Really happy with my experience with Unique Maps. A personal whatsapp chat with them to discuss and design what I wanted, they were knowledgeable with material and sizing - offering astute recommendations on what they thought would work well for my design, and of course they were right!

Will likely use them again, only take advantage of their framing service this time that I wasnt aware of - as framing a silk map has been a pain!

The map is great . However for over $400 a map the frame should not have been made out of a cheap flexible plastic. When you lift it by this cheap frame the picture falls out. I call to inquire about this and they never responded. I would never recommend these guys. I’ll never buy another product from them.

The quality and uniqueness of the map offered allowed me to find a one-of-a-kind gift for my son. The way the map was packaged ensured it did not get damaged. The order was delivered in a very timely manner. The attention to detail and service of the owner of Unique Maps Co., I knew I was working with someone proud of their business and aiming to share their love of maps with others.

I ordered a framed map from this company and unfortunately despite the outer packaging being completely undamaged the corners of the frame were damaged with the paint flaking off, likely due to rubbing on the removable cardboard corner protectors.

I contacted the support team, and they came back promptly to say that a replacement would be sent out with additional corner protection. They then went dark until I prompted them several times through email at which point the replacement was finally shipped. It arrived 5 days after the initial problem was reported, and unsurprisingly the item was packaged identically and had the same issue as the first - damage to the corners. There was also debris on the map itself behind the glass.

I notified them again at which point they offered me store credit and to keep the two damaged items. I rejected this immediately, asked for a refund, then once again they went silent on me for almost one week.

Threatening them with section 75 as another reviewer here did kicked them into gear, but instead of listening to me and honouring my clear request of a refund they tried to offer me a "higher quality product" with "blue foam on the corners" for additional protection. If a £200 framed print doesn't justify a high quality frame and functioning corner protection as standard then something is clearly wrong here. Apparently the higher quality frame is normally £75 extra and that would eat their margins on a £200 item which I find hard to believe at the cost price of the materials.

After reiterating several times that I simply want a refund they finally sent their returns address, but they have once again gone silent when I asked them for a collection or prepaid label. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 the company is required to pay for the returns shipping for damaged items so I shouldn't be taking on that cost on myself.

Hopefully I hear from them tomorrow but given my experience so far I don't have a lot of hope.

Things I think that should be implemented at this company to improve:
1. Better corner protection by default. Cardboard over matt black paint is asking for trouble and damage in shipping. Use the blue foam you apparently already have in stock and wrap the item in plastic/bubble wrap. Cardboard only packaging is only eco-friendly if you don't have to ship replacement items out due to the packaging itself causing damage.
2. Improve customer support response times. Going days without a response simply isn't acceptable and I shouldn't have to chase a company to get a response after receiving a damaged item. I'm not expecting immediate responses here, but at minimum <24hrs.
3. Honor the customer's request and just provide a refund when asked. Don't default to offering credit or other incentives to avoid a refund process.
4. When a refund starts, just provide a label or collection by default and do this immediately. The company is going to have to pay the postage regardless so make it simple for your customer.

Was I going to purchase more from this company before this order? Probably! Now? Probably not.

Unique map company

We recently decided to renovate our living room and wanted to create a relaxing space with a hint of character. We then came across the Unique Map Company. After looking at their items, we decided their work was perfect for what we were looking for. We ordered the map, and the process was easy accompanied by excellent communication. The map with all its intricate details now takes pride and place on our living room wall. We definitely be ordering some more of their work!

I live in New Zealand and bought a map from Unique Maps Co. The product is great and they could not have been more responsive to my questions and requests. I will definitely be a future customer!

Would strongly recommend Unique Maps Co. They had a wide selection to choose from and were reasonably priced. All correspondence was timely and transparent. The map was quickly delivered and properly packed, so everything went without a hitch. Great gift for a friend's 80th birthday.

I had a positive experience with The Unique Map Co. The old map that I ordered was exactly as described and it came beautifully framed. The old map of Co. Meath was bought for nostalgic reasons and it is was very detailed and clear. It looks very well hanging on the wall. It was delivered promptly and in good condition.

Excellent website, ordering process, product (large old map of Lancashire for my wife), delivery and communication throughout. This seems like a great business and I'd wholeheartedly recommend them!

Excellent maps, beautifully finished to a very high standard. Just as impressive was the customer service — personable, knowledgeable and genuinely helpful throughout, including quickly chasing up a minor delivery query without any fuss. A really positive experience from start to finish. Highly recommended.

I’m really disappointed with my experience, particularly because I’ve ordered from this company before and had planned to purchase from them again.

