docs(specs): add the GitHub sessions spec for the GitHub auth epic - #1351
norrietaylor wants to merge 15 commits into
Conversation
The session-side sibling of the three specs written for the GitHub sign-in and credential-free repository access epic. It binds the sign-in command, the remote-session gate, the in-session credential path, the declared repository set and child-session scope; the identity plane and the browser approval page are sibling specs in their own repositories. Decisions recorded with dates in Design reasoning. Three open questions are amendments to the architecture of record and are marked HIGH. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: Matches its stated intent exactly — one new spec file, no other paths touched, sized like the sibling specs it lists (identity plane, CLI sign-in page) as separate documents.
Clobber: None. Pure addition; git log on docs/specs/ shows nothing reverted.
Correctness: The document is unusually careful about its own consistency — requirement IDs (GHS-001..017) are sequential with no gaps, every EARS clause matches its stated pattern (Ubiquitous/Event/State/Optional/Unwanted), and every cross-reference I traced (including the unlinked 'earlier GitHub-sessions PRD', which turns out to be a real but never-merged branch commit) resolves correctly. One gap: the Security considerations section lists four invariants with explicit covered by: backing, but omits one for GHS-017 ('end its child sessions' GitHub access' when a parent ends) even though the Non-goals section treats that requirement as the load-bearing bound on live child access after a parent terminates — see the finding below.
Could not check: The PR body claims an advisory spec-lint pass against this tree; that linter (gominimal/foundry:spec/spec_lint.py) is a private external checkout not available in this sandbox, so I could not independently re-run it.
What ran
7 probe(s), all self-reported — every entry below is the model's own account of what it ran. None of it is host-attested, so none of it can gate a blocking verdict.
Verification log
1. Read the full new spec file end to end against docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md — self-reported
Frontmatter fields, EARS phrasing, tier/property/harness field combinations, and section set all match the template introduced in #1307. No section is missing; Open questions is present and non-empty.
2. grep for GHS-0NN across the file to check requirement ID sequencing — self-reported
GHS-001 through GHS-017 are unique and sequential with no gaps or duplicate IDs; every ID used in Design reasoning, Non-goals, and Security considerations resolves to a requirement that exists in the Requirements section.
3. ls docs/specs/ and check 12-spec-github-sessions is a fresh, non-conflicting number — self-reported
Existing specs are numbered 01-11; 12 is the correct next number and this is the first spec written against the new template (landed in 67e6085 immediately prior in history).
4. git log --oneline -15 -- docs/specs/ (and the new spec's own path) — self-reported
Pure addition of one new file; no existing spec or other doc is touched or reverted.
5. Traced 'the earlier GitHub-sessions PRD' non-goal reference via git log --all — self-reported
Resolves to commit 7b9b5f3 ('docs: add the PRD for GitHub-integrated minimald sessions') on unmerged branch origin/claude/minimald-github-prd-r6ew53, at the old path docs/specs/10-spec-github-sessions/10-spec-github-sessions.md. It was never merged to main, so the unlinked prose reference (rather than a doc link) is correct as written, not a broken link.
6. Compared the Security considerations invariant list against every requirement it names 'covered by' — self-reported
GHS-013/014, GHS-003/004/005, GHS-015 and GHS-008 each back an explicit Invariant bullet. GHS-017 (parent end ends child GitHub access) is not backed by any Invariant bullet, despite being framed elsewhere in the same document (Non-goals, 'Ending a session's own GitHub access...') as the mechanism that bounds live child access after a parent ends.
7. rg for 'child' across crates/sessions and crates/minimal to sanity-check the -p minimal verify targets for GHS-016/017 — self-reported
Child-session spawning logic (autospawn.rs) lives in crates/minimal, not crates/sessions, so targeting '-p minimal' for GHS-016/017's tests while '-p sessions' is used for the pure reach/subset decisions (GHS-003/004/005/015) matches the existing crate split; not a defect.

Custody decision revised the same day: no GitHub credential exists in the session or in the guest. A host-side facade holds the session's token, hands the session credential-free addresses, refuses an out-of-set request with a 403 before it reaches GitHub, ends the grant with the session, and audits every decision. The alternatives declined are recorded in Design reasoning; the facade's absence from the architecture of record is the first open question. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: matches the PR body exactly — one new spec file, no other surface touched.
Clobber: none; net-new file, nothing reverted (git log on the path shows only this epic's own two commits).
Correctness: the document is unusually well fact-checked against this tree already. I re-verified several of its own claims: the existing minimal login mTLS command really does collide with the architecture's sign-in naming (crates/minimald/src/net/proxy.rs), the T2 tier's Kani lane really exists (scripts/kani.sh, crates/sessions/src/core/policy.rs, 6 harnesses over PathDecision), and -p minimal end-to-end tests against a real minimald are already the established pattern (crates/minimal/tests/git_remote.rs). Prior review-thread findings on the reach definition, local sign-in on unenrolled daemons, and refresh tokens all read as addressed in this revision and are not re-raised. One residual gap: GHS-020's 8-hour credential lifetime and GHS-021's secret-free audit trail ar
8000
e security-shaped bounds with no corresponding Security considerations invariant, unlike every other credential/reach/lifecycle requirement in the doc.
Could not check: the external cross-repo links (gominimal/gatehouse, gominimal/webapp, gominimal/inbox) and whether the sibling identity-plane and approval-page specs actually exist yet — those repos aren't in this tree.
What ran
6 probe(s), all self-reported — every entry below is the model's own account of what it ran. None of it is host-attested, so none of it can gate a blocking verdict.
Verification log
1. grep repo for an existing sign-in/cert command to check the LOW open question's factual claim — self-reported
crates/minimald/src/net/proxy.rs:348-367 confirms
minimal loginalready mints a client certificate for the mTLS reverse proxy CA, unrelated to GitHub identity. The doc's claim that this name collides with the architecture's sign-in command name checks out.
2. check whether a Kani lane already proves a pure-decision lattice, as the T2 tier text asserts — self-reported
scripts/kani.sh and crates/sessions/src/core/policy.rs (mod kani_proofs, 6 harnesses over PathDecision) confirm an existing Kani lane in the sessions crate. The T2 claim is grounded, not aspirational.
3. check whether -p minimal end-to-end tests are an established pattern for daemon-backed behaviour — self-reported
crates/minimal/tests/git_remote.rs and cli.rs already spawn a real minimald and drive it through the CLI, so
cargo nextest run -p minimal <name>for daemon/facade-backed requirements matches existing convention rather than misplacing the test.
4. cross-check .review/threads.json prior findings (reach definition at line 51, local-signin-enrollment at line 126, refresh-token/GHS-013 gap) against current text — self-reported
All three appear addressed in the current revision: reach is reconciled as workbench-union-declared in Design reasoning, the local/unenrolled-daemon gap is now an explicit HIGH open question, and refresh-token handling is folded into GHS-013's discussion. Not re-raised.
5. search sessions/minimald for existing parent/child session hierarchy code — self-reported
No parent-child session concept exists yet anywhere in crates/sessions or crates/minimald; GHS-015/016/017 describe net-new epic behaviour, not an inconsistency with existing code.
6. map each Security considerations invariant's covered by: list against all 22 requirement IDs — self-reported
The five invariants (lines 378-409) cite GHS-003/004/005, GHS-013/014/018, GHS-017/019, GHS-015, and GHS-008. GHS-020 (8h credential lifetime) and GHS-021 (audit without secrets) are not cited by any invariant despite being security-shaped bounds — basis for the reported finding.

