Terribly understaffed check in staff as…
Terribly understaffed check in staff as a result delayed the flight missed my eurowings connection, there was no flight that night to move me to, so had to go to some hotel eventually their staff was rude and unhelpful, broke my luggage too
Serious failure of pre-booked disability assistance
Eurowings were given medical information in advance explaining my husband's disability and support requirements. They confirmed DPNA/WCHS assistance in writing, including trained support through the airport.
At Düsseldorf, that assistance was not provided and staff appeared unaware of the arrangements. The situation escalated into a severe autistic meltdown and serious safety incident, causing us to miss our flight.
Eurowings then sent us to hospital for a fit-to-fly certificate the hospital could not provide, refused to carry us afterwards, and we ultimately had to stay overnight and travel back to the UK by train. The additional costs exceeded £850, excluding the unused flights.
The most concerning part is that the risks had been clearly identified in advance and the appropriate assistance had supposedly been arranged.
The staff just told us "not to panic" next time!
This raises serious questions about Eurowings' handling of vulnerable and disabled passengers and its obligations under EU Regulation.
I have submitted a formal complaint and requested a refund.
They didn't want to check-in my mother
They didn't want to check-in my mother. She was flying alone with ukraine passport. They didn't want to print her ticket without giving any reason. Just because. It's difficult to believe, but it is what it is. Probably over-booked and tried solve it dishonestly. It seems to be easy to cheat an old lady which doesn't speak good German.

Extremely Disappointing Experience with Eurowings
I have traveled with many airlines over the years, and this was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve had.
We were unable to check in online because the Eurowings website repeatedly returned an error. We tried multiple times and got the same result. We even showed the error to the Eurowings staff at the airport. Despite this, we were charged €60 for checking in at the airport.
Things got even worse from there. At check-in, we were told that we could take our carry-on bags to the gate. When we got to the gate, we were then told that our fare did not include carry-on bags and that we had to pay another €60 PER BAG to check two bags—a total of €120 in additional baggage charges. Had we been given accurate information at check-in, these charges could have been avoided or at least been significantly lower.
We repeatedly asked to speak with a manager, but no manager was available or willing to assist.
We contacted Eurowings customer service afterward, hoping they would at least acknowledge what happened and make things right. Instead, their response essentially blamed us because we couldn’t provide a screenshot proving that we had attempted to check in online. Apparently, showing the error to their own employees at the airport isn’t enough.
So, because of a website that didn’t work and incorrect information from their staff, we were out an additional €180—and Eurowings refuses to take any responsibility for it.
The most disappointing part isn’t even the money. It’s the complete lack of accountability and customer service. Problems happen with websites and employees make mistakes. What matters is how a company handles those mistakes. Eurowings chose to do nothing.
Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend thinking twice before booking with Eurowings. Poor website, inconsistent information from staff, no manager available to help, and customer service that refuses to take responsibility afterward.
For us, this was our first and last experience with Eurowings.

My 12 year old son traveled alone with Eurowings recently. They were amazingly caring and sweet to him.
Im so very grateful
Untrustworthy company - serious investigation needed
Untrustworthy company - has led to loss of money, attempted credit card and phone scams.
--
I booked a flight and paid extra to have the option to change the flight date. The Eurowings site would not let me change the date when I needed to.
I tried multiple times and date options. The issue wasn’t with flight availability, rather an issue with their site.
I emailed their customer service and submitted forms 3 times - with screenshots of what I was experiencing on their site. I received an automated response that someone would get back to me as soon as possible. However, a month later (and after the flight date already passed, which I wasn't able to use), no one has responded.
I then posted about the issue on the Eurowings Customer Support and Complaints Facebook groups (without providing personal details in the post). However, this only prompted calls from credit card scammers from India and Africa, claiming to be calling from Eurowings, attempting to get my credit card details.
Furthermore, I've since experienced multiple attempts from different countries in Africa to access my Apple account.
A serious investigation needs to be launched into Eurowings for selling non-existent flight-change options, claiming to provide customer support while not responding at all to ticketed customer inquiries, and being used in credit card scams and attempts to hack customers' phone accounts.
Utter chaos and complete absence of customer care
Utter chaos and complete absence of customer care
My experience with Eurowings has been extraordinarily poor - repeatedly.
