⭐☆☆☆☆ I did not feel safe using Grab as a solo traveler in Bali.
I used Grab because I was told it was the safest and most reliable option, similar to Uber. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite.
I entered the correct destination near my hotel, but the driver took me to an isolated road surrounded by trees instead of my destination. I was alone and felt extremely unsafe. When I told him it was the wrong location, he said he didn't know the address and insisted I had to pay for a new trip from that isolated location back to my hotel.
The original Grab fare was 27,000 IDR, and because he had taken me to the wrong place, I was forced to pay an additional 50,000 IDR in cash to get back to my hotel. In total, I paid 77,000 IDR for what should have been a 27,000 IDR trip. I paid because I was frightened and just wanted to get out of the car.
I'm sharing this because other solo travelers should know to watch the route in the app, never feel pressured into off-app cash payments, and report anything that feels unsafe immediately. I hope Grab investigates this seriously because no one should have to experience this.
Waiting 3 hours just to get a cancelation
Absolutely terrible experience with Grab. We waited three hours for our food, only for the order to be cancelled in the end. After wasting three hours waiting, we were left with no food and no reasonable explanation.
What makes the situation even worse is that Grab can apparently hold onto the money for up to 40 days after the cancellation. So not only do you lose hours waiting for an order that never arrives, you may also have to wait weeks to get your money back.
This is completely unacceptable. If Grab cannot fulfil an order, customers should not have to wait three hours just to have it cancelled — and they certainly should not have to wait up to 40 days for their money to be returned.
Very disappointing service. I would strongly recommend thinking twice before relying on Grab for food delivery.
Terrible taxi service
Terrible taxi service. Most of the drivers cancel the trip after accepting it and making you wait 10 mins or more. You don’t get compensated and when you try to rebook the fares all double
Lied to justify my complaint
Should really have read reviews before downloading the app and using it. My second trip in KL, I was met by the rudest driver ever,
AHMAD HAZRIN BIN HASHIM in a dirty black Honda (WC8008Y).
No greeting or assistance with liggae but complained about how I loaded the luggage.
He even tried to cheat me by not wanting to give me my change.
I complained to grab and ended up being threatened by them after the driver obviously spread lies to cover himself.
WOW. If you have to use grab, make sure you avoid this driver.
Lies & incompetence from Grab Help Centre Malaysia
I would leave zero stars if this was possible.
Last week, I left my phone, condo access card & keys in a Grab in Kuala Lumpur. A friend called Grab Help Centre and they told us the driver had searched his car and found nothing. So I had to buy a new phone and get a locksmith to get into my flat.
Much later, when the Grab app finally downloaded on my new phone, I contacted the driver. That's when I discovered that at the time Grab told me he was searching his car, he was actually rushing to prayers and couldn't search his car! So Grab lied to me outright. How could their help centre employee be so nasty and vindictive?
After his prayers, the driver searched his car, found my stuff and messaged Grab to tell them. What did they do? They sent a message to me using SMS!! What sheer incompetence! Why not use the Grab app?
Luckily the driver was an helpful man who met with me to return my things. This was 12 hours after my whole ordeal began - an ordeal that could have been avoided had Grab Help Centre not lied.
When I filed a complaint with Grab, they admitted it was their fault but had the gall to say that they don't do compensation, even though I was out-of-pocket by over RM 4k, not to mention the stress and hassle over an entire day. I screamed at them down the line and a few days later they came back with an offer of RM 50. That's even more insulting.
Whatever you do, do NOT call Grab Help Centre for anything! Grab is the epitomy of a faceless corporation that could not care less about its customers. I wish there was serious competition for Grab in this market. They think they can do anything because people will always be forced to use them.
Grab’s product design has become terrible
Grab’s product design has become terrible.
1. Showing closed stores when I’m simply trying to order wine — basic UX failure.
2. Terrible customer support when something goes wrong — useless and frustrating.
3. Incompetent product management that allows these basic failures to exist, wasting company money, damaging the product, and driving the customer experience into the ground.
People responsible for this level of product incompetence should not be running products at Grab.
One star only because zero is not an…
One star only because zero is not an option.
I was a happy, repeat Grab customer. After this ride in Indonesia, I’m done.