One repository-set definition, the workbench project plus the declared repositories, used by the reach refusal and the child subset alike, so an empty declaration can never reject the workbench. Refresh tokens named in the no-credential requirement. Renewal stated as re-minting against the same set. Invariants added for the 8-hour hold and the secret-free audit record. The acceptance-criteria authoring comment removed from the stories; the requirements are the binding form. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com>

Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: Matches the stated intent exactly — one new spec file, the CLI/daemon/facade sibling of the GitHub-auth epic; no other files touched.
Clobber: None. Net-new file across all three commits on this branch; nothing reverted.
Correctness: This spec has already been through two rounds of bot review (coderabbit, github-actions) and every prior thread carries an author reply pointing at the commit that addressed it — reach-set unification, refresh-token coverage, the two added Security-considerations invariants for GHS-020/GHS-021, etc. I did not re-raise any of those. One small gap survived those rounds: the first Security-considerations invariant (line ~375) claims credentials stay out of a session's "filesystem, environment and memory," but its own enforced by: clause and its covered by: requirements (GHS-013, GHS-014, GHS-018) only name a filesystem+environment scan and host-side custody — nothing tests or enforces the memory clause. Everything else — ID stability across GHS-001..022, tier/verify/property/harness fields matching the template's contract, crate names in verify: lines (-p minimal, -p sessions) matching real workspace crates, and the Non-goals/Open-questions destinations — checked out.
Not checked: Whether cargo nextest test names collide with anything already in the tree, and whether the referenced Gatehouse/architecture section numbers (INV-1, AT12, §6.4.1, etc.) are accurate — both require access to sibling repos outside this checkout, not a build.

Verification log
1. grep -n -i 'memory' on the new spec file — exit 0 · self-reported
The word 'memory' appears exactly once in the whole document: in the first Security-considerations invariant. No other passage discusses process memory, and no requirement's verify/tier fields mention it.
2. Read GHS-013/014/018 verify commands and the invariant's enforced-by text — self-reported
GHS-013's named test is session_fs_and_env_hold_no_github_credential (filesystem+environment scan). The invariant's own 'enforced by' clause names only 'the scan of the session filesystem and process environments' plus the facade's host-side custody (GHS-018, which covers the guest-VM part of the claim). Neither names a memory check.
3. git log --oneline -15 -- docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/ — exit 0 · self-reported
File is net-new across this PR's 3 commits (c9274cf, 6963039, e5058a6); no prior content is reverted or clobbered.
4. Cross-check .review/threads.json against the current file text — self-reported
All 7 prior review threads (coderabbit, github-actions) already carry an author reply (norrietaylor) citing the commit that addressed them, e.g. the reach-definition unification and the two added Security-considerations invariants for GHS-020/GHS-021. None re-raised here.

An unresolvable request target is refused before GitHub; a request is attributed to exactly one live session before it is decided, and a cross-session address is refused; no request is forwarded for a session after it ends, admitted or not; the 8-hour bound is the access credential's and the facade never holds the refresh token. The credential invariant now claims only what its requirements cover. The gh open question names the candidate mechanism, the enterprise host override, and what is still unknown about it. Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: matches intent — the diff is entirely the one spec file, and every hunk in the second-review commit (4b57c1f) traces to a specific resolved thread (GHS-023 request-binding, GHS-024 no-refresh-token, the unresolvable-target failure edge, the GHS-019 end-race edge, terminology and invariant cleanup). No unrelated content.
Clobber: none. git log on the file shows a clean four-commit chain (add → review → review → this PR); nothing outside that chain touches the path.
Correctness: one leftover inconsistency from the terminology unification (see finding). Otherwise every prior review thread's stated fix is actually present in the current text: GHS-013 now names refresh tokens, the ownership sentence names the facade, GHS-023/GHS-024 and their Security-considerations invariants exist, and the open questions list was narrowed rather than closed where the team said it would stay open. Nothing here needed a build — this is prose and requirement IDs, not code.

Verification log
1. Read pr.json, pr.diff, repomap.md, learnings.md, threads.json, TEMPLATE.md — self-reported
Confirmed this PR is a docs-only spec (single new file, docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md) answering review threads from earlier rounds. All 13 existing threads in threads.json are resolved.
2. git log --oneline -10 -- docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/ — self-reported
Four commits build the file incrementally: initial add, then three rounds answering bot/human review. No unrelated history was clobbered; the file has no prior version outside this chain.
3. git diff 6963039 4b57c1f -- docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md — self-reported
Isolated exactly what the head commit (answering the second review) changed versus the prior round, to review only the newly-added text rather than re-litigating already-resolved threads.
4. grep -n 'declared set|GitHub access scope|repository set' on the spec file — self-reported
Thread 1 (coderabbitai, Major) demanded one consistent repository-reach definition; the fix (recorded as resolved) renamed the concept to 'the session's repository set' = workbench + declared, and GHS-015's own requirement text was updated to that phrasing in this very commit. The Security considerations invariant covering GHS-015 (lines 454-455) still reads 'GitHub access scope that is a subset of its parent's', the pre-fix phrasing the resolved thread was about.
5. Read docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md tiers/EARS section — self-reported
Checked whether the newly added GHS-023/024 (T0, no property/harness) violate the template's tier-field-agreement rule. They do not: T0 requires only a named test, which both have.

…s proxy The architecture of record superseded the host-side facade on 2026-09-06 with sealed secrets redeemed at a Box Egress Proxy. This revision binds the session's side of that path: a session holds only a sealed value it cannot open, its spec must declare github.com egress to hold a grant, the interception authority is installed only when a grant is declared, connections to credentialed hosts are steered to the proxy with QUIC blocked, and a local daemon enrolls itself on first GitHub use. The facade requirements are withdrawn and their identifiers retired. Five open questions the architecture answered are closed; two new ones are raised. Scope: docs-only, one new file (docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md), matching the stated intent of moving this spec from the withdrawn host-side facade onto sealed secrets redeemed at the egress proxy. No clobber: nothing else in the tree is touched, and git log on this path shows a clean, incremental sequence of prior review rounds this commit continues.
Correctness: the rewrite is thorough and internally consistent everywhere I checked requirement IDs against the withdrawal list, the Security-considerations covered by: links, and the two still-open (but now outdated) GitHub threads — one of which (the GHS-015 wording mismatch) I confirmed is already fixed in this text. One real gap: GHS-005's 'cannot be resolved to one identifier' failure edge lost its definition when the facade-era paragraph explaining what a request's target is was deleted along with the rest of the facade language; the requirement and its named test survived the deletion, so the term is now undefined in a document whose whole point is testable, self-contained requirements. See the finding.
Not checked: the cross-references to the sibling gatehouse/webapp specs and architecture doc (Gatehouse §6.10, F16, AT12, etc.) are outside this repo and weren't fetched.

