network and send a compatible router in the first place to save the weeks of anguish trying to get it to all work together.
We are trapped in a 24 month contract which is thankfully getting close to the end, then we will absolutely get out and not look back.
The only reason I gave it a 2* is because they do pick up the phone quickly (potentially dependant on package)

Consistently above advertised speed
Consistently above advertised speed. Never let me down. Static IP. Perfect for me.
early days but all good so far
early days but all went well with getting the service installed (by city fibre) and provisioned
so far connection speeds are towards the upper end of the range they suggested I would see so all good there too
Switched to their Full fibre broadband
Proccess was quick and easy. They did what they said they would when they said they would do it.
I switched to them because they offered a choice of different routers with their package, something none of the other ISPs were offering.
Great so far
Moved away from virgin, who wanted £80 for just internet. I used the one touch switch process which went through just fine. On placing the order immediately got the cancellation email from virgin.
I needed a new install from city fibre, requested the earliest Friday, got Thursday instead but no issue for me. I did email IDNet the day before installation for an update on any specific time slot, and got a response within 10 minutes. Once installed I connected my own router, immediately got connected at max speed.
Still early days yet and no issues so far. I chose IDNET for a few reasons, UK based customer support, great reviews. And a choice of contract lengths with or without a router. Whilst not the cheapest, for just customer service alone it’s worth paying that extra.
I’m on the Fibre 900 and get exactly that.
Great UK based technical support
Long time member of IDNET. very reliable service. Excellent UK based technical support. Usage is never throttled.
Costs are higher compared to some larger providers, but that is offset by reliable service.
Such a good company
Such a good company, whenever I have technical difficulties they always take the time to chat through with me step by step. Great service and reasonable price, would recommend!
I swapped over to IDNet as they offer…
I swapped over to IDNet as they offer a fixed-price term, which I prefer. I was already with another CityFibre ISP and did wonder how seamless it would be transferring over to IDNet.
They have been fantastic from the word go! I phoned to query a few things, and the person I spoke to was very polite and informative. They clearly explained the process and the steps involved in transferring over.
I had a few more questions while waiting for the connection to go live, which was around three weeks time. Their responses through email were always prompt, either the same day or the next - big shout out to (Chloe).
I truthfully cannot fault them on anything.
If you’re thinking about switching, I would fully recommend IDNet. Having UK based customer service is also a big bonus, as they understand your queries and don’t fob you off with scripts like the bigger companies do.
Fantastic customer service
Fantastic customer service, no waiting for a foreign call centre. The advertised service is exactly what you receive, and the performance is outstanding
Great ISP
I've been with IDNet for quite a time now & have had nothing but unfailingly good service from them over the years, both in terms of broadband reliability & help over the phone when (rarely) needed. They have always been quickly available to speak, friendly, knowledgeable & patient &, though they're not the cheapest providers out there (but still reasonably priced) with them I can honestly say that you do get exactly what you pay for.
Happy with everything so far!
No complaints, there were some delays in getting the service activated but this was due to Cityfibre making mistakes, IDNET chased them until they resolved the issue.
The network has been stable so far, works on my custom hardware too, no complaints!
Good customer service team
First internet provider I experienced that has a quite easy to reach and competent customer service team. They also have options to buy (with a decent discount) good quality router from them - if you want good wi-fi signals in your home, this is essential.
They do what it says on the tin
They do what it says on the tin. Rare these days. Great service. Great reliability
Very quick and easy to change over.