The receipt speaks for itself:
Initial booking total: IDR 226,800
Final total: IDR 310,000
Adjustment: +IDR 83,200, almost 37% more
The driver did nothing wrong. The IDR 19,500 toll was real and correctly paid.
The rest is on Grab.
The final bill included IDR 16,000 Platform Fee, IDR 23,000 Foreign Service Fee and IDR 15,000 Airport Surcharge.
Grab already knew I was using its platform.
Grab already knew which card was registered.
Grab already knew the pickup was at the airport.
These were not unforeseen costs arising during the ride. They were known before I booked.
And this is the point: burying a charge somewhere in legal terms is not transparency. Showing it clearly before the customer accepts the price is.
Showing IDR 226,800 and ending at IDR 310,000 is exactly the kind of pricing practice that makes customers feel deceived.
This is not about a few euros. It is about commercial ethics, deliberate opacity and trust.
You did not lose a customer because of the amount.
You lost one because of the method.
Goodbye, Grab. Permanently.
Bad experience with my iPhone left on a Grab car in Saigon
I left my phone on a Grab ride on 24/8/2026 in Saigon District 8. I tried to call Grab customer service many times in the app help center but no one answered. I then wrote a detailed report in the app help center what happened. I even sent them the Grab car license plate number recorded from my residence security camera when the driver dropped me off. Grab Vietnam specialists (Tien Pham and Phú Tieu) didn’t help me at all. They told me to check my emails which i did but they didn’t resolve my case. Then they told me not to use my email but to use the app help center instead. I am going back to the USA in 2 days. It appears my missing phone would become a stolen one. I give Grab a negative star for my bad experience.
Frustrating
Frustrating. I am not giving anyone my selfie just to ride a taxi!
Greedy and bad money logistics
Never use bank card as a payement method, they will take the money instantly from your account when You order but when the shop cancels it it will take days to get the money back or even the will forget about it and won’t give you back unless you spam the customer service
How come when taking the money it takes them seconds but when giving it back I need to wait days and argue with a stranger just because i want my money back
For a cheaper transportation rates, switch to Bolt app. For a cheaper food delivery rates, switch to Line man. (Thailand)
WOOOW The worst customer service!!!
I paid extra for Priority Delivery on Friday, August 14th, but the driver completely ignored it and drove around making multiple other delivery stops first as I saw him on the live map.
By the time the meal arrived, it was severely delayed by 45 minutes, ice-cold, soggy, greasy, and completely inedible. This was the type of food that must be eaten fresh immediately; even reheating it was disgusting, and the entire meal had to be thrown straight into the trash. I had to pay out of my own pocket to buy food all over again, and not to mention the time wasted.
To make matters worse, Grab support had the nerve to offer an insulting 70 THB coupon for a 367 THB ruined meal. It has now been 4 full days (today is August 18th), and after repeatedly rejecting their pathetic token and demanding a full refund, Grab has completely ghosted me and refused to reply.
Grab takes your money for premium services, lets drivers violate delivery terms with zero accountability, and abandons customers when they ruin your food. Utterly disgraceful service and shameless customer support.
Also they are the most expensive app!
Grab Has Become Ridiculously Expensive and Driver Incentives Are Getting Worse
Grab’s food prices and fees have become ridiculously expensive for customers, while at the same time its own delivery partners are seeing incentives and reimbursements being reduced.
As a car delivery partner, removing the large-order reimbursement is especially frustrating. Large orders can involve significantly more effort, space and handling, yet the support and compensation for drivers continue to get worse.
Customer service is another major problem. Getting meaningful help when there is an issue often feels almost impossible, with little actual support or resolution.
Grab seems to be charging customers more while giving delivery partners less. Very disappointing direction for the platform.
The company frequently alters its…
The company frequently alters its delivery schedules. Online consensus suggests they pressure riders into accepting extra orders, a tactic that undermines both drivers and customers. I can't wait for another major shift in the delivery industry to disrupt their model.
Grab is the worst for purchasing and selling
This is a terrible platform, they are monster just try to wrap your money. The service is horible, they force you to call by paying and it lasts ever to be reached. Many things about Grab, but they absolutely not be supported or purchased. My bad experience on both client and merchant!