Verification log
1. rg -n -i 'resolv|identifier' docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md — self-reported
GHS-005's failure edge ('cannot be resolved to one identifier') is the only place in the current document that uses resolution/identifier language. The paragraph that used to define a request's target ('owner and name compared the way GitHub compares them, with or without a trailing .git, in any of the address forms git and gh emit') is gone from this revision, and nothing replaces it.
2. git diff 4b57c1f 4e2aa73 -- docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md — self-reported
Confirmed the deletion is this revision's doing: the 'What a request targets, and who it belongs to' Design reasoning paragraph (present in 4b57c1f) is removed in 4e2aa73 as part of retiring the host-side facade, while GHS-005's target-resolution failure edge and its named test (unresolvable_target_is_refused_before_github, run under -p minimal, i.e. this repo) are kept verbatim.
3. check whether the still-open threads.json entry about GHS-015's invariant wording mismatch is still live — self-reported
Checked and dropped: the Security considerations invariant now reads 'grant a child session a repository set that is a subset of the parent's repository set' (line 432), which matches GHS-015's own wording exactly. The open thread's complaint no longer applies to the current text, so not re-raised.
4. grep -nE secret-token patterns (ghp_/gho_/AKIA/BEGIN.../xox) over pr.diff — self-reported
No credential-shaped strings in the diff; this is a docs-only PR touching a single new markdown file, so the dependency/secret cheap-checks don't apply.

Narrow the 403 to requests that carry the session's sealed value, as the epic's token-scoped criterion and the architecture's anonymous pass-through both say; the definition of what a request targets now lives in the identity spec. Local sessions sign in at start when their spec declares a GitHub grant, replacing the in-session prompt the creation-time architecture cannot honour; a grant-less session's GitHub operation is told what is missing. Name the GitHub host set (github.com and api.github.com) in the egress, steering and interception requirements; state the 60-second revocation window; scope attribution to session, agent and task boxes with the tenant downgrade as an edge; default a session with a grant to its own network address; keep grants on local daemons the fabric cannot pin. Close the egress-enforcement and own-address open questions. Co-Authored-By: Claude Fable 5.1 <noreply@anthropic.com> Claude-Session: https://claude.ai/code/session_01QtucHmiu7AmiS7hc7EqoGC

Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: matches the stated intent — a single new spec file for the session-side of the GitHub sign-in epic, no unrelated changes. Clobber: none; the file is net new and its own commit history (c9274cf..dfdee6d) is purely additive. Correctness: this is the fourth review round on this document and it shows — 21 prior threads (coderabbit + the repo's own bot) are all resolved, and most of the obvious gaps (repository-set definition, refresh-token custody, revocation window, attribution scope) are already tightened. Two things survived this round's structural check, both below:
- GHS-022's egress requirement, combined with GHS-030 only forbidding
NoNet(notHostNet) alongside a grant, implies a session can keep the shared-network (HostNet) address and still hold a valid GitHub grant with a declared egress — which the Design reasoning states outright. But the existing, already-merged networking spec (R2.1) and thesessionscrate'sRecord::validate_policyboth treat any declaredegresson aHostNetPTask as a hard validation error. As written, aHostNet+grant session can never satisfy GHS-022 without tripping that pre-existing rule. - A failure-edge sub-bullet under GHS-010 describes a session that has no GitHub grant, but GHS-010's own precondition is a session that has one — the edge belongs under GHS-009 instead.
Nothing here needed a build to check; both are readable from the spec text plus the existing 03-spec-networking doc and crates/sessions/src/lib.rs.

Verification log
1. rg 'egress' docs/specs/03-spec-networking/03-spec-networking.md — self-reported
R2.1 in the existing, already-merged networking spec states an
egresssection is valid only forOwnIpmode and that specifying it on aNoNetorHostNetPTask is a parse-time error.
2. Read crates/sessions/src/lib.rs Record::validate_policy and EgressPolicy/NetworkMode — self-reported
Confirmed in code:
validate_policyreturnsPolicyError::EgressRequiresOwnIpwheneverself.policy.egress.is_some()andnetwork != NetworkMode::OwnIp; the doc comment states egress is 'only meaningful for an OwnIp PTask' since HostNet shares the host's namespace.NetworkModedefaults toHostNet, notOwnIp.
3. grep threads.json and learnings.md for network-mode/egress/HostNet/OwnIp prior discussion — self-reported
No hits in either file for hostnet, ownip, own address, or shared address/namespace — this conflict was not raised or dismissed in any of the 21 prior review threads on this PR.
4. Read GHS-009/GHS-010 requirement block and the paired design-reasoning paragraph (lines 107-121, 273-286) — self-reported
The sub-bullet's own precondition ('a session that declares no GitHub grant') is the negation of its parent GHS-010's precondition ('a session ... declares a GitHub grant'); design reasoning still calls it 'GHS-010's edge' rather than nesting it under GHS-009, whose precondition it actually matches.
5. git log --oneline -15 -- docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md; grep for secrets in the spec — self-reported
Clean, purely additive commit history for a new file; no clobber of unrelated work; no credentials or tokens present in the document.

Scope: matches the stated intent — one new spec file, the session-side third of a three-repo epic, no other files touched. No clobber: this is a new path with a clean, incremental commit history on top of main.
Correctness: two structural issues survive from the file's existing (unresolved) review threads and still hold against the current text:
- GHS-022 (egress must admit github.com/api.github.com to hold a grant) and GHS-030 (only
NoNet+grant is rejected) together implyHostNet+grant is a valid combination — and Design reasoning says so explicitly ("a spec that sets the shared address explicitly keeps the grant with that residual"). But the already-merged networking spec's R2.1 makes declaring anegresssection a parse-time error onHostNet. As written, aHostNet+grant session can never satisfy GHS-022, so the combination Design reasoning describes as supported is unimplementable. - The failure-edge sub-bullet under GHS-010 has GHS-009's precondition (no grant declared), not GHS-010's (grant declared, not signed in), so per
TEMPLATE.md's own convention it's nested under the wrong requirement.
Did not need a build to check either — both are checkable from the doc text plus the already-merged networking spec and template.
Couldn't check: whether the identity-plane and website sibling PRs (gatehouse#1, webapp#757) actually match the boundaries this document assumes; that's cross-repo and out of scope for this diff.

