I would give 0 stars if possible. I am a creator/seller that has a pdf sampler of my 3 series coloring book and Gumroad has been holding my tips for a month. The explanation is under review. I've submitted all of the required documents and that's all they can say. I don't recommend using Gumroad. I feel like they are just taking people's money at this point. Every payout week on Friday, it says skipped uner review. That's bull. Gumroad you are crooks that are taking our money. The fees aren't enough for you?! I have $100+ my customers felt I should have and who are you to keep that! If there's additional information you need to verify in order to release the funds, say that. My method of payment is from an established business account. So yeah, give me my damn money now! Don't use Gumroad unless you have money to give away folks! Who would be interested in joining a class action lawsuit? I see other reviews *a lot* with the same issue. I've contacted a lawyer. Let's talk.

They keep my money for no reason, this is a scam site!

I had a problem with my product and the customer service was absolutly fantastic and extreamly helpfull.

​I am leaving this review to warn other creators before they waste their time and hard work on Gumroad.

​First, their fee structure is predatory. They take a 10% flat fee + fixed transaction fees on direct sales (and up to 30% on marketplace sales), forcing creators to double their prices just to make a basic profit.

​To make matters worse, despite delivering 100% of the services my clients paid for,and despite my clients explicitly confirming to support that they received the work,Gumroad suspended my account without warning and refused to release my earned money.

​Their support team provided zero resolution, leaving me uncompensated for genuine work while freezing my earnings. I ultimately had to instruct my clients to file bank chargebacks just so the platform wouldn't hold onto their money forever.

​Gumroad operates with complete disregard for independent creators. Do not risk your livelihood or client relationships on this platform.

SCAM! On September 17, 2026 I received an email from gum Road stating that they have changed the limit from $100-$1 to get paid out and that we can get paid out immediately. That is their new plan.
Anyone else get this email because trust me you don't get paid out of immediately and your account just gets blocked. You can't get your money. You can't reach customer service. There has to be some sort of class action lawsuit. I am so pissed that was my baby - The book I wrote and people bought it, but I don't get to enjoy any reward and it just stays stuck in their account. I heard if you close your account, they will not pay you. Any money is due.

SCAM ALERT! Gumaroad suddenly imposed a 100 dollar payout limit for creators! This is TOO HIGH. As a result, I can't be paid for my sales. Removing ALL my products asap.

It has been MONTHS and have not received a single penny since i’ve started selling on Gumroad.
Customer service answers my emails but is NOT HELPFUL at all. All they’ve been doing is asking me to wait for the next payout and other useless things.
Clearly not useful nor effective at all (clearly since it’s been months of useless emails).

People complaining about buying scam products aside, the user experience could be a lot better.

First of all, the website is borderline unusable for customers of one of the biggest German ISPs "Deutsche Telekom". It won't even load properly without using a VPN or tunnel to bypass the abysmal routing, and downloads crawl along at dialup Internet speeds.

Furthermore, the user interface does not really make a difference between sellers and buyers. As a buyer, the only parts of the site I care about are "Discover" and "Library". I do not intend to ever create or sell anything on this platform, yet I have access to all the seller related features which are completely irrelevant and distracting to me.

Missing payouts, repeated excuses, and no proper payment proof

I am writing this review to share my extremely frustrating experience with Gumroad as a creator.

I have been waiting for my payout, but despite Gumroad marking it as paid, the money has not reached my bank account. What makes this experience even more disappointing is the way customer support has handled my repeated requests for help.

My payout was marked as paid, but the money never arrived

My payout was marked as paid on August 17, 2026. However, I still have not received the money in my bank account.

I have contacted Gumroad support multiple times, hoping to get a clear explanation and proper payment confirmation.

Unfortunately, the responses have been extremely disappointing.

Instead of providing meaningful banking information or investigating the missing payment properly, support repeatedly sends me the same trace ID and says that the payout has been paid.

But a trace ID alone does not solve the problem.

The money is still missing from my bank account.

The same response every time

My experience with Gumroad support has been frustrating because I keep receiving essentially the same explanation:

The payout was paid.
Here is the trace ID.
Please contact your bank.

I have already contacted my bank, but without proper payment documentation, it is difficult to get a meaningful investigation.

I have repeatedly requested additional information, including proper payment confirmation or SWIFT-related documentation where applicable.

Instead, I keep receiving the same trace ID.

This is not the kind of customer support I expected from a platform handling creator earnings.

