McCabes Pharmacy group is a 100% Irish owned and operated chain of pharmacies and was founded in 1977 when Roy and Margaret McCabe returned home from Australia after emigrating 10 years earlier. They understood the need for a more complete healthcare solution, one that encompassed both traditional health care and dispensing along with new market leading services such as Cholesterol and blood pressure health checks. The group grew over the years with three of the four McCabes sisters all being involved in the business, involvement that continues to this day. McCabes Pharmacy group now operates over 30 stores nationwide and continues to be a pioneer in the Irish pharmacy market, offering the innovative products and exceptional service that Roy and Margaret founded the business on 40 years ago

Online purchases (creams)

I will never buy anything from them again, firstly they are a UK company so you’ll pay extra charges, secondly they sent me the wrong products (3) which I couldn’t return at the pickup shop (McCabes in Kimmage) and thirdly it’s taken copious emails and a phone call to get a refund 5 weeks later!! Awful service, truly shocking. Very frustrating.

Ruth a star assistant

I visited mccabes supervalue shopping centre blanchardstown village today and met a very helpful assistant called Ruth. She helped me with some purchases and gave me great advice. Helped me to set up the app on my phone to get some great savings. Heard her helping other customers too and top marks for her friendliness and help. A pleasure to deal with her. A real gem as she went that extra step to assist everyone. Well done Ruth. Thanks so much and will be back to your store again.

Awful experience

Awful experience. Discrimination towards me as a female, refused a medication to me saying they didn’t have it. My partner got it for me 10 minutes later…! Reporting this and will never be back. Horrible customer experience. Reported to the CCPC.

Misleading offers information

I am updating this review following further and more positive engagement with McCabes customer service team. I experienced what I felt was misleading or at the very least insufficient information about special offers online. I tried to purchase several vitamin/supplement products, which each displayed as Buy One get Second Half Price. But when I went to my basket to complete the purchase after selecting the products, the reduced prices were not displaying for all the items. When I contacted customer service about this issue before proceeding with the purchase, they told me only two products qualified under the offer. This information was not displayed anywhere to me during the selection or purchasing process so I felt it was very misleading. So instead, I made separate orders for the products involved - most arrived as ordered except for the most expensive one of all - They only sent me one and then refunded the half price one. I would not have made the purchase if I’d known I was going to be paying full price for Just one. I felt this was very shabby treatment. So I emailed them again and said I wanted to return the product to get a full refund instead. The next day I have to admit I got a very nice phone call from Eimear in customer services. She said they would refund half of the full price product instead of me returning it – which would’ve been a lot of hassle as I would’ve had to pay for the postage. I was very happy to have the matter resolved but from start to finish it was a very frustrating experience and I will not be shopping with them again.

Faulty product

I purchased a pill box with two departments in it at mc cabes in the square tallaght. It was exactly what my husband needed a small pill box he could take to work in his pocket. But unfortunately when I got home one side was broken ,it wound not stay closed.
My husband did not take the receipt as he did not expect it to be damaged when opening packaging. When I returned to chemist 3 days later I was told I would have to go online as there policy she pointed to behind counter on side wall (you would need superman vision to read) stated. When I got time I sent an email which was a complete waist of time as when they finally got in touch they said I would need to go back to where I purchased the product from. What a complete and utter run around. All they needed to do was exchange the faulty product which only cost 4 euro 45cents.Instead I lose out money and am stuck with a faulty product. Nice customer relations mc cabes thanks

If there was a zero star I would leave…

If there was a zero star I would leave it. Unbelievable rude pharmacist. Outrageous. I brought a prescription in which had three things on it. When leaving I thankfully checked the bag only to see only two items in it . The reply I got was oh that’s over the counter. I said well I don’t mind but I just fend it filled. Was handed a box and I said I need a label on it with instructions, omg the pharmacist said as beyond rude. Said I should have said if I wanted that bit of prescription filled (eh I did hand you a prescription!!) anyways horrible staff v rude . If I could report her to medical council I would!

Do not go to McCabes in Blanchardstown…

Do not go to McCabes in Blanchardstown beside Supervalu. The staff are crass, short change their customers in terms of tablets, cannot read prescriptions correctly, hand out wrong doses & must be supported in giving out correct change, as they can't count. A dreadful experience.

Mc Cabes in Baltiglass co Wicklow don't…

Mc Cabes in Baltiglass co Wicklow don't seem to like people with medical cards especially if it's from a dentist or a hospital..They frequently tell people that it's not a proper prescription or that it's out of date. They will however still give you the drugs if you pay the full amount for them and not the standard few quid with the medical card

McCabes SuperValu Knocklyon

I ordered a prescription from SuperValu in Knocklyon. They took my phone number and told me that they’d ring me when it was ready. I hadn’t gotten a phone call by the following day. They couldn’t find any record of my order. The upshot was they’d put my medicine in a bag for collection by a different customer with the same name as me. Absolutely disgraceful. If I hadn’t called in to chase things up myself someone else would have gotten my medication.