Verification log
1. rg egress/HostNet/OwnIp rules in docs/specs/03-spec-networking/03-spec-networking.md — self-reported
R2.1 states an
egresssection is valid only forOwnIpmode and that specifyingegresson aNoNetorHostNetPTask is a parse-time error. GHS-022 in this PR requires a declared egress admitting github.com/api.github.com for any GitHub grant, and GHS-030 only rejects the NoNet+grant combination, leaving HostNet+grant seemingly valid per Design reasoning lines 358-359 ('a spec that sets the shared address explicitly keeps the grant with that residual') even though such a spec cannot declare a compliant egress list under R2.1.
2. grep GHS-009/GHS-010 preconditions and docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md sub-bullet convention — self-reported
TEMPLATE.md states a nested sub-bullet is failure/edge behaviour that qualifies the requirement it sits under. The sub-bullet at lines 117-121 has precondition 'a session that declares no GitHub grant', which is GHS-009's precondition (declares no grant), not GHS-010's (declares a grant while unsigned-in) that it is nested under.
3. check .review/threads.json for prior unresolved comments on these two points — self-reported
Both points were already raised by a prior automated review (github-actions, MEDIUM confidence 0.68 for the egress contradiction at line 220 anchor, LOW confidence 0.58 for the sub-bullet placement at line 121 anchor) and neither thread has an author reply or resolution, so they are still open and not covered by learnings.md.
4. rg for secrets and leftover agent narration in the new spec file — self-reported
No credential-shaped strings and no self-referential/narration comments found; not reporting either.

This work is prioritised above the identity plane's own build order: the egress proxy and sealed delivery are built with it, and no interim credential path ships. Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: Matches its stated intent — one new spec file, no other surface touched, consistent with 'one spec per surface owner' and the two sibling PRs linked in the body.
Clobber: N/A — new file, nothing overwritten.
Correctness: This PR is the tail of a long, already-heavily-reviewed chain (27 prior threads, 23 resolved with fix commits from coderabbitai and this same bot). I re-read the full document rather than trusting that history, and it holds up well: the retired GHS-014/018/021/023/024 identifiers are consistently not reused, the old host-side-facade custody model has no orphaned requirement left behind, and the reach/child-subset/attribution logic is internally consistent with the Security considerations section.
Four threads are still open and unresolved (not re-raised here, since re-posting an already-live bot comment just adds noise): the GHS-010 sub-bullet's precondition negates GHS-010 itself and actually matches GHS-009's, and a HostNet-plus-grant session is left valid by GHS-030 even though docs/specs/03-spec-networking reportedly disallows that combination.
One small thing I don't think has been flagged: the HEAD commit ('close the phase-gap question') deletes the HIGH open question but leaves a doubled blank line under the ## Open questions heading (see finding). Separately, the PR body still lists that same HIGH question as open even though this commit removes it — worth a body edit before merge, though it's not something I can anchor as a line finding since the body isn't part of the diff.
Nothing here needed a build; this is a prose/structure review of a Markdown spec.

Verification log
1. Read pr.json, pr.diff, repomap.md, learnings.md in full — self-reported
Docs-only PR: one new file, docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md (514 lines). learnings.md has no entries recorded yet, so nothing to suppress.
2. Read all 27 entries in threads.json (path, resolved, outdated, first comment) — self-reported
23 of 27 threads are resolved/outdated (coderabbitai and a prior run of this same bot, all replied to by norrietaylor with a fix commit). 4 remain open and unresolved (indices 23-26): a network-mode-HostNet-plus-grant gap versus docs/specs/03-spec-networking R2.1 (posted twice, lines ~177/220), and the GHS-010 sub-bullet whose precondition negates GHS-010 and actually matches GHS-009 (posted twice, lines ~121). Both are still present unchanged in the current file. Not re-reported here since they are already live, unresolved threads at the same anchors.
3. grep -n '^- \*\*GHS-' and cross-check requirement IDs against the retired-ID list in Design reasoning — self-reported
IDs present: 001-013, 015-017, 019-020, 022, 025-031. Missing IDs 014/018/021/023/024 are explicitly named as retired facade-era identifiers in the Tiers paragraph (line ~424) and are not reused elsewhere. Consistent.
4. grep -n -i facade docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md — self-reported
All three remaining mentions of 'facade' are in Design reasoning explaining why the host-side-facade custody model was rejected in favour of the sealed-secret model; no leftover facade-model requirement or inconsistent claim remains in the requirements or invariants sections.
5. Read lines 495-515 (Open questions) directly from the file on disk — self-reported
Confirmed a doubled blank line between the '## Open questions' heading and the first remaining item, left over from the HEAD commit (57b5632) deleting the HIGH phase-gap question's four lines without collapsing the blank line that used to separate it from the next entry.
6. git show dfdee6d / 42c5d9f / 4e2aa73 -- the spec file, to see what the last few commits actually changed — self-reported
Confirmed the GHS-010 sub-bullet (open thread 24/26) and the GHS-022/GHS-030 HostNet gap (open thread 23/25) were introduced by dfdee6d and are unchanged by the two commits after it; the HEAD commit 57b5632 only touches the 'Nothing ships between sign-in and the proxy' paragraph and the Open questions list.
7. Compare PR body's open-questions summary against the current Open questions section — self-reported
PR body states 'One HIGH: what sessions can do between the identity plane's second and fifth build phases' as still open, but the HEAD commit (title: 'close the phase-gap question') removes exactly that HIGH item; the file now has zero HIGH items, two MEDIUM, two LOW. The body text wasn't updated after the last commit. Not a line-anchored finding (PR body isn't in pr.diff) so raised only in the summary.
8. find docs/specs -name '*.md' | xargs grep -l 'verify:' to check for an established convention on which crate a session/daemon-behaviour test belongs to — self-reported
Only TEMPLATE.md and this spec use the verify: field so far; no sibling spec to compare the '-p minimal' crate choice against for daemon-side behaviours (egress steering, QUIC block, CA install). crates/minimal/tests already contains git_remote.rs, which is at least weak precedent for git/session-level integration tests living in that crate. Dropped as a finding for lack of a comparator to confirm it's wrong.

Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: matches intent — one new spec file for the session/daemon side of the GitHub-sessions epic, no other files touched, no dependency or CI changes.
Clobber: none; this is a new file, and git log --oneline on the path shows only this doc's own prior commits.
Correctness: the substance is sound. This spec has already been through 28 review threads (coderabbitai + an internal bot panel), every one resolved, and the fixes described in those threads' replies are reflected in the current text (GHS-030 now refuses a GitHub grant on both none and the shared host address; the grant-less-session edge sits under GHS-009, whose precondition it actually shares; the doubled blank line before ## Open questions is gone). I did not find a live correctness or security gap beyond what's already been resolved.
One mechanical defect survived the last edit: relocating the GHS-009/010 edge in commit 716df8a also bumped GHS-009's own verify: line to the sub-bullet's indent depth while leaving its tier: line alone, so the requirement's own metadata pair is now split across two indentation levels — see the single finding below.
Nothing here required a build to check.
What ran

Verification log
1. Diffed 716df8a against its parent to isolate what this final commit actually changed — exit 0 · self-reported
git show 716df8a -- docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md shows this commit moved the GHS-009/GHS-010 sub-bullet and, in the same hunk, changed GHS-009's own
verify:line from 2-space to 4-space indent while itstier:line stayed at 2-space.
2. Compared GHS-009's tier/verify indentation against every other requirement in the file and against docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md's convention — self-reported
TEMPLATE.md (lines 141-146) and all other GHS-0xx requirements in this doc indent a requirement's own
tier:/verify:at 2 spaces and a nested edge sub-bullet'stier:/verify:at 4 spaces. GHS-009 is the only requirement in the file whose ownverify:line sits at the 4-space (sub-bullet) depth while itstier:line stays at 2 spaces.
3. Checked all 28 threads.json entries for prior coverage of this line — self-reported
None of the 28 existing threads (all resolved) mention GHS-009's indentation; the two threads about this sub-bullet (idx 24, 26) concern which requirement it should be nested under, not the whitespace of GHS-009's own fields, so this is not a re-raise.
4. Read pr.json, pr.diff, repomap.md, learnings.md (empty) and threads.json in full; cross-checked NetworkMode terminology against crates/sessions/src/lib.rs — self-reported
This is a docs-only PR adding one spec file. All 28 prior review threads (coderabbitai + github-actions personas) are marked resolved, and the fixes described in their replies match what's in the current diff (e.g. GHS-030 now refuses both
noneand the shared address, the GHS-009/010 edge relocation, the collapsed blank line before Open questions). No unresolved points remain to re-raise; the sole new issue found is the formatting slip introduced by the same edit that did the edge relocation.

Scope: Matches intent -- a single new spec file, consistent with the PR title/body (adding the GitHub-sessions spec) and pr.json's changed-files list. No unrelated files touched, no secrets, no dependency changes.
Clobber: One real regression, detailed below -- a prior review fix to the Security considerations section was silently dropped by a later commit in this same PR's history.
Correctness: The requirement numbering is internally consistent (retired identifiers GHS-014/018/021/023/024 are named and explained, and none of them has a stray requirement bullet). Tiers, verify crate targets, and the egress/network-mode requirements (GHS-022/028/029/030/031) are exhaustive against the three real NetworkMode variants (NoNet, HostNet, OwnIp) checked in crates/minimald-rpc/crates/sessions. One gap found and detailed in the finding below. Everything else checked (open questions, non-goals, cross-references between Design reasoning and Requirements) reads consistently; I did not attempt to verify claims that depend on the sibling identity-plane spec, since that document isn't in this tree.

It does not appear in any 'covered by:' list in Security considerations (lines 455-498), which has seven invariants covering GHS-013/027, GHS-003/004/005, GHS-015, GHS-022/028/029/030/031, GHS-026, GHS-008/010, and GHS-017/019.
2. python scan of .review/threads.json for prior GHS-020/8-hour comments — self-reported
Found a resolved thread: github-actions flagged (LOW, security, 0.55 confidence) that GHS-020 and GHS-021 were security-shaped bounds with no covering invariant. norrietaylor replied 'Addressed in e5058a6: two invariants added, one for the 8-hour hold covered by the lifetime requirement, one for the secret-free audit record covered by the audit requirement.' So this exact gap was fixed once.
3. git log -p --follow -- docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md, grepped for 'covered by' and GHS-020 — self-reported
Confirms the invariant 'THE SYSTEM SHALL hold no session credential longer than 8 hours ... covered by: GHS-020' was added in an earlier commit (matching e5058a6's fix) and then removed by commit 4e2aa73 ('move the sessions spec onto sealed secrets and the egress proxy'), which rewrote Security considerations and did not carry the GHS-020 invariant forward. GHS-021's invariant was also removed in that commit, but GHS-021 itself was deliberately retired ('belonged to the set-aside facade and are not reused', line 427-429) so that removal is intentional. GHS-020 was not retired -- it is still a live T0 requirement at line 168 -- so its invariant's removal looks unintentional.
4. grep every '^- **GHS-0' requirement bullet to confirm which identifiers are still live — self-reported
GHS-014, GHS-018, GHS-021, GHS-023, GHS-024 have no requirement bullet (consistent with the design-reasoning note that they were retired). GHS-020 does have a live bullet, so it's the one requirement in this set that should still have Security-considerations coverage but doesn't. Checked for repetition: no other live requirement lost its invariant in the same way -- this is one instance, not a pattern.

The invariant covering the sealed value's renewal and age was dropped when the section was rewritten for sealed secrets; it is back, and attribution reasoning names the service-rooted chain as the App's whatever its type. Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: One new file, docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md, matching the PR's stated intent exactly (the session-side spec for the GitHub sign-in epic). Nothing else touched.
Clobber: Pure addition; the 10 commits on this branch are successive edits to the same net-new file across review rounds, not a revert of anything merged elsewhere.
Correctness: This spec has already been through ~30 review rounds (coderabbit + a generalist bot) and almost every raised point has an explicit fix commit; requirement-ID bookkeeping (retired GHS-014/018/021/023/024), EARS tier/property/harness fields, and the network-mode/egress terminology all check out against docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md and the real NoNet/HostNet/OwnIp modes in crates/minimal/crates/sessions. One real gap survived the review history: GHS-003/GHS-004's Kani-checked property: still claims the reachable-repository set for any git operation is exactly workbench(+declared), but GHS-005 and the Design reasoning explicitly exempt requests without the session's sealed value (anonymous dependency fetches, 'passes egress-checked'). That exemption was added later (commit dfdee6d0) narrowing only GHS-005, and the matching thread on GHS-003/GHS-004 was never answered — see the finding below. Nothing here needed a build to check.