My concerns as a creator

1. Payout reliability

If Gumroad marks a payout as paid, creators should be able to trust that the money has actually been delivered or that a proper transfer is in progress.

2. Lack of transparency

A trace ID without meaningful payment details is not enough when a payout has not arrived.

3. Poor support experience

Repeatedly sending the same response without resolving the issue is extremely frustrating.

4. Financial stress

Creators work hard to create and sell their products. When earnings are delayed for weeks, it can cause serious financial problems.

My honest opinion

I joined Gumroad because I wanted a simple platform to sell digital products and receive my earnings.

Instead, I am now dealing with a missing payout and support that has not provided a satisfactory resolution.

I cannot recommend Gumroad to other creators who depend on reliable and timely payouts until this issue is resolved.

I hope Gumroad investigates my missing payment properly and provides a clear explanation, proper payment confirmation, and the money I am owed.

Gumroad: marking a payout as paid is not the same as ensuring the creator receives the money.

Creators deserve better transparency, better support, and reliable access to their earnings.

I will update this review if Gumroad resolves the issue.

I had a sale in July and it's September and still have not received my money. When I reached out, they only say it is under review with no explanation. Biggest scam. No recourse. We need a class action suite against them.

After working on the platform for three months and earning more than $500, they suddenly told me that my account was under review and refused to transfer my money.

My payout has now been skipped around eight times, and it is still being skipped with no clear explanation or resolution.

This has been a complete waste of both time and effort. I have never experienced anything like this before, and at this point, it genuinely feels like an attempt to withhold money that I legitimately earned.

I would give Gumroad 0 stars if I could.

I had approximately $6,457.65 in total funds at issue, including four payouts that were supposedly processed but none of them ever reached my bank account:

• August 4, 2026 — ৳134,772.73 BDT
• August 11, 2026 — ৳97,840.57 BDT
• August 18, 2026 — ৳229,452.55 BDT
• August 25, 2026 — ৳60,904.31 BDT

The four missing payouts total ৳522,970.16 BDT, and I also had approximately $900 remaining balance.

When I contacted Gumroad to report the missing payouts and tried to get the issue resolved, my account was suspended.

I was also informed that the partner bank required Form C and a Declaration Form in connection with the payouts. But it was a lie. Without any payment notiofications or funds received how anyone can fill out the C form. And C form is not required below 10000 USD Transactions.

Instead of getting a clear resolution, I am now dealing with both missing payouts and a suspended account.

I have payout records and can provide bank statements and supporting documentation showing that the funds were not received.

This has been an extremely frustrating experience. When a platform is holding thousands of dollars of a creator's money, I expect transparency, proper communication, and a clear resolution—not account suspension after reporting a payout problem.

Gumroad: Please explain where my money is, why the payouts were not credited to my bank, why asked Form C and the Declaration Form without sending any funds to my bank, and why my account was suspended without showing any issues.

Very disappointing experience. Stay away from this scam.

These people suspended my account for absolutly no reason the day before payout! and when i asked for the reason they provided no response at all! they just wants to scam the people from other countries who can't come to US and sue them! and enjoy with their money!

I downloaded some free addons for Blender, a 3d program and all of a sudden I noticed money missing from my bank account, supposedly coming form purchases of unrelated gumroad products, which i never purchased or even looked at. I have not used it since. they were not very helpful at all, just repeating back what I had told them. my bank refunded the money fortunately

Changed payout threshold from 10 dollars to 100 dollars. Cannot trust this company. Companies that do that should go bust. Hope they do.

After seeing all the reviews, I change my decision to sell digital product on it as it has misleading and I appropriate content. Amazon is much better than this hyped website. I'd rather prefer other platforms that are not as bad as Gumroad.

I had watched a talk about benefits for senior citizens and how to go about receiving them. The gentleman mentioned that he was offering a download of this for future reference. I ordered it for $21. When I didn't see that my order had been placed, I ordered it again. Same result. So naturally I hoped it hadn't gone through. Oh no! On my bank account was two entries for $21. But never did I receive any download information, I'm on a fixed income and cannot afford to throw any amount of money away. This is very upsetting. It seems selling through the internet is 9 times out of 10 is a total scam! If possible, I wouldn't even give one star. Judgement day is coming.

Truly awful website, one of the most frustrating experiencxes as a user I can think of. Go to your library and try and look at your products ... oh wait you can't, you can only click it to find the download. THATS NOT HELPFUL!
