how does a company not have a customer service number...

My Chatr phone plan ,anniversary date 06th July 2026.
Paid $39.85,then I have decided to switch the existing plan with an yearly plan, got charged again the entire fee for yearly plan ,no refund.
The explanation was : MID - CYCLE .
For them ,the same day ,few minutes later means middle - cycle .
What can I say ?
Internet is poor, customer service is awful...

Chatr operate their billing in the same way as their Parent company Rogers. I have a payment anniversary date of 4 July. Early in the morning onn4 July , I applied a new card to my profile at 530am, only to find that they day before my payment anniversary date, Chatr tried to take a payment from my old card, failed and deactivated my account. I do not understand how a company can do such a thing? Take payment early, then hence it fails deactivate the customer. It's the same as theft. Their business ethic sickens me.

The customer services at Lansdown mall, Richmond ,BC is the worst. No eye contact while I was talking ( the staff was looking at the computer in front of him). He also graded my phone without asking. In addition, he lost his temper, yelling at me when I tried to explain to him what the problem is. I was shocked and left.

The internet stops working out of nowhere! I had myself stuck multiple times in the middle of nowhere because of that and I couldn't unlock a bike, connect to maps, get a cab, etc.!
Once it's gone, there's no way to figure out how to connect it back, or when it will ever connect back. It may take days! I tried getting support but the Chatr team straight off denied the issue because they couldn't replicate it?!! After weeks of raising a complain, they'll provide some generic steps like restarting the device, etc. as if I haven't tried literally every possible option already out of desperation!

Imagine being a girl and this happening at the worst possible hour! Moreover the Chatr team not owning up to these issues is even more infuriating!!
Extremely frustrated with Chatr!

My experience with Chatr Mobile has been very disappointing. The connection is unreliable, and I often have trouble hearing the other person on calls. Calls frequently drop, making the service frustrating and unreliable.

When I try to bring up these issues, they don’t actually work on fixing the problem. Instead, they try to push me toward a different plan that costs more, which I cannot afford. It feels like the focus is on getting more money rather than resolving service issues.

Overall, the lack of effort to fix on going problems and the constant push to upgrade plans is unacceptable. In my experience, customer service and network reliability are not priorities.

I would rate this company zero stars if possible and would not recommend it.

How does a company with only 1 star reviews remain in business? Call me cynical but i think rogers (and others, bell!) do this on purpose so you upgrade to the monopoly players plan. Shame on them!

Got new phone for end of 3 g...everything good till last week in Ottawa and I see this week too.. ..bad signal all the time..GARBAGE GARBAGE GARBAGE..

Worst phone connectivity and data service I’ve ever experienced. Calls constantly drop, even while sitting at home, and the customer service is absolutely terrible.

I switched from Rogers and realized on the very first day that it was a huge mistake. They locked me into a 3-month period, and despite multiple complaints, nothing was ever resolved. Once they take your payment, they seem to stop caring completely. No refunds, no compensation, and no effort to fix the issues.

I spent hours emailing their support team, answering all their questions, and sending screenshots as proof. They kept giving me hope that I would receive a refund or compensation, but after wasting so much of my time and energy, they ultimately refused to do anything.

This has been one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had with a telecom company. Beware — I would strongly recommend avoiding Chatr services.

Prepaid plans are awesome yet the amount of scammer calls is off the charts! I get minimum five per day from 250-575 numbers.All claiming to be from a Bank i dont even deal with.

Its been 3 days now that I have been without that data I pay for for the second month in a row. Pissed!

I got an esim from Chatr and signed up for an automatic plan. I was never able to send text, not receive phone calls. The prepaid plan was already zero without using the service at all. I logged tickets, but no help. I tried to cancel the plan, but no apparent way whether via phone or online. Stay away from Chatr!

I opened 3 accounts on the same fday, and closed them also on the same day. I had to pay for the full month of fees. Which is fine, I figured as much. But, today is now 1 month later, and they are taking the funds from my bank account again. I cannot get a hold of a live person at all. To submit a ticket online, it says I have to create an account, but I can't do that, since none of the account numbers (phone numbers) are active with them, so it is literally impossible to correct this. Now I have to take time out of my day, go find an actual Chatr retailer, and try to get them to fix this in person. I am worried they can't help, because they don't usually deal with billing issues. I should have known better. I ddn't know until after they were owned by Rogers, which is the absolute worst ever.

I would NEVER recommend using Chatr. It's a scam and you cannot get a hold of a live person.

*update* I went to a retailer and he was able to cancel the charges for me. No refund though. He confirmed that Chatr does not have live agents. It’s all automated. So good luck ever trying to get a hold of anyone on the phone, because you never will.

If I could put zero stars, I would. They were absolutely most ridiculously stupid customer service set up where you can’t ever talk to anybody and all they do is send you a stupid link over and over again that does absolutely nothing. If you’re not gonna service people just shut the stupid thing down.

Without going into detail, I’d strongly advise staying far away from Chatr based on my worst experience. The service and overall customer experience were shockingly bad, easily among the worst I’ve dealt with. If you’re currently using them, I’d strongly recommend switching to another provider as soon as possible, you’ll save yourself a lot of unnecessary frustration.
