Review of Currys

Absolutely appalling

Absolutely appalling, non existent customer care. Despite numerous calls and emails to Currys not a single acknowledgement of our complaint or the return of £500+ they refuse to return. The only thing we have received is an attempted scammer posing as a Curry's operations manager trying to tease financial information from us to commit fraud. Will not ever touch this company again whether online or the high street. Private summons issued, will update later.

Suspect 5 stars

When the vast majority of the 5 star reviews are given by reviewers on their very first and only 'review' and the text of the review is nondescript in detail, other than glowing, I believe they are none genuine .

Review of Shark Vacuum UK

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Still woeful

If you're looking for an efficient, easy to use vacuum cleaner this is definitely NOT the one for you. Shark seem to have forgotten what this device is used for and have produced a massively over complicated 'cleaner' with cheap and nasty materials and matching build quality.

The suction is immense and, in my opinion, ridiculous making vacuuming a carpet an arduous task. The cleaner head begrudgingly moves along the carpet as it tries to suck up the underlay or better still tries to east any loose fitting rugs. As for suggestion this machine is able to detect what surface it is cleaning, dream on, it hasn't a clue and will flash red and just stop working. When overriding the so called surface 'detection' mode it cleans ok but should you switch off to move an item and then continue the clever little thing has reverted to 'detection' mode and you have to start the process again to carry on cleaning.

The cleaner is heavy and, as previously mentioned , materiels and build quality are cheap and nasty. The plastic bin is made of thin fragile plastic, the hinges for both top and bottom emptying appear to be made and designed to break.

The electrical cord is similarly made of the cheapest of materials. Why oh why does any manufacturer of a corded electrical product think that the end user would be happy with a cord which immediately tries to return to its coiled stored shape, memory wire if you will, which snags repeatedly or tries to wrap around any obstacle.

This vacuum, full of totally unnecessary gadgets and gimmicks, will be going back. Shark engineers need to understand a very simple concept, just because you can doesn't mean you should!

My issue isn't the product

My issue isn't the product, it's the reviewers! When s company has an avalanche of glowing reviews, many of which only refer to the delivery times rather than the actual product, I question their authenticity. Click on any of these reviewers and you'll see what I mean. They always give 5 star reviews and mainly fail to make comment on the product itself. Call me old fashioned but I fail to see the merit in giving 5 star reviews if, for example, the product was absolutely useless but arrived on time!!!

Argument here to introduce a zero star rating

As this abhorrent company has never received other than one star reviews, I'm sure if there were an option to award zero they'd clean up, how is it they have an overall atrocious rating of 1.3 ? I'm sure the directors of this scam company won't give a flying _---k but in the interests of accuracy Trustpilot please respond. Thank you.

Review of Big Bus Tours New York

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

DON'T, GET A TAXI INSTEAD!

In a city with so much history and interest you might think, or hope, the commentary on the tour might be informative and accurate. Let me stop you right there! The commentary, I'd suggest, presumes the listeners to be 7yr old children. The inane and juvenile commentary delivered by two failed entertainers follows you around this iconic city. Whilst the tour does take in many of the attractions the promised informative commentary irritates and massively detracts from what should be an imersive and enjoyable experience. The Big Bus Tour company needs to understand their target audience, which currently they clearly do not, and provide fact based information delivered in a structured, intelligent format rather than the current puerile approach. Yes, Big Bus Tours, it can be done and if you choose to do so your pitiful reviews of the appalling experience you currently deliver might just improve!

Review of Big Bus Tours Washington DC

AVOID. ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH.

Just wished I'd read these reviews before wasting over £100 on this incredibly useless tour which avoided just about every attraction in this wonderful city which, as we later discovered , has so much to offer. I presume the abrasive driver was unfamiliar with the city and simply meandered his own handpicked dull and boring route. The provision of headphones is absolutely pointless as the minimal commentary is inaccurate, inane and juvenile. Most if not all the passengers on my trip disposed of them after several minutes of looped pipe 'music'. I had thought the Big bus tour New York was bad but Washington plunged to new depths. Absolutely appalling on every level. AVOID.

Review of Sytner Group

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

My advice - DON'T. ..........

My advice, through bitter experience of dealing with this dishonest and thoroughly incompetent company is to avoid, avoid avoid. Their mantra and training programme ethos seems to be lies and deceit, they just can't help themselves. Customer service, that's a laugh, promises from the remote site - wherever that is, they understand and will address all your grievances! Don't believe them, the staff Wakefield are better than that and will look you straight in the eye and tell you a pack of lies.
Couple this with the incompetence of their 'mechanics' and complete absence of after sales service and it truly is a match made in hell. So after spending hour after hour after relentless hour in the Wakefield hub don't believe that you've won any argument when they capitulate and award you with a free service or even and MOT. They'll have your car for a couple of days for the MOT and do more harm than good in any service. Don't do it!