Verification log
1. Read full new-file diff docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md (524 lines, single new file) — self-reported
Confirmed the PR adds exactly one new spec file, matching pr.json's changed_files and the PR body's stated scope. No other files touched.
2. git log --oneline -- the spec file, plus git show on each commit — exit 0 · self-reported
10 commits build this file up incrementally within the same PR/branch (6963039..5d0c480), each answering an earlier review round. Confirmed dfdee6d narrowed GHS-005 to requests carrying the session's sealed value but did not touch GHS-003/GHS-004's property: text.
3. Diffed threads.json against current file text to check which raised points are actually fixed vs. just marked outdated by line drift — self-reported
29 of 30 threads have an explicit norrietaylor reply naming the fixing commit and the fix is present in the current text. Thread index 21 ('Resolve the anonymous-traffic contract', flagging that GHS-003/GHS-004 describe reach for git operations with no credential qualifier) has no reply and was only auto-marked outdated/resolved by line-shift from later unrelated edits; the property text it complains about is unchanged in the head commit.
4. Re-parsed the GHS-022/GHS-030 citation in the 'What the session side does for that path' paragraph (line ~340 of the file) for a possible wrong-requirement-ID citation — self-reported
Initially suspected (GHS-022) was misattributed and should read (GHS-030), since GHS-022 only governs egress-list contents and GHS-030 is what refuses grant+shared-address. On a second, more careful parse, 'a grant without one' most plausibly refers back to 'an egress declaration' (the nearest indefinite-article antecedent), which does map to GHS-022 as a logical premise feeding the GHS-030 conclusion stated in the preceding sentence. Disproved as a clear defect; dropped.
5. rg 'network mode|own address|shared host address' across crates/ and docs/ outside this spec — exit 0 · self-reported
Confirmed the spec's paraphrases ('no networking', 'the shared host address', 'its own network address') correspond to real session network modes NoNet/HostNet/OwnIp (crates/minimal/src/lib.rs:487, docs/specs/03-spec-networking) and that HostNet is documented elsewhere as the default this spec's GHS-031 deliberately overrides for GitHub-granted sessions. No mismatch found.
6. Checked docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md's EARS/tier/property/harness rules against every requirement's tier+field combination in this spec — self-reported
All T2 requirements (GHS-003, GHS-004, GHS-015) carry both property: and harness:; no T0 requirement carries a stray property: field. GHS-014/018/021/023/024 gaps are explicitly explained as retired facade identifiers. No template-conformance issues found.

…ecks for anonymous requests The reach properties now range over git operations carrying the session's sealed value, matching the narrowed 403. Every request that reaches the proxy is egress-checked with or without a sealed value; the non-goal names only traffic that never reaches it. Steering binds the outcome, not the mechanism, and the tradeoff of a proxy variable against node steering is recorded. Scope: Single new file, docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/12-spec-github-sessions.md (533 lines), matching the PR's stated intent — the session-side spec for the GitHub sign-in epic. No code changes, nothing outside the spec's own scope.
Clobber: N/A — new file, nothing reverted.
Correctness: This spec went through an unusually thorough review cycle before reaching this head commit: 32 threads from CodeRabbit and the repo's own review bot, every one resolved, spanning custody-model changes (host-side facade → sealed secret + egress proxy), the shared-network-address gap now closed by GHS-030, the 8-hour credential-lifetime invariant, and the reach-property qualifications added in the latest commit. I independently re-checked the specific claims behind the most recent five commits against the current text and against the already-merged networking spec's R2.1 (own-address-only egress), and everything the commit messages claim to have fixed is actually present and self-consistent in the head revision. Requirement IDs are unique, verify: test names are unique, the deliberately-skipped ID gap (GHS-014/018/021/023/024) is explained in-document, and the Security considerations covered by: list matches the requirements it names.
Not checked: Nothing here required a build — it's a markdown-only diff. I did not independently verify the identity-plane/architecture claims this spec depends on (Gatehouse §-references, the sibling specs in gominimal/gatehouse and gominimal/webapp) since those live outside this repository.
No findings. This is a well-scoped, internally consistent spec that already absorbed a heavy review pass; I found nothing new to add.
What ran

Verification log
1. rg -n 'GHS-0' spec, cross-tabulate every ID's occurrence count and its verify: test name — self-reported
34 requirement IDs (GHS-001..GHS-031, skipping withdrawn 014/018/021/023/024, which the Tiers paragraph explains as retired facade identifiers). Every verify: test name is unique; no duplicate or reused test names across requirements.
2. Read .review/threads.json (32 threads) against current file text — self-reported
All 32 prior review threads (CodeRabbit + github-actions bots + the owner) are resolved. Spot-checked the ones with concrete line anchors (GHS-022/030/031 shared-address gap, GHS-009 edge placement, the 8-hour invariant, the reach-property qualification) against the current text: each fix described in the resolving commit is actually present in the head revision.
3. Confirm the own-address-only egress precondition cited in Design reasoning against docs/specs/03-spec-networking/03-spec-networking.md — self-reported
grep for R2.1 in the networking spec confirms 'A PTask spec shall carry an optional egress section (valid only for own-IP PTasks)', which backs the sessions spec's claim that an egress declaration requires the session's own address, and thus that GHS-030 must refuse a GitHub grant on the shared address as well as on no networking. Matches the current GHS-030/GHS-031 text.
4. grep -in facade|anonymous|uncredentialed against the file — self-reported
Remaining 'facade' mentions are historical (Design reasoning describing the custody model that was set aside), not stale leftovers from the abandoned host-side-facade architecture. The one 'anonymous' mention is consistent with GHS-005's current scope (refusal binds only requests carrying the sealed value).
5. Diff the last 5 commits (76a1e79, 5d0c480, 77ae804, 716df8a, 57b5632) touching this file individually — self-reported
Each is a small, self-consistent fix matching its commit message (qualifying two property: lines, restoring a dropped 8-hour invariant, fixing indentation, moving a GitHub-grant-on-shared-address refusal into GHS-030, closing an open question). No new inconsistency introduced by these follow-ups.

The advisory-comment selector matched any comment whose body opened with the `<!-- spec-lint -->` marker, from any author. A quoted reply or a pasted lint report sorting ahead of the bot's own aimed the edit at a comment `github.token` cannot write; it failed, every step in the job is continue-on-error, and the run went green with the findings never posted. The selector now matches on author as well, and takes the first match across pages rather than the first of each page. Fixed at the source of record and copied back verbatim, which is the only way this file changes: foundry's spec-drift.yml diffs each installed copy against gominimal/foundry:spec/deploy/spec-lint.yml and fails when the two disagree. Also in this copy — a `::warning::` on the two quiet paths that were silent (a failed tree checkout, a failed changed-file read), the real reason `-e` is absent beside each `set -uo pipefail`, `# v3.2.0` on the app-token pin, and a note in the permissions block that `pull-requests: write` carries both the POST and the PATCH. Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope: the PR bundles two things: the new session-side GitHub-access spec (the stated intent) and a re-copy of the frozen, foundry-sourced spec-lint.yml workflow (the head commit, ci(spec-lint): re-copy the workflow after gominimal/foundry#85). The workflow itself documents why the two travel together — it triggers on docs/specs/** and is meant to be exercised by the first real spec PR after it changes — so this reads as deliberate, not clobber. Nothing in the diff reverts unrelated recent work; git log on both touched paths shows only forward-moving, on-topic commits.
Correctness: the workflow hunks are a set of bug fixes to the lint/comment job, each backed by a comment that names the failure mode being closed. I checked the two load-bearing claims independently: (1) the create-github-app-token SHA is unchanged, and the comment now correctly reads v3.2.0 — confirmed against upstream tags, both v3 and v3.2.0 point at that commit; (2) the rewritten 'find the existing spec-lint comment' lookup (stream .id per match, then head -1, instead of .[0].id under --paginate) is a real fix, since gh api --paginate --jq runs the filter per page rather than on the concatenated result — verified against GitHub CLI's own issue tracker. The new [ ! -d pr ] guard and the changed_out failure guard both close silent-failure paths that would otherwise be indistinguishable from 'no spec files changed', consistent with the job's stated promise that every step is advisory and non-blocking.
The new spec document (docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/...md) follows the template's EARS/tier format throughout (checked every tier:/verify:/property:/harness: block), the deliberately-skipped requirement ids (GHS-014/018/021/023/024) are explained in-document, and the spec number doesn't collide with an existing one. All 32 prior review threads on this PR are already resolved, and the current text already reflects those resolutions (reach-set definition, local sign-in gating, refresh-token custody). I could not run the actual spec_lint.py (it lives in gominimal/foundry, not this tree, and running it would mean fetching and executing an external script rather than reading code) or execute the referenced cargo nextest targets, so I can't independently confirm the linter accepts this file end-to-end; everything else checked out.
No findings worth raising.