After my flight was cancelled, Eurowings left me effectively stranded and automatically rebooked me onto an alternative flight that I could not take. I contacted them immediately to explain this and to ask for a workable alternative.
Before making any alternative arrangements myself, I contacted Eurowings three separate times through their own system, clearly setting out the problem. Each submission generated a ticket, so I know the messages were received.
I heard nothing.
After the rebooked flight had departed, their system would no longer even allow me to select another alternative flight. With no response from Eurowings and no functioning rebooking option, I eventually had no choice but to book a new flight myself.
I subsequently submitted my claim, together with the relevant information and costs.
It is now nearly two weeks later and, despite repeated attempts to contact them, I have received no meaningful response whatsoever — neither regarding my requests for assistance at the time nor regarding my claim.
At this point, Eurowings is not simply providing poor customer service; it is effectively ignoring my legal rights as a passenger, including my right to appropriate rerouting or reimbursement following a cancelled flight.
Unfortunately, there seems to be a recurring theme with Eurowings: when something goes wrong, the customer is simply left to deal with the consequences and then has to chase repeatedly for reimbursement and compensation. Whether intentional or not, a system in which customers receive no response inevitably creates the impression that if they are ignored for long enough, some may simply give up pursuing what they are entitled to. Rest assured: I will not give up.
And please, Eurowings, do not respond to this review with a friendly-sounding “help line” or email address for me to contact. After multiple unanswered submissions through your own official channels, that kind of public response would feel performative rather than helpful. It may create the impression that you are responsive, while in my experience those channels have simply led back into the same black hole as all my previous communications.
What makes this especially frustrating is that British Airways used to operate the route I need, but unfortunately cancelled it. BA offered, in my experience, far better comfort and service — including genuinely comfortable seats — at around half the price. By comparison, Eurowings feels like paying twice as much to sit on what are essentially wooden seats covered in fabric.
For another comparison, I recently had a delayed flight with TAP Air Portugal. Their handling could hardly have been more different: I received a response within an hour, my claim was dealt with immediately and the money was in my account within five days, without endless correspondence or chasing. That is what competent customer service looks like when disruption occurs.
Flights can be cancelled. Delays happen. What distinguishes an airline is how it treats its passengers when things go wrong.
On that measure, my experience with Eurowings has been dismal.
If I have a reasonable alternative in future, I will stay well away from Eurowings.
Rude staff
Very disappointing experience with Eurowings
I had a very disappointing experience with Eurowings today. The staff were extremely rude and unprofessional.
There was a long queue to get the boarding pass, and we waited around 50 minutes. When another passenger complained about the long waiting time, one of the Eurowings staff members responded in a very rude and threatening manner, saying that if the passenger continued complaining, they would not give him a boarding pass.
I also approached another Eurowings employee to ask a simple question, but unfortunately, the attitude was again extremely rude and unhelpful.
Checkin open far too late
Checkin open far too late. Poor communication. Couldn’t check my family in online. App is also poor.
Worse aircompany ever
Worse aircompany ever! I visited 60+ countries, I took a hundreds flights and I have never, I repeat NEVER, faced such a horrible, rude and actually disgusting Customer service.
Shame on you!
Worst airline I have ever flown with
Worst airline I have ever flown with. Cancelled my flight and made me wait in a queue for 6 hours to re-book. Didn't even send me back to my destination. Didn't give me the correct expense tickets so had to pay for everything myself. When I requested expenses, I had to escalate to get any response, and even then they refused to pay for the train ticket I had to buy to get back to my initial destination. Honestly disgusted
Nothing to worry about and we arrived early!
Having read the reviews on here, I was worried but I really didnt need to be!
We flew from Heathrow to Hamburg and back with Eurowings. Checking in online went without a problem. All the extras are actually very clear when booking and available on the app or website at all times, so I'm not sure what other reviewers are missing when they book??
It was my sons first flight, the stewardess was lovely going out and even introduced my son to the pilots who showed him the flight deck and they gave him some souvenirs to take home. The flight was on time and we arrived 15 mins ahead of schedule on both flights.
Both planes were spotless and the cabin crew were friendly as well.
For a budget airline, I was really impressed. We chose our airline based of the flight times and Eurowings offered the best ones for us.