One example from numerous inflicted upon us, after having the car serviced it broke down within 30 miles or so. This was 30 miles into our planned holiday destination. On checking for causation we found the engine oil had been massively overfilled (just as bad as insufficient oil) When I pointed this out to the clueless manager he shuffled off to get his 'head of tech' who dipped then oil. He then, in his hitherto unremarkable career had a light bulb moment, he started up the engine and let it run for a few minutes, (this is going to be interesting I thought!) On switching the engine off he plunged the dipstick into its holder where it remained for a nanosecond before he retrieved it. 'Look' he said proudly, pointing at the now reduced oil level, 'problem solved' he announced before walking off to, presumably, continue with his pocket billiards. Another totally dissatisfied customer shared with me his thoughts, 'these mechanic must be the rejects from Halfords'.Such is the level of incompetence at Wakefield Carshop it was pointless continuing to discuss the many issues weather it was mechanical, reported broken promises, deceit - trust me, when it all goes wrong they will lie, lie lie and lie again. Absolutely abhorrent company but can't help believing they're proud of this accolade .

If you've read this far then I suppose the most compelling reason not to give Carshop Wakefield your hard earned money is the position we now find ourselves. Despite the appalling service and promises we were given, despite the fact we've spent somewhere in the region of 45 -50 hours waiting and waiting for the service we paid for, despite holiday ruined, despite the habitual lies offered up by Carshop Wakefield and the overwhelming feeling of being scammed, repeatedly, by them we are now at peace having jettisoned their promises and taking the car to a competent and knowledgeable mechanic supported by a customer service team who actually do what they say they'll do.

I've made some serious accusations here, all can be corroborated via photos, video, correspondence and independent garage reports. Let's see what Lee or any of his other lieutenants have to say.

UPDATE.

Michelle, thank you for your response, it's a pity when ringing to rectify faults, many of which introduced by the humans you employ, isn't met with similar promptness. Regarding your response, you have clearly little or no understanding of the turmoil Carshop Wakefield has caused, as for satisfaction with any of the issues raised, the mechanics, the customer service, the empty promises, the incompetence, the lies have clearly never met with our satisfaction and 'reaching out' (for goodness sake stop with your superficial little buzz words) has proved pointless time and time and time and time and time and time again .........

Avoid, ghost company.

Thank goodness the item I ordered from this site was of low value. When I didn't receive the item I spent some time trying to find out where it was via the totally useless tracking number. The 'account' access doesn't fu cation nor do any of the 'help centre' links. A lucky escape for me, thankfully just a few pounds lost but definitely will not be using this site ever again.

Not sure how they make a profit

Not sure how they make a profit! The part I ordered was a heavy metal valve with a fairly fragile but integrated plastic filter. The filter protruded from the fixing and clearly needed carful packing to make sure the filter remained in place and attached whilst in transit. This was not done on the first posting, or the second posting or the third posting although the third one did, miraculously, arrive intact. Full marks though to espares who dispatched replacements straight away. The returned broken items must, I assume, impact on the profit margins but that's a matter for their management although it could impact on the customer if the part was needed in a rush, which wasn't the case for me.

My review is based upon the response by TPO to the huge number of complaints regarding their incompetence and miserable performance since their inception on this site. Check other sites and you'll find their reputation precedes them. Only complete bumbling buffoons would think that to copy and paste the same response to each and every complaint is acceptable or in fact better than no response at all.

Review of Petplan

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Rubbish

Rubbish. Insured my German Shepherd since a pup, she's 10yrs old now so I've paid roughly £6k in premiums. My second claim was last month for £420.00. So deduct, £95 excess + 20% of the OVERALL amount + prescribed foodstuffs over the critical period and they're proposing sending a cheque for £163.00 , for a claim they've had over 5 weeks.

You'll find most of the positive reviews for Petplan relate to new pet owners thinking they have 'peace of mind' as it was 'so easy to sign up'. When it comes to making a claim, not so easy. Also, bear in mind the vast majority of visits to the vet come well underneath the excess charged by Petplan and even if its 20 or 30 pounds over the likelihood is you'll not make a claim in the hope they'll be more receptive when you do. This is most definitely not my experience with Petplan.

My advise, put the cost of the premium away each month, it'll be significantly cheaper, you wont need to debate with Petplan to pay the vet bill and you'll more than likely find you've initiated a lovely savings plan which will show a large surplus over and above it's intended use.

I also discovered that Petplan had tried to convince my vet that the illness claimed for was in fact the same illness as my only previous claim, Petplan clearly trying to wriggle out of paying anything! Petplan 'Claim Team' seem appear to try anything to negate a claim and mistake their knowledge, or lack thereof, for a veterinary degree plus years of practise.

I have cancelled my policy with Petplan, to not do so would be simply throwing money away and enabling this company to perpetuate their disgraceful business.

Hi Stuart,

I am sorry you have had this experience with us when making a claim on your policy. Depending on which plan you are on and the age of the insured pet, will determine how the excess is deducted.

If you would like us to look into the claim for you, please may I ask you to email us at social@petplan.co.uk with your DOB, full address and the name and breed of your pet.

DON'T DO IT

Unfortunately there isn't the facility to award zero stars to this disreputable, disorganised, phantom company, who are truly deserving of such a rating. If you are even contemplating dealing with this company you would be well advised to think again. If you are of the belief you have secured a product at a reasonable price from them, rest assured the reality of dealing with Dixons will soon send your blood pressure skyward. DO NOT TOUCH THEM WITH A BARGE POLE.