The print I received was noticeably grayer, flatter, and lower in contrast than the product image online. The advertised image has warm olive-brown tones and clear definition throughout the sky, horizon, and foreground, while the print I received is so dark and muddy in areas that much of that detail is lost. The standard glazing also creates extremely strong reflections, which makes an already-dark image even more difficult to see.

My biggest frustration, however, has been the customer service. I first contacted the company on July 28 and have repeatedly had to follow up to get responses. Different team members have apologized for the delays and offered to look into solutions, but communication repeatedly stops again. I was open to working with them on several possible resolutions, including a corrected print, framed canvas, or a partial refund so I could replace the glazing locally.

Most recently, on August 20, I was told they would speak with a manager and get back to me the following day with the amount they could refund. As of August 26, I still have not received that follow-up.

I genuinely like the artwork and wanted to find a solution that allowed me to keep and enjoy it. I also understand that problems with an order can happen. What has made this experience so disappointing is how much effort I’ve had to put into simply getting consistent communication and a resolution. After nearly a month of emails and repeated promises to follow up, the issue is still unresolved.

The product is as their company name - they are providing a unique product at a fair price with excellent quality. I ordered the 24 x 36" relief map of the UK and it's just fantastic. The map is on thick paper so has that quality feel to it. We have it hung in our dining room, and I can't stop looking at it. It's a great high-quality product with that hard-to-find uniqueness.

It is refreshing to deal with a small business who work with you to produce a product that is what you want and of excellent quality. They communicate throughout the process and listen ! I shall use again, and again safe in the knowledge I shall not be let down.

This was our second purchase from this company and the ordering process was very easy. There was a small issue with the delivery going astray but as soon as this was reported a replacement was sent out straight away. The quality of the map is first class and I have no qualms in recommending this company to anyone interested in beautiful maps.

I am very satisfied. The map so brightly coloured is hanging on my wall close to an old map of Palestine Railways.

I absolutely love my Ireland map. Beautifully framed, great quality, lovely colours, so much detail and illustrations. It makes such a difference having a map on the lounge wall as I there's so much in it to see about the country and my heritage. Excellent customer service. The website is clear and easy to navigate, with lots to choose from. Prompt, friendly communication when I made some specific requests for my map. Great value. I would recommend this company.

Our custom map looks amazing! The verification process for making sure the customization looked good was easy to use, even on mobile. There was a small hiccup with the order, but they preemptively reached out to me as soon as they discovered the issue with a solution. They've also kept in contact since to make sure I'm happy with the map. My fiancé absolutely loved it, and we have it hanging up in our bedroom with many pins in place for the places we've been to (and hopefully many more new places to come!).

Incredible customer service, had a couple questions and reached out on a Sunday and all of them were answered within minutes. Amazing work!

Misleading delivery promises and very poor customer service…

I needed a map as a gift for my daughter’s wedding. Since I only had 12–13 days before I needed it, I contacted The Unique Maps through their chat to ask whether I could realistically expect delivery in time. The employee assured me that the order would definitely arrive before the wedding, so I went ahead and placed the order.
Then nothing happened for an entire week.
I started to worry that The Unique Maps had promised more than they could deliver, so I sent them an email. Several days passed without any reply. I also tried contacting them through WhatsApp messages and phone calls, but again received no response.
After numerous attempts, I finally got an answer. I was told that the map had been handed over to the courier and that it would arrive in time. More days passed without any update, so I contacted The Unique Maps again to ask for the status of the shipment. They apologized and said that the courier had still not delivered the package, but claimed that this was outside their control.
As a temporary solution, they offered to send me a high-resolution file so I could print the map myself and at least have something to give as a gift. However, the file they sent had their logo embedded all over the map, making it completely unsuitable as a wedding gift.
I then contacted the courier directly. They informed me that they could see a shipment had been created, but that they had not yet received the package from The Unique Maps. So it is hardly surprising that they had been unable to deliver it. In other words, The Unique Maps misled me when they claimed that the delay was caused by the courier.
About three weeks after placing my order — despite the website promising 3–4 days delivery — I finally received the map. The problem was that the wedding had already taken place, and my daughter had already returned to the United States. The map is still lying unopened in its shipping package because I have no use for it anymore. Therefore, I cannot comment on whether the quality of the product is good or bad.
I later contacted customer service and requested a refund. The Unique Maps refused. Instead, they offered me the same amount as store credit, but that is of no value to me. I certainly do not want to buy another map from them.
I wish they had simply been honest from the beginning and told me that they could not guarantee delivery before the wedding.