Verification log
1. git ls-remote --tags actions/create-github-app-token for the pinned sha — exit 0 · self-reported
The diff changes the trailing comment on the unchanged create-github-app-token SHA from '# v3' to '# v3.2.0'. Confirmed via git ls-remote that bcd2ba49218906704ab6c1aa796996da409d3eb1 is tagged both v3 and v3.2.0, so the comment update is accurate, not misleading.
2. web search: gh api --paginate --jq per-page filtering semantics — self-reported
The new 'existing comment' lookup switches from '--jq map(select(...))|.[0].id // empty' to streaming '.id' per match then 'head -1', with a comment explaining that --paginate applies --jq separately per page. Confirmed via GitHub CLI issue discussion that this is indeed gh's documented behavior (each page is filtered independently, arrays are not concatenated before --jq runs), so the old code could return multiple ids across pages past ~100 comments and the new code is a genuine correctness fix, not a regression.
3. rg for secrets/credentials in .review/pr.diff — exit 0 · self-reported
Searched the diff for token/secret/key/password patterns; all hits are either references to GitHub Actions expression contexts already present before this PR (secrets.AW_BOT_PRIVATE_KEY, github.token) or prose in the new spec discussing GitHub tokens conceptually. No credential material introduced.
4. ls docs/specs/ to check for spec id/number collision — exit 0 · self-reported
12-spec-github-sessions is the next unused number after the existing 11-spec-lifecycle-hooks; no collision with the pre-existing duplicate '07-' pair (unrelated to this PR).
5. read .review/threads.json for prior review state — self-reported
All 32 existing review threads on this PR (from coderabbitai and a prior minimal-review pass) are marked resolved. Spot-checked several — reach-set consistency (GHS-003/004/005), local sign-in gating, refresh-token custody — and the current doc text (Design reasoning, GHS-013, GHS-025) already reflects those resolutions, so none of that ground needed re-raising.
6. grep the requirement block for tier/verify/property/harness field consistency — self-reported
Checked every GHS-NNN requirement's tier/verify/property/harness lines against the template's format; alignment and field combinations (T0 -> verify only, T2 -> +property +harness) are consistent throughout, including the two nested IF-sub-bullets under GHS-009, GHS-012 and GHS-026.

foundry#89 removes `status:` from the spec frontmatter. A spec on a branch is a draft, a spec on main is binding, and a spec is shipped when the lint resolves every verify: and proof: line. Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope. Matches the stated intent: one new epic spec (docs/specs/12-spec-github-sessions/), a process README for docs/specs/, and the spec-lint workflow re-copied from gominimal/foundry#85 (commit 8af17d7, which git merge-base confirms is inside this PR, not in the base). The workflow hunks are the sanctioned installed-copy content, so the frozen-workflow rule is not violated.
Clobber. None. The workflow changes sit on top of the latest re-copy and do not revert anything recent; no other tree was touched.
Correctness. The spec itself is internally well-formed: all 26 requirements are EARS, tier/verify/property/harness fields agree (only the T2 reach/child-subset decisions carry property+harness), every GHS-xxx cross-reference resolves except the five deliberately retired identifiers, and the verify: commands match the repo's cargo nextest run (justfile:306). The real problems are both in the new README: its "The format" paragraph contradicts TEMPLATE.md and the very spec it introduces (claiming no requirement IDs and Given/When/Then where the template mandates stable IDs and EARS), and its lint section points developers at scripts/lint-specs.py, which does not exist in this repo. One citation slip in the spec's design reasoning (a grant without its own address is "a validation error (GHS-022)" — that rule is GHS-030).
Not checked, and lower-priority observations folded here. The named nextest tests and Kani harnesses do not exist yet by design (the lint's expected findings), and I did not build or run them; the linter itself lives in gominimal/foundry and could not be read. The status-field change also leaves docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md still instructing status: draft while this PR drops the field (the template is a foundry copy; the commit message says the template is refreshed, but no re-copy is carried here). Worth a follow-up: the spec never states that the sealed-credential path is HTTPS-only — SSH remotes (git@github.com:...) are neither supported nor listed as a non-goal, and with github.com steered to an HTTPS egress proxy they would fail against the proxy.

Verification log
1. git merge-base --is-ancestor eeabf234 8af17d7 — exit 0 · self-reported
The workflow re-copy commit 8af17d7 is inside this PR (not in the base), so the spec-lint.yml hunks are the sanctioned foundry installed-copy content, not a frozen-file edit.
2. git ls-tree HEAD -- scripts/ (and base) — exit 0 · self-reported

6. python3 requirement-ID cross-reference over the new spec — exit 0 · self-reported
Every GHS-xxx reference resolves to a defined requirement except the five deliberately retired identifiers (014/018/021/023/024), which appear only as prose; no undefined references.
7. rg nextest justfile — exit 0 · self-reported
The repo's command for one test is

8. read .github/workflows/spec-lint.yml at HEAD — self-reported
The new shell guards (empty changed-list handling, author+head -1 comment lookup, missing-pr-dir warning) are sound under set -uo pipefail on ubuntu-latest bash; no defect found.
9. git show --stat 6719376 — exit 0 · self-reported
The status-field drop touched only the new spec and README; docs/specs/TEMPLATE.md is untouched and still instructs
status: draft.
10. scan .review/threads.json — self-reported

