check in and lack of bag tag stickers

Lately people seem to be urged to do self check in. the machines either really do not give out the bag tag sticker, or nobody is informing passangers about the importance of having at least a photo of their bag tag to have their bags original number with them. the ryanair app does not contain the bag number most of the time either despite showing that the bags have been paid for and checked in. in cases where the paps bags dont arrive, they have no way to file a delayed bag claim. this is considered the paps fault even though ryanair is seemingly doing everything in your power to thwart them every step of the way. please fix this. either make sure your check in staff is doing their best to help passangers during self check in, that the machines are actually giving out the stickers, or make your app show the bag ID numbers 100% of the time. it is very frustrating for all parties involved and frankly a terrible look for the company. thanks

Horrible experience

Horrible experience. Charged me 46€ at the gate for a small personal item. At that point I already bought 20kg and 10 kg suitcases. Cruel people, almost didn’t let me in on my flight.

Very Disappointing Experience, Avoid if Possible

Very disappointing experience with Ryanair.
My family was traveling from Morocco to Italy today. We had already paid for a 20 kg checked bag, but the staff kept changing their requirements. First, they told us to remove clothes from the suitcase, so we did. Then, after we complied, they said the suitcase itself was too large and claimed there was a "new law" requiring a smaller suitcase.
In the end, they forced my family to pay an extra €160. The whole situation was confusing, poorly explained, and handled without any empathy or professionalism.
What made the experience even worse was the way the staff treated my family. They were rude and intimidating, and they scared my little sister, who was very upset by the way they spoke to us.
If there really is a new baggage policy, passengers should be informed clearly before arriving at the airport, not surprised at the check-in desk after they've already paid for their luggage.
I hope Ryanair improves its customer service and trains its staff to treat passengers with respect.

I’ve just had my holiday cancelled with…

I’ve just had my holiday cancelled with Jet2 and after booking it 9 months ago! Looked at flights with Ryanair as only Ryanair and Jet2 fly from Stansted to Rome. The initial flight costs plus add ons just to take a suitcase are extortionate it’s just plus plus plus! Take a tip Ryanair advertising initial prices and then ending up with an extortionate amount to fly in Europe is doing you no favours. It feels like is Brits are getting the worst deals and paying for appalling service and unreliability. We are marooned in the UK!! These companies really need to get their acts together!!

Disgusting Ryanair

I am heavily disappointed by Ryanair’s negligence following our experience on the delayed flight FR588 on the 15th July 2026 from London Stansted to Pisa.

The above flight was scheduled to depart at 20.40 but was delayed firstly by 1 hour and then subsequently by another 3 hours.
I understand that the reason for the delay was related to severe weather conditions and I understand that this events are not controlled by the airline.
What should be controlled by the airline though, is the right to care for their customers, especially those who belongs to a vulnerable category.

I was travelling by myself with my two kids, my daughter who is 3 years old and my son, who is 6 months old. When I first came to know about the 3 hours delay, I approached a member or Ryanair’s staff at the information desk to ask for help about the situation. Being with two little kids I asked if there were other options for us rather than wait at the airport for that much time. The lady I was talking to bluntly said that unfortunately all we could do was wait or “miss” our flight for it to be booked, on my expense, the following day.
I also explained to her that due to the high delay I had not enough milk for my baby and that due to the late flight the shops were almost all closed for the day.
The lady only managed to say to me that unplanned events happen and that they could not do anything about it.

I find what happened highly unacceptable and quite degrading, as due to the circumstances there was nothing that I could have done myself and required help from the staff.

Never again

Never again. Decided in future to go to Ireland by ferry. Blue handling at Stansted are a disaster. Changed the gate and funnelled 200 people down one escalator with no room at the bottom for 200 people. It was pure incompetence. Both the outward and home flights were an hour late. And who the hell wants a lottery ticket or the permanent to and fro of a cart stopping everyone from going to the toilet. As long as mugs keep paying, these poor quality services will survive …. well not on my money. If I was Irish I’d be embarrassed.

Overall experience

If possible, I would leave a 0 star review.
Expensive and execrable customer service.
No cancellation policy in place, and no possibility to actually get in touch with a person for customer service support.
Any other option is preferable to this airline company.

I have flown with Ryanair many times…

I have flown with Ryanair many times and, apart from frequent delays, I never had serious issues until this last flight.
My booking was saved with two names instead of my correct first name and surname. I have all my passport details correctly saved in my profile, I always book in the same way, and I checked that my information was correct beforehand. This was not a mistake on my side, but I was still asked to pay a €160 fee to fix it.
Customer service was completely unhelpful and simply said there was nothing they could do. This was extremely frustrating and unfair, especially for a frequent customer.
Ryanair is acceptable when everything goes smoothly, but if you face a problem, the lack of support is very disappointing. I cannot recommend it for this reason.

Baggage fees add up fast

The ticket itself was cheap but by the time you add a cabin bag, seat selection and priority boarding it costs more than a normal airline. Staff at the gate were also pretty short with an elderly passenger in front of me about bag size, which didn't leave a great impression.

Would give zero stars if I could

Would give zero stars if I could. Staff blunt and disinterested. Extremely hard landings both on outward and return journeys despite perfect weather conditions. Been travelling for over 30 years and never had back pain after being dropped out of the sky on landing. Instead of investing in new planes Ryanair have invested in new tech to cut down on staff so now you are forced to use their dysfunctional app to check in and manage the entire DIY bag drop off and boarding at the airport. Outrageous extra fee penalty if you do not use their app. Instead of relaxing on your holiday you have to worry about constantly keeping your phone charged and accessible, connecting to wifi/mobile internet and tearing your hair out when the app freezes or needs updating every couple of days. Being made to stand in line (premium boarding or not) at the boarding gate prior to the plane even arriving and boarding whilst the garbage is still being taken out in order to save Ryanair turnaround costs. Not to mention an assortment of hidden costs which end up making your ticket more expensive than any other airline...Never again if I can help it.

Extreme, Uncalled-for Rudeness and Threatening Behaviour.

On the 20th of July 2026 at 16:30 in Madrid Airport, I approached Ryanair employee ID: 267059 at the Ground Handling Desk (Ryanair Azul help desk) to request assistance with a boarding pass issue. This employee treated me with utter disrespect and contempt from the outset. When I politely requested she cease this behaviour, she threatened to deny me boarding. `Due to this intimidation, I was forced to leave without receiving the required assistance. I was only able to board my flight with the assistance of other, more helpful staff members.

In over thirty years of regular international travel, I have never experienced such appalling treatment from any airline staff member.