Charged €60 after being told my bag…
Charged €60 after being told my bag could not be checked in, then it was checked in anyway
I had a very frustrating experience with Eurowings on my flight EW7404 from Hamburg to Paris CDG on 24 July.
I had booked a Basic fare and had separately purchased a 12 kg checked baggage allowance. I misunderstood the baggage type and thought the 12 kg allowance was for cabin baggage, so I brought the suitcase with me to the gate instead of dropping it off beforehand.
I completely accept that this misunderstanding was my mistake.
However, what happened at the gate is what I find unacceptable.
I explained the entire situation to the employee at the boarding gate. I told him that I had already paid for a 12 kg checked baggage allowance and asked whether the suitcase could simply be checked into the hold at that point.
He told me that this was not possible.
I asked whether there was anything that could be done, but the answer was simply no. There did not appear to be any attempt to check with a colleague, supervisor, or the aircraft crew. I was told that because I had brought the suitcase to the gate, I now had to pay an additional €60.
So I paid the €60.
Then I boarded the aircraft.
Once I was on board, a flight attendant saw the suitcase and informed me that it could not remain in the cabin because of its size or weight and would need to be checked into the hold.
She then took the suitcase and arranged for it to be placed in the hold.
So, within only a few minutes, the exact thing I had asked the gate employee to do, and had been told was impossible, was done by the cabin crew.
This is what made the whole experience so frustrating.
I understand that I made an initial mistake by misunderstanding the 12 kg baggage allowance. But I had already paid to transport that suitcase as checked baggage. When I realized the problem at the gate, I immediately asked whether it could simply be checked in.
Instead, I was told that this was impossible and was required to pay another €60.
Then the suitcase was checked into the hold anyway.
I do not expect airport staff to ignore baggage rules. What I do expect is reasonable assistance when a passenger explains a genuine mistake, especially when the solution they are asking for is apparently possible a few minutes later.
The €60 charge itself was frustrating, but the way the situation was handled at the gate was even more disappointing.
Avoid! They treat unnacompanied minors as adults.
They accept unnacompnied minors but treat them as adults! They ovesold the flight and my son was offered to go to the gate and wait of someone old voluntarily change their flight for later one. When we asked them what if no one would accept this they said then you would need to do everything online. How they allow this? All minors must have seats despite anything! Moreover I booked the ticket through Lufthansa, if I knew it is Eurowings I would never do this! AVOID.
Avoid at all cost
Absolutely atrocious service if I could give a 0 I would. Recently flew from Vienna to Dusseldorf and then Dusseldorf to Manchester with them, never again. Cabin crew were surly and rude, poorest service that I have ever received from flight crew. When at Dusseldorf Airport and flight side, only due to checking myself, no notification on a message or email, that I had to return to arrivals and now check in again as my boarding pass couldnt be loaded on the app. You have use their app as everything is done online. Went to the check in desks where the staff were again less than helpful. Make it to the gate just in time, only then to be told that they have overbooked the flight and want volunteers to take a later flight to Birmingham or travel to Manchester the next day! After this debacle, they told us the flight was delayed and could not tell us how long. Then they changed the gate, with no further updates, overall approximate 2hr delay. Absolute abysmal service, avoid this company like the plague.
Flight to Germany
I booked a flight from Glasgow to Hannover. Great price for a direct flight .Luggage included in the price. I usually need to take two flights to get to my destination. Flight was on time .
One star is too generous
One star is too generous.
Absolutely terrible. Booked the flights and paid, they took the money from my account and the booking showed on my account and on my app, however I received no booking confirmation via email and when i rang up i was told it had never been created even though I had a booking code and could see the information.
The customer service lady could not understand my frustration.
I have no trust in them now & would never book with this airline in the future.
Glad I found this all out before I flew
If I could give -1, I would
If I could give 0, I would. Wife has paid 600 euros for a flight with our daughter only to be told at the gate she does not have a guaranteed seat while traveling.
They've been trying to imitate RyanAir for years now in the worst possible way and I'm not sure how they can get away with this. Absolutely avoid, disgusting brand to use.
One way ticket to hell.
I’d rather swim to my holiday then go on this airline again. They lost our luggage and made no effort telling us whilst half our flight stood at the carousel for a good hour. They then told us to go to lost and found, not once did I hear an apology or any sympathy, this is ridiculous and I won’t be flying with this airline again
