Misleading delivery promises and very poor customer service…

I needed a map as a gift for my daughter’s wedding. Since I only had 12–13 days before I needed it, I contacted The Unique Maps through their chat to ask whether I could realistically expect delivery in time. The employee assured me that the order would definitely arrive before the wedding, so I went ahead and placed the order.
Then nothing happened for an entire week.
I started to worry that The Unique Maps had promised more than they could deliver, so I sent them an email. Several days passed without any reply. I also tried contacting them through WhatsApp messages and phone calls, but again received no response.
After numerous attempts, I finally got an answer. I was told that the map had been handed over to the courier and that it would arrive in time. More days passed without any update, so I contacted The Unique Maps again to ask for the status of the shipment. They apologized and said that the courier had still not delivered the package, but claimed that this was outside their control.
As a temporary solution, they offered to send me a high-resolution file so I could print the map myself and at least have something to give as a gift. However, the file they sent had their logo embedded all over the map, making it completely unsuitable as a wedding gift.
I then contacted the courier directly. They informed me that they could see a shipment had been created, but that they had not yet received the package from The Unique Maps. So it is hardly surprising that they had been unable to deliver it. In other words, The Unique Maps misled me when they claimed that the delay was caused by the courier.
About three weeks after placing my order — despite the website promising 3–4 days delivery — I finally received the map. The problem was that the wedding had already taken place, and my daughter had already returned to the United States. The map is still lying unopened in its shipping package because I have no use for it anymore. Therefore, I cannot comment on whether the quality of the product is good or bad.
I later contacted customer service and requested a refund. The Unique Maps refused. Instead, they offered me the same amount as store credit, but that is of no value to me. I certainly do not want to buy another map from them.
I wish they had simply been honest from the beginning and told me that they could not guarantee delivery before the wedding.

We are excited about our new custom map of our favorite ski mountain with our condo marked on it. The team was prompt in their communication and design process to make the map exactly the way we wanted it. We had them frame it and are very pleased with the whole process. I highly recommend if you are looking for something special and unique for your home.

I had bought 3 Botanical prints from Unique Maps Co. and had them shipped internationally. The prints are exactly as described and the quality exceeded my expectation. I saw the same prints sold elsewhere but the quality was rubbish. No regrets choosing here!

I had reached out to Dominic and team, a little worry about the shipment since that I had purchased the prints during Christmas season. I needn’t worry at all because true to reassurances given by the team (with prompt follow-ups), the prints were delivered right on time. Best customer service I’ve experienced, ever. Recommended to all new buyers, truly!

Phenomenal maps and they shipped real fast in the time I wanted! Very friendly service when they reached out via email too.

Order never arrived, ignored for two months until I threatened legal action.

I ordered from The Unique Maps Co. and the order never arrived. I contacted support and requested a refund — then heard nothing for two months despite chasing repeatedly.
The only reply I ever got was when I messaged saying I would report them to the authorities. Suddenly someone responded within minutes, explaining that the person handling my order was "on vacation" and that they had all "assumed" I'd received a replacement supposedly sent in mid-May. It never arrived either, and nobody had checked or followed up.
Rather than the refund I asked for, they offered to send yet another replacement. I've now had to invoke Section 75 with my credit card issuer to get my money back.
Whatever the quality of their maps, the fulfilment and customer service are not functioning. Order at your own risk.

Update: The company has publicly replied that a second replacement is "the best solution available." It is not — I requested a refund, which is my statutory right for non-delivery under the Consumer Rights Act, and it has been refused. I have now filed a Section 75 claim with my credit card issuer to recover the payment.

As I move house, again, I find that my desire for beauty and nostalgia stronger than ever. Imagine my absolute delight to find The Unique Map Company. They make available a deep and broad collection of quality prints of which I now own three. Top notch personal communication and reasonable dispatch times will help to solidify their continued success.

I wanted a special gift for my husband to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary (men are so hard to buy for) and The Unique Maps Co really delivered. Communication was fantastic, always very quick and they were very happy for me to keep tweaking my ideas and their map to get exactly what I wanted. The final product looks amazing and is great quality - it is a framed canvas of a UK map from our wedding year with 12 places special to us marked with a numbered dot - and a text box in the corner naming the places and their significance. We both love it! I would not hesitate to recommend the company and product. Thank you Dominic and Sebastian for all your help.

Beautiful map detail, historically accurate, lovely craftsmanship. Company was very responsive and also kept me informed throughout the process.

I had been searching for some time, for an artwork that was a little different to the usual stuff you find. I found that in the lovely 'Karikachi Mountain Pass by Hasui Kawase' print I ordered, although I was spoilt for choice. The print arrived beautifully framed and in very good time. I was kept well informed of any updates and received good communication from The Unique Maps company. I look forward to treating myself to another print again soon.

Couldn’t be more helpful from start to finish. There was no problem in that I wanted to send it to America. I was also able to change the frame colour after ordering. The map was swiftly despatched in America and arrived securely packaged. I was kept informed of the order all the way through the process and highly recommend Unique Maps.

I stumbled across the Unique Map Company and I am so glad I did!
I was looking for a unique and personal gift for my partner’s significant birthday. Having located an appropriate map on line, I worked with Sebastien and Dominic to add-in markers of very precise locations around a much changed city which in turn produced an amazing map.
Proofs were produced in order for my partner to check and the map finalized - I didn't want to get anything wrong :-)

This map was a discovery I had not expected. Purely by chance I saw the promotion of the company online. One of the maps, dating from 1938 was of Glasgow. It included the road on which my mother's family home was located! The rest of the details was first rate, including the Empire Exhibition, held in Glasgow that year. Modest homework told me of the options on size and style of the maps available. I ordered the one that suited me. Acknowledgement was immediate. Confirmation an dispatch details followed in jig time. When the map arrived I was delighted with its quality , excellent packaging and protection from damage. I obtained a frame within a couple of days. It has pride of place now in my living room. Thank you for a first rate purchase of the highest quality. A1 transaction - buy with confidence! I wish every success in the years to come.

The map looks great and matches what I ordered online. The service was good as well, the team is very helpful and goes out of their way to assist when needed.

There are a few areas for improvement, particularly the material used, which could be of higher quality.

We've just received our 1559 map of London, printed on canvas, 24 by 36 inches (cm will never catch on) and beautifully "float framed" in the finish of our choice, which makes it extra special . All individually crafted with great care. We're delighted. The quality is superb. It was VERY carefully packaged and reached us in pristine condition (despite the best efforts of the local delivery driver who will remain nameless). Many thanks to all at The Unique Maps Co.
