Organising the logistics for such a trip is not easy, balancing transport needs, accomodating the group when Fort William is fully booked many months ahead, and most importantly, the guides role in managing expectations in terms of ability for a group of walkers of unknown ability. Mountineerin Ltd did an excellent job particularly in the first two, but I'd strongly recommend to rebrand the challenge as a "weekend back to back 3 peak challenge" and eliminate the artificial time element that depends heavily on how quickly you drive between the mountains.
The alternative is to preselect participants, perhaps on experience of running 10k or half-marathon, which reflects the level of effort and fitness required to meet the 24h challenge. As a team, we were able to meet the 24h timeframe, but it would have been more enjoyable (and more inclusive) for everyone to take it a little slower... Rather than expect the guide to have to tell someone they were not fit enough, or were slowing down the group.
There's always scope for improvement, but overall I've given 5stars because the logistics were so smooth.... The guide did a really good job at setting expectations and setting pace.. and we got to the bottom of the 3rd mountain approx 24hrs after starting climbing the 1st mountain...

Kieran promised us adventure and delivered it in spades. He was always assessing the weather and offered options based on that to ensure we were safe. Sailing across Loch Ness in one of four canoes tied together because of the wind and waves will be a memory I treasure.

This was an absolutely amazing trip and I would highly recommend it. Be prepared to work hard, but it is just so rewarding. Our guide, Geoff, was outstanding and really made it an adventure for everyone. The food was excellent and the equipment provided was first class. I can't think of a better way to really experience the Scottish nature than five days travelling across the Lochs in canoes. The average age of our group was around 50, so don't be put off thinking you can't do it.
Geoff, we'd like to thank you for making this such a special journey. We can't wait to start canoeing once we get back to Australia.

Where do we start,
Elin (Smellin) our guide was lovely,down to earth and through out the trip nothing was too much trouble, she was knowledgeable about best places to camp and an over night stop at the pub barge was entertaining !
The kit was awesome, tents really easy to erect and air mattress was comfortable, food was fresh and meals were flavoursome !
Trip was made by the others on it, an instant bond over sarcasm and conversation made the five days a pleasure !
Would have preferred more guidance on packing from the start, wasn’t really clear but if you fancy it just chuck all your kit into a couple of bags and be prepared to repack on the morning of your trip into a waterproof canoe bag ! Smidge is a must as is the head net they really don’t give up till they have eaten you lol
If it’s stunning scenery and a mild challenge you want this trip will tick those boxes sadly, till you get there you won’t know the others but if your lucky like us it will be a blast !

Just back from an amazing 5 days of canoeing and wild camping across Scotland. What a fab experience! Our guide Geoff was excellent, very knowledgeable and experienced. The group I was with were lovely and came from different walks of life with such interesting life stories. We pitched in and gelled really well, laughing a lot all the way. Wild camping and the portage were new to me as was canoeing but although it was challenging at times, (midges, strong winds, a wee bit rain and getting to grips with the portage)I'm very happy that I did it and lifetime memories have been made.

I would absolutely recommend this trip to anyone looking to do something a bit different or wanting a unique experience. It was the first time I'd ever done anything like this, and Nordic Paddling were absolutely fantastic from start to finish.

Our guide, Jasper, was incredibly knowledgeable, clearly passionate about what he does, and very patient with the whole group. He always took the time to explain the plans and itinerary, and when severe winds meant things had to change, he worked hard to keep the trip enjoyable and interesting despite the changes.

The kayaking and hike were all done at a sensible pace, which was great for me as I was quite nervous about my fitness levels and whether I'd be able to keep up. The trip felt challenging enough to be rewarding, but never overwhelming.

I also had a bit of a nightmare after losing my passport. The team went above and beyond to help me sort out the delivery of an emergency passport, which took a huge amount of stress off my shoulders.

All in all, it was a fantastic experience. The combination of an experienced guide, a well-organised trip and a genuinely supportive team made it something I'll remember for a long time. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this with Nordic Paddling to others.

The Canoe across Scotland trip was amazing. Geoff Potts was an fabulous guide with many years of experience. The kit provided and the packing list was spot on and very helpful.
We were challenged with wind, rain, tides and midges. Geoff not only taught us the basic techniques for canoeing but we also learnt how to be safe in various conditions along the way. We tied canoes together and learnt to sail when the wind was with us and we dug deep and paddled hard when the wind was against us. The food was great and we even had Haggis. This trip is not for the faint hearted and it is hard work but the reward of getting to the end of Loch Ness is fabulous. You just need a bit of determination and good camaraderie among the group to help each other along. The scenery and the spots for the wild camping were amazing.

