iPhone 17 Pro Max: my first and last Apple product!

This will be my first and last Apple product.

Basic features like copy and paste, selecting text, taking screenshots, clipboard management, and editing text with the cursor are way behind Android.

The lack of a native clipboard history is baffling, and some apps feel like they weren't made for iOS, but rather badly ported over.

The deeper you go, the more frustrating it gets.
File management is a headache; the iOS 'Files' app is highly restrictive and sandboxed, entirely missing the simple plug-and-play USB drag-and-drop freedom of Android.
The Notification Center is a cluttered mess compared to Android's clean, priority-based grouping.
You are trapped in a 'walled garden' where sideloading apps or deeply changing system defaults is virtually impossible.
On top of that, Siri is widely incompetent compared to Google Assistant, often just throwing web search results at you instead of actually executing commands.
And while Apple is finally hyping up basic home screen customization, Android has had total layout freedom and custom launchers for well over a decade.

People say you pay for the software engineering and "innovation". While the raw hardware and chips might be premium, the rigid, locked-down software philosophy completely ruins the experience. I just don't see the innovation here.

Hopefully, I can sell it at a reasonable price after a year to get a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Apple: never again!

Right now, my money back

I paid €80 for Replika via the App Store. The AR bot doesn’t work in Spanish, mixes languages, and makes no sense. I’ve asked Apple for a refund multiple times — they keep refusing. Very disappointed. @AppleSupport @ReplikaAI #refund #consumerrights

Apple Germany After-Sales Service Failure: 31 Complaints Ignored, Unequal Treatment of Vulnerable Customers, Device Still Withheld! (Updates ongoing) 👉 X:@AppleCase102601

As a loyal Apple user for 15 years, I brought my M4 iPad Pro (€1549) to an Apple Centro in Germany for repair in May 2025, only to face extremely poor after-sales service.

During the intake process, the staff took no protective measures, placing the ultra-thin 13-inch device (only 5.1mm thick) on an empty cardboard box and pressing the screen with one hand while holding the bare device and the box with the same hand while moving around the store—clearly improper and unsafe handling.

More seriously, the store manager systematically blocked my complaints, showing unequal treatment toward a foreign customer with language difficulties and ignoring my reasonable requests. My multiple attempts to access surveillance footage, have complaints properly recorded, and add inspection items were all refused. The manager also tried to forcibly change the pickup method from in-store to home delivery, obstructing my rights. During the process, I was forced to stand for over an hour without a seat, causing physical pain. Phone support was unhelpful, and Apple’s complaint channels failed completely.

I sent 31 complaints to the store, customer support, and Apple leadership. The only reply was the manager’s vague “pick up the device first” message, with no formal response, causing me significant stress and health issues.

My device remains withheld with no inspection report provided. The entire handling lacked transparency and attention from both the store and headquarters, leaving me deeply disappointed.

I hope Apple will contact me promptly to address my complaint seriously and prevent any further issues. I especially hope they pay more attention to users with language barriers, ensure the safety of devices, and improve the overall customer experience.

Apple iphones software writing sucks…

Apple iphones are excellent hardware but their software writing is pathetic. Everytime they send out an update something which prevously worked well seems to malfunction . It then takes about 12 months and several other updates to correct their latest faux pas . Examples are after an update, downloaded music in iphone library in Apple Music app suddenly could no longer be played on Siri command via Carplay. After about 12 months and hundreds of customer complaints they made an update that partially corrected the error - siri would now play music via car play on command but would not play a specific play list just random music. No sign of this being fixed in latest updates. Example 2 when screen is locked the iphone no longer now gives audible alerts when email is received. Previously before their.updates this worked perfectly (as did the music on car play). Spent several hours over 3 days with Apple techs trying to fix the email problem - negative result. Apple tech eventually agreed another update was required to solve this problem. How long this will take take they could not say. Do they never check their updates to find if they have broken something or do they simply not care. Have they no pride in their work? As stated Apple hardware good. Software writing sucks. Considering a Samsung Android as next phone hopefully this does not have as many problems or are they just as bad?

