£600 FUSE
Where do I start. Took my car in with a yellow oil indicator warning light. £601 later, including a new oil indicator and fittings and a service and oil change all of which I didn’t need…multiple other visits and diagnostics tests, bravado super confident sales person…sorry technicians…patter that convinced me each visit would resolve the issue…and there’s this little thing…you know that thing that you check when your tv loses power, what’s it called…a fuse or something. Yeh it was a blown fuse under the bonnet, 3 screws and £1 fuse later…reluctantly from Halfords store :)…hey presto it’s fixed. Apparently they don’t check fuses. No of course you don’t they cost a £1, you prefer to rip people off first. Be warned and check your own fuses, as Halfords engineers or diagnostics technology won’t. Customer service was atrocious. How they failed to compensate and admit any error was totally beyond me. They also refitted my exhaust which was apparently loose and basically destroyed the rear lower spoiler as it was so close to the under side of the car it melted the plastic. So you can actually add another £300 to that. Again not interested in what I had to say on the phone or via email. This was the Durham branch. Others may be ok but wouldn’t count on it. Customer service is of course national so they practice what they preach at least which is 0 customer service in branch and centrally. Tbf the stores staff are usually pretty helpful…maybe they are under different management, or maybe you can’t have the wool pulled over your eyes when you can see what you are paying for. Either way neither will be getting any more £ from me, so you lose in the end. Genius policy guys. Even an apology would have meant something.
