Awful experience with Carbon Law Partners.
Communication has been painfully slow and confusing from the very start. I’ve repeatedly had to chase for updates, and each time I’m left feeling like no one really cares about moving things forward. I’m now five months into buying a house and still don’t have a completion date. The lack of urgency, clarity, and ownership has made the whole process far more stressful than it needed to be. I wouldn’t recommend them based on my experience.

My recent experience of working with Laura Holmes and all her team has been very reassuring, despite the decision not to go ahead with the purchase of the flat that involved a very substantial amount of work on the part of Carbon Law Partners.
I was kept well-informed at all stages as matters progressed, with voluminous, relevant documentation promptly forwarded to me, covering all aspects of the planned purchase.
I cannot fault the very professional and friendly approach to all the legal matters raised, offered throughout by Laura and her team.

Carbon Law Partners handled my recent property purchase in a friendly, efficient and professional way. Their communication was excellent throughout, and they managed every stage of the purchase process smoothly. Colette and the rest of the team made the whole experience feel straightforward and stress-free, and I would definitely recommend them.

We bought a property where Carbon Law were the conveyancers for the seller. 18 months after sale and they still haven’t done their job with the HCA and Land Registry. They have been reported to the SRA as this is a breach. My conveyancers are still chasing for this. It is still not resolved. Do not trust them.

We recently completed the purchase of our first property with Carbon Law Partners acting as our conveyancer. As first-time buyers, we found the process to be complex and, at times, quite demanding, so having reliable and professional legal support was essential.

Our case was assigned to Laura Holmes. And Natalia Watts, and we appreciate the role they both played in progressing our transaction. Overall, the firm supported us through each stage of the process and helped us navigate what can often feel like an overwhelming experience.

That said, we would particularly like to acknowledge Justine Maltby for her outstanding support. During times when we found it difficult to reach others, Justine was approachable, responsive, and proactive in ensuring that our queries were answered clearly and efficiently. Her willingness to step in and assist provided us with reassurance when it was most needed.

From the solicitor’s side, Justine was also the person who confirmed that our purchase had successfully completed — a significant memorable milestone for us and a moment we greatly appreciated.

Usually, conveyancing can be quite slow and stressful. Thankfully, Connie Ramplin at Carbon Law tries hard to get things done. It sounds so straightforward but she really is magic when selling a property. Would recommend!

I was assigned this company by home legal direct to deal with the sale of my mothers home. She is in a care home and lacks mental capacity. When quoting for the job I was going to be charged an additional fee because of the extra work involving the legal power of attorney. After two weeks i get an email from the solicitor dealing asking for my mothers death certificate and order of probate. When I telephoned she had not seen the paperwork and was unaware of facts.
Then spoke to the partner supervising the job she was next to useless still talking as if my mother was dead.She told me it was apparently my fault when I originally replied to the conveyancing assistant and should have included the solicitor and the partner on the reply. In this company it seems they dont talk to each other or copy paperwork to each other.
I have now been reassigned a new company of solicitors by Home Legal Direct but beware before employing this company

Avoid at all costs, impossible to get hold of anyone and they still owe me £1200 7 months after my purchase.
They were acting for the seller in my purchase of a property. Both myself and the seller wanted a speedy completion and if it had not been for my Solicitors persistence hassling them for information which was always missing or incomplete, we eventually managed to complete after 3 months no thanks to them, however the worst was yet to come.
They could not even provide a completion statement after several wrong attempts they provided an incorrect completion statement resulting in them owing me £1200. They take weeks to reply to my solicitor and are trying to blame the seller whom has been very helpful explaining the situation. They never answer phone calls or respond to messages.
I’ve been purchasing properties for nearly 30 years and have never experienced such an incompetent firm of solicitors (if you can call them that).
Legal ombudsman man complaint is underway.
Don’t waste your time or money on Carbon Law, life’s too short.
They also provide a complaints email that does not accept emails from email addresses that are outside of their firm, really useful. I expect this is to avoid dealing with the deluge of complaints they receive due to their incompetence.

Mary Ann was amazing throughout, always kept me informed. Never had to wait for anything. From start to finish everything ran smoothly. Brilliant service!

Moving house is stressful no matter what but Maryann made the process as smooth as possible and was always contactable via phone or email. Fees were not the cheapest but the service was great and worth it for what we received. Would use again!
