Worst online banking platform ever
i have a business account with the Cooperative Bank. I don't need to view my account very often, but when I tried to log in it said my User ID had expired. Apparently it expires after six months. Ok, so I'd better log in more frequently. So, I phoned the helpline and was told I had over 60 minutes to wait. I didn't bother. Next morning I tried again and was told I had approximately 10 minutes to wait. I waited for 40 minutes. The person I spoke to was helpful, but I had to go through hoops to get my user ID re-instated. You have "tokens" on which to enter your pin and get a number to enter online - same as other banks. But when you enter your 4-digit pin it looks as if you can only enter 3 digits. When you enter the 4th it all disappears. This does give you a number to log in with, but it is seriously confusing when using it for the first time. However, worse than any of this is the AWFUL online banking platform. Instead of just being able to view statements for the last month, or six months, or the total history when you finally reach the bit where you put in the date you want to start from (and this isn't easy!) you have to "save template". Why??? It won't let you continue until you do. For goodness sake, if my b.p. wasn't raised already, it certainly would be after trying to navigate this website. The worst I've ever come across.
... following reply from Sammie I look forward to the improved online banking platform. I don't want to download the mobile app, which, if I understand correctly uses face and fingerprint recognition - I just like logging on via my computer. The "token" would be ok if only it didn't lose the 4th digit of your pin number and look as though all the numbers have disappeared until you press the OK button. I can't understand the reasoning behind that. Barclays pinsentry is simple and straightforward, unlike the Co-op Bank. What should also be addressed is the length of time it takes to get to speak with customer services, as mentioned by so many other reviewers. I expect MUCH better from business banking. In addition the telephone message could be made much more customer friendly by letting you know how many callers are in front of you. Just saying at the beginning of your call that expected waiting time is 10 minutes is not helpful if, during 40 minutes of waiting, this information isn't updated. Even so, business customers should not have to wait more than 60 minutes as so many other customers have experienced.
Finally, to my horror I discovered, from reading other reviews, that 0345 numbers are charged at premium rate. Checking on google it seems that it currently costs up to 16p per minute. If that is the case it cost me £6.40 before I even got to speak with an operator. The Cooperative bank must be making thousands a day just keeping customers waiting. Outrageous.