Verdict COMMENT — COMMENT: policy.actions.request_changes is off; policy.actions.approve is off.
Scope. The headline deliverable — the GHS sessions spec — is 535 lines of EARS requirements with tiers (three T2 harnesses), non-goals, design reasoning, security invariants and open questions. It is internally consistent on the checks I ran: every requirement carries tier+verify, the retired IDs GHS-014/018/021/023/024 match the design-reasoning note, invariant covered by: links resolve to existing requirements, and the EARS discipline holds throughout. Two files ride along that the PR body does not mention: docs/specs/README.md (new, ~112 lines of process docs) and a re-copy of .github/workflows/spec-lint.yml (traces to commit 8af17d7; the installed-file header mandates it and foundry's spec-drift check would fail without it, so it belongs even though it is unadvertised). The branch sits 15 commits on its base and was never rebased, which makes the diff read larger than the headline; worth a rebase and a description line for the two extras.
Clobber. None found. The workflow hunks extend the base copy rather than reverting anything (prior workflow history is a single install, #1307); the resolved spec threads are all addressed by commits still inside the PR range.
Correctness. The workflow changes verified clean: the changed-files capture + mapfile guard does what its new comment claims (command substitution strips trailing newlines, so the guarded empty case is the only one that matters — no phantom element), the rewritten lookup genuinely fixes the per-page .[0] bug it describes, and the # v3 → # v3.2.0 pin annotation matches the pinned SHA, which I resolved against the GitHub API. One new issue is filed: the spec's updated: 2026-09-08 frontmatter is two days stale at this PR's head, in the same branch that removed status: precisely because hand-declared state drifts.
Already raised, not re-filed. The README's two substantive contradictions (Given/When/Then and 'no requirement IDs' against TEMPLATE.md's EARS and XXX-NNN join key; the scripts/lint-specs.py run-it-yourself command for a script that does not exist in this repo — the linter lives in gominimal/foundry and is checked out at run time) and the spec's GHS-022/GHS-030 citation are all live unresolved threads on this PR.
Could not check. foundry's spec_lint.py and its finding codes are in a private repo that needs the App token, so the 'no other finding codes' claim in the body is taken on trust; the pull-requests: write-covers-comment-POST/PATCH permissions assertion is only corroborated by the installed copies' run record. Neither would have required a build.

Ran the added guard (

The spec was materially changed afterwards on this branch by 76a1e79 (2026-09-09, reach-property wording and the anonymous-request clause), 6719376 (2026-09-09, frontmatter status dropped) and d7adfd1 (2026-09-10, first slice rewritten to local-only). The field understates the last content edit by two days.
3. curl GitHub API: actions/create-github-app-token v3.2.0 sha — exit 0 · self-reported
Resolved refs/tags/v3.2.0 for actions/create-github-app-token via api.github.com: object sha is bcd2ba49218906704ab6c1aa796996da409d3eb1, exactly the pinned SHA. The diff's
# v3-># v3.2.0annotation fix is accurate.
4. bash test: comment-id pipeline capture under set -uo pipefail — exit 0 · self-reported
Verified
existing="$(gh api ... | head -1 || true)"stores the first id and degrades to empty when the upstream fails; the rewritten lookup (author+marker filter, streamed ids, head -1) behaves as its added comment claims.
5. read .review/threads.json, pr.diff, pr.json — self-reported
Two README defects (line 42: Given/When/Then + 'no requirement IDs' vs EARS and the XXX-NNN join key; line 91:
scripts/lint-specs.pydoes not exist in the repo) and the spec's GHS-022-vs-GHS-030 citation (line 372) are already live unresolved threads on this PR, so they are not re-filed here. 33 further spec threads are resolved. No thread covers the workflow hunks.
6. rg EARS/IDs across docs/specs + TEMPLATE.md — exit 0 · self-reported
Every spec requirement in the tree uses EARS with a stable XXX-NNN id; TEMPLATE.md line 89 mandates 'ID is XXX-NNN, stable, never reused' and line 93 'WRITE REQUIREMENTS AS EARS', confirming the README claim to the contrary is wrong (already threaded).
7. confirm pr.diff includes the updated: anchor line — exit 0 · self-reported
The spec file is new in this PR (index 0000000..be34e1b), so
updated: 2026-09-08(new-file line 7) is a reviewable added line.

Tell it when it is wrong. 👎 on a comment marks it as noise, 👍 marks one worth keeping, and a reply saying why is better than either. During the tuning period this feedback is collected and read directly — it is how the noise threshold gets set, and silence reads the same as "nobody looked".
Summary
The session-side spec for the GitHub sign-in and credential-free repository access epic, gominimal/inbox#512. One of three siblings, one per surface owner; the identity-plane and website siblings are linked below.
It binds: the sign-in command and the browser step it directs to; sign-in required for remote sessions and for local ones whose spec declares a GitHub grant, with a local daemon enrolling itself before its first such session; standard git and gh working inside a session as the developer against the real hostnames; a repository set of the workbench plus what the session declares, with any request carrying the session's sealed value that targets outside it refused with a 403 before it reaches GitHub; a session holding its GitHub credential only as a sealed value it cannot open, never a raw one; the session's spec declaring egress to github.com and api.github.com to hold a grant, and holding a grant only with its own network address, by default or refused otherwise; the interception authority installed only when a grant is declared; connections to credentialed hosts steered to the egress proxy with QUIC blocked; a session's end revoking its identity within 60 seconds; and a child session's set a subset of its parent's, with no prompt.
Decisions carried
Recorded in Design reasoning as decision, alternatives and reasons, without dates. Custody moved twice: from the architecture's in-session delivery to a host-side facade on 2026-09-03, then to the architecture's sealed-secret and egress-proxy model, ruled on 2026-09-06 and accepted here on 2026-09-08. The five facade requirements are withdrawn and their identifiers retired. Work from every box a developer's workflow spawns is attributed to the developer, which the architecture adopted on 2026-09-05.
Third review (2026-09-08, after the architecture's egress-gateway issues): the 403 binds credentialed requests, per the epic's token-scoped criterion; local sessions sign in at start when their spec declares a grant, replacing the in-session prompt the creation-time architecture cannot honour; attribution binds session, agent and task boxes; a grant defaults the session to its own address; GitHub grants stay allowed on nodes the fabric cannot pin, which a proposed baseline in gominimal/arch#40 would forbid; the GitHub host set and the GraphQL rule are bound ahead of the architecture, asked in gominimal/arch#44.

Open questions
No HIGH: the phase gap closes because this work is prioritised above the identity plane's build order and builds the proxy and sealed 8000 delivery with it, with no interim credential path. Two MEDIUM: mid-session widening, and consent display with second-session reuse. Two LOW. Closed in the third review: egress enforcement for uncredentialed traffic, now the architecture's egress-gateway chain rather than this epic's prerequisite, and the own-address default, now a requirement.
Verification
Advisory spec lint run against this tree: every finding is a named test not yet in the repository. No other finding codes.
