Rackhams operates as an online marketplace, working with independent retail partners who manage their own stock and fulfilment. This is a common model used by many online retailers, allowing us to offer customers a much wider selection of products at often much better value.

While our partners are responsible for maintaining accurate stock availability, they operate under Rackhams' oversight, and we remain responsible for ensuring customers are supported when something doesn't go to plan.

In this instance, once it became clear that our partner was unable to fulfil your order, we stepped in and processed your refund rather than leaving you to resolve the situation directly with the supplier.

We appreciate that this doesn't make up for the time lost, and we acknowledge that you should have been informed sooner that your order couldn't be fulfilled. We'll be reviewing this with the relevant partner to understand why the stock availability wasn't accurate and why the issue wasn't identified earlier.

Regarding your refund, once processed by Rackhams, the time taken for the funds to appear in your account is determined by your payment provider, typically within 3–5 working days.

We understand your frustration and regret that we weren't able to supply the product you ordered. However, we hope our decision to intervene and issue the refund demonstrates that we do take responsibility for our marketplace partners and act to protect our customers when problems arise.