Epic trip across Scotland in a canoe. Our trip was led by Geoff who kept us fed and going in the right direction and really allowed us to challenge ourselves. We paddled into headwinds and sailed along Loch Ness all under his expert guidance. I felt completely safe at all times knowing he was keeping us right.

Well organised experience. Fantastic guide and driver. Whole event ran smoothly. Would thoroughly recommend using them if you want to complete this challenge.

Had the best guide suzy for our three peaks challenge , she made the weekend very enjoyable by taking time to get to know every one of our team the goldstars , pushing us enough during the times I wanted to quit and kept us all going at our own paces

Our wonderful canoeing adventure along the 97km of the Caledonian Canal and through 4 lochs, including the immensely deep Loch Ness, with the professional guide Geoff and trainees Toby and Matt, was an amazing experience that I'll never forget!
We stopped for breaks at the side of lochs with stunning views viewed by few others, with Geoff making us feel safe and supplied magnificently with hot drinks and snacks.
Each evening, Geoff knowledgeably guided us to set up camp and a camp fires in the best places and swiftly cooked us a healthy, hearty, fresh meal.
All 11 of us got on so well and created a bond full of banter, care and friendship, with the 3 guides helping us all, became profficient paddlers!
I would highly recommend this trip.
You have to be willing to paddle for hours, put up and put down a tent each night independently, for wild camping, learn to live without a plug or even a toilet at times, and contribute to all aspects of your adventure but it really is worth it! You will be rewarded with an exhilarating adventure and new friends! Do it!

Brilliant experience climbing Mount Olympus! The kit list was spot on, communication was excellent, and our guide was fantastic — knowledgeable, encouraging and patient! 😂

This hike isn’t for the faint hearted. Plenty of general training and long walks to prepare, really helped to ensure the appropriate level of cardio fitness to make the walk challenging but achievable.

A really well-organised trip from start to finish. Highly recommend and looking forward to booking further adventures!

The guides - Kieran Monty & Chucky were brilliant - made me feel very safe & cared for. The group were very supportive of each other & great fun. The trip was very well planned, the food great, advice & directions spot on - one of the best trips of my life! I travelled on my own from Ireland, am 71 and would definitely recommend this trip if you are reasonable fit & independent minded!

Unbelievable experience that far exceeded expectations. The guides Chucky and Elin were professional from the start to the finish and nothing was too much trouble for them whether I needed to be shown something or to answer a question. I will definitely be back!

Recent sea kayaking trip around the Jurassic coast. It was great to meet some fun people, many solo travellers like myself. The instructors were skilled, fun and caring. The camp accommodation was glamping in bell tents, although they didn't advertise as such , so better than expected. Food was plentiful and they catered well for dietary needs. A thoroughly enjoyable time.

This was such an amazing trip! The St Anna Archipelago south of Stockholm is just stunning and you should definitely spend some time there. What made this trip even better was the thoughtful preparation (top equipment), organisation and (subtle and often hilarious) guidance by Thomas (co founder of 'do the North') and Eva Mackova. And if you then add a group of people who know what they have let themselves into and enjoy a sunset just as much as a torrential (but short) rainfall, then you are in for a fabulous time!!! Check out Do the North and go for it.

What a great trip. Took my grown up kids and had a blast. The kayaking was challenging - because of the weather conditions and the fact I had never done it before…but we were well coached. The hike was fantastic. Had so much fun. It wasn’t super easy and challenge me more than some of the group…but then why book a trip that’s easy? Our guide was phenomenal. Hats off to Gina-Luca…what a star. Informative, caring and good fun…he really added to our experience. His cooking was fabulous (and we weren’t easy as we had a coeliac and a vegan in our party). Everything was thought through. No hungry kids. Totally recommend this trip, and especially recommend Gian-Luca. Thank you for making it such a special trip. Will be checking out your other trips for our holiday next year. Thank you. Mx

Amazing Alpine Adventure!
My sister and I had a brilliant 4 days on this TMB highlights trip…definitely one for the memories. Our guide Sabrina (Sab) was such good fun and took excellent care of us especially on a super challenging (and super rainy) Day 2. Malou (trainee guide) joined us for Day 3 and 4 and was a lovely addition. Our group of 14 was a nice mix of solo travellers and family/friends across a wide range of ages (from late teens to early 70s) and were great company. Stunning views (even on our rainy day) and some special experiences like our lunch at Bovine. The FAQs and information before the trip managed our expectations well about the accommodation, food and facilities (the sweet/sugary breakfasts were the only surprise). Light IS right when it comes to packing. Physically challenging and not for the faint hearted. Delighted to have done it.