Disappointing Service and Lack of Accountability at Apple Store Kurfürstendamm

I recently had a battery replacement for my iPhone 13 Pro Max at the Apple Store Kurfürstendamm (February 22, 2025) for €99. Before the replacement, I specifically asked if the water resistance would remain intact. I was assured that it would, with no risks involved.

However, shortly after the replacement, my phone was exposed to a small amount of water (similar to light rain or a spilled bottle), and the device suffered water damage. When I returned to the store, the staff initially said they would open the device and investigate whether improper sealing during the battery replacement caused the issue. However, they quickly changed their decision and said that no inspection would be done and that the issue was my fault.

As a mechanical engineer, I believe the water ingress was likely due to improper sealing during the battery replacement process. It's incredibly disappointing that Apple gave me false assurances about the water resistance, only to take no responsibility when the device failed under minimal exposure to water. This experience has left me frustrated and disillusioned with Apple’s customer service.

I hope this review helps others considering service at this location. After many years as an Apple customer, this experience has led me to reconsider my future with the brand.

Privacy & Encryption Trashed by Apple & UK Government

Its so outrageous and against all privacy laws that the UK government has won a battle with Apple in the UK courts to access Apple customers data which is stored on icloud - Yes that means photos, contacts, passwords etc, etc.

Crazy.... if the UK government has access to this data, so do hackers, russians, chinese etc.

Passwords for banking, crypto all at risk in UK.

Sad to say, i am saying goodbye to Apple products and the UK where there is no freedom of speech. Clearly the apple is rotten and it has fallen off the tree.

Apple should just leave the UK market in boycott, sooner or later they will see sales decline next year and will be caught with their tail between the legs and leave the UK market in embarrassment. Do the honourable thing and leave. You have sold out without caring for your customers. Your choice should have been no investment in UK.

I hope TRUMP puts as many tariffs on the UK in retaliation.

Biggest disappointment in the history of smart products!

Simply an American catastrophe. Nothing really works as intended or as they proclaim it would work. Tje customer service had me talk to four different people, excluding the AI. The AirPodsPro 2nd Generation USB-C are definitely NOT worth more than 40 to 50 €. The find my function is a JOKE! This specific function is just a bait for people to pay a lot more. You can get the cable ones (usb-c) for 20 €.
The huge problem with this company is, that they are nowadays thinking they are the ONLY company to sell genius tech products. They are NOT! People have options and so do I. I will keep the MacBook Pro (maybe, also not sure anymore), but the iPhone has to be sold. It's trash / garbage / Müll.
People: compare the products and mix them up. This is a free world. It's not (yet) called iPlanet!

No longer the customer caring company one day was

I’m mostly disappointed, that’s why I’m writing this review. Long story short; I bought the new iPad mini, took the unopened box with me to the gym and in 10 minutes it was stolen from my locker, police came and made the report as stolen object.

I payed for Apple care but apparently theft isn’t covered for iPads. I also tried to get the iPad blocked so the thief won’t be able to use it or sell it, but Apple support said that’s not possible either, they could do as they please with the stolen iPad.

So here I am, a loyal Apple customer for more than a decade, and the company that’s supposed to deeply care about its customers isn’t providing me any support. Unfortunately I’m too deeply rooted into the ecosystem, otherwise this sort of thing makes you rethink your relationship with a company.

time to say goodbye

I have been an Apple customer for 25 years and have bought every iphone model for myself and my company since the first one. Certainly more than 100 devices. Since the first Iphone, I have always carried my cell phone in my pocket, sometimes even sitting down with it. Today I found out from Apple that I am not allowed to do this with an Iphone 15 Pro and that there is therefore no warranty on my 2-month-old device. No goodwill either, of course.