Grab Refused to Fix an Obvious Mistake
The restaurant sent the wrong items and omitted paid ingredients. I provided photo evidence to Grab Support, but they refused any refund or compensation and told me it was the restaurant's responsibility. Very disappointing customer service.
Ubud, Bali. Driver cancelled order after trying to extort extra money
Ubud, Bali. Driver cancelled our order after phoning me 4 times as well as messaging me - trying to extort extra money from me in order to deliver.
The merchant cancelled my ₱692 order…
The merchant cancelled my ₱692 order because the items were unavailable, yet the amount was still deducted or placed on hold on my debit card. Now I cannot use that money to order food elsewhere, even though the cancellation was not my fault.
Customers should not have to wait up to three working days to regain access to their own money when the merchant cancels the order. The app should either confirm item availability before charging or release the funds immediately. This is extremely inconvenient and frustrating, especially when someone is relying on that money to place another order.
This was without question one of the worst transport experiences I have ever had...
This was without question one of the worst transport experiences I have ever had.
What should have been a straightforward journey to my hotel in Bangkok took a total of three hours and fifteen minutes.
During that time:
* Five separate drivers accepted the booking and then cancelled, several of them at the last moment.
* The price increased significantly while I was repeatedly forced to rebook.
* One driver drove approximately 18 kilometres in the wrong direction, despite being given the hotel name, full address, map location and multiple screenshots showing exactly where I needed to go.
* I eventually had to stop the journey and arrange another taxi while my phone had only 3% battery remaining.
The hotel was not an unknown private address. It was a listed hotel in central Bangkok. Nevertheless, Grab repeatedly failed to match the correct location, and the drivers either could not find the pickup point, cancelled after accepting, or followed an obviously incorrect destination.
I sent an absurd number of screenshots and written explanations showing both the correct hotel and its location, yet I was still driven to the wrong part of Bangkok. A passenger should not have to act as navigator, technical support and dispatcher simply to reach a hotel booked through a major transport platform.
Grab cannot continue accepting payment from customers while taking so little responsibility for whether its drivers are capable of locating passengers and following the correct destination. There appears to be no meaningful quality control, no accountability for repeated cancellations and no effective assistance when the system sends a driver to the wrong place.
I lost more than three hours, paid an inflated fare, was left nearly without a working phone in an unfamiliar city and ultimately had to solve the problem myself.
This was not a minor inconvenience. It was a complete failure of the service from beginning to end.
I would strongly advise travellers not to rely on Grab when they need dependable transport in Bangkok.
Leaving 1 star everywhere I can leave
Leaving 1 star everywhere I can find because the company is being an a**
1. booked grab for my mum.
2. driver drop off my mum at the venue around 9.31am-9.32am.
3. driver did not end trip on the spot.
4. my mum met up with my brother, they were going for cruise vacation. at 9.48am my brother booked grab, the same driver took the trip.
5. 9.48am driver then completed my trip resulted with an upcharge $5 for changing dropoff point. got the information that both trip was the same driver from my mum, and the guy had went nearby for breadfast.
6. messaged the driver at 10am but got ignore (10pm no reply), so i went ahead and complain to grab service.
7. upon grab so call investigation (probably base on gps info instead of directly asking the driver), says that dropoff point changed after booking so extra $5, accuse we're at fault and they are victim but they goodwill so they refund my $5. I'm sure that was because your driver ended the trip at different location instead.
8. told grab service about the whole situation. they don't seems apologetic at all, just say problem resolve because money refunded.
9. no, problem is not resolved. it's not about the $5 anymore, it's your system or maybe the driver sneaky, you need to own up your mistake.
10. i deleted grab the next day after receiving their replies, downloaded gojek/tada instead to try
11. tips, do not use card payment because the driver can sneaky add charges or grab can anyhow add charges w/o telling you and play the victim, act as if they are the nice guy and never own up to their short coming.
12. am NEVER going back to grab if gojek/tada works for me.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. My order from Penang Chendul was delayed for almost an hour because the rider said he was waiting to collect another order from Hot Bird. These weren’t even orders from the same restaurant—they were from completely different places. Isn’t the rider supposed to collect my order and deliver it once it’s ready, instead of making me wait for another restaurant’s order?
