Auto-renewed with no reminder, then fought a same-day cancellation for a week
Fotor charged me $46.99 for an annual renewal on Oct 20 with no reminder email beforehand. I asked to cancel and for a refund 26 minutes after the charge. I had not used the renewed term.
Support first offered 60%. Next they offered $39.99 minus a 6% "processing fee." Then they called $37.59 their "maximum concession." Their reasons kept changing: first that I requested on the 21st (that was their GMT+8 time zone), then that I was responsible because I didn't report it at the time of the charge, then that my request came after the charge. When I sent receipts showing a 26-minute gap, they confirmed the timeline and still refused.
I disputed the charge with my credit card company, which refunded the full amount within a day.
If you use Fotor, turn off auto-renewal right after you subscribe and pay with a card that has strong dispute protection.

I spent a fortune on credits and everything can’t get made, I can’t even have a video of someone walking down the street, it’s basically a scam

Be aware that after using a free software trial I apparently was billed for a full year. When I found the following years automatically cycled bill on my credit card, they refused a full refund . I would find a more reputable company, there are others to choose from

Claims to be a free online photo editor, it's not

Tried the free trial, canceled because it is low quality, removed then from my google play and subscriptions, yet still got charged both last year and now this year. They tried telling me I needed to work with google play over the charge, but it is not through google play. Total scam company.

A customer service representative eventually got back to me and processed a refund. However, a 6% processing fee was deducted, so I received $67.79 back instead of the full $69.99.
While I appreciate that the issue was ultimately resolved, it should never have taken a negative Trustpilot review and multiple emails, including screenshots documenting my actual usage of the service, to get a refund.
My concern is not just about the money. When a customer hasn't used a service in a long time, and an automatic renewal is approaching, I believe the company should send a courtesy reminder. Customers deserve the opportunity to decide whether they want to continue paying for a service they are no longer using.
Transparency and proactive communication go a long way toward building customer trust. A simple renewal reminder could have prevented this entire situation. And when a customer does reach out with a reasonable concern, resolving it should not require this much time, effort, and frustration.
I'm grateful that the refund was eventually issued, but the experience itself was disappointing and could have been handled much better from the beginning.

I signed up to try this company to try it and used it a few times. Was not that impressed. Then noticed I was charged $69.99. I IMMEDIATELY cancelled and contact the company for a refund. They denied it and then sent me a broken link to read their refund policies. I will never use this company again and will warn others of this issue. They can clearly see I have not used any of there services since DECEMBER 2025!!! I just looked December 2025 was the last time I tried to use their product to edit a photo.

Revolting service and customer care support. I have been stuck with this subscription and now it’s charged me twice although I had reached out to their team last year and this year. I was desperate to find an ai that could help me merge my deceased son’s photos with his brothers. This awful fotor hasn’t worked and since I’ve been asking for refunds on my so called subscription yet nothing has been done and they keep saying you can’t once you’ve paid. Shame on you thieves.

I purchased Fotor Pro on 08/05/2026. Then a few weeks ago, my subscription disappeared from their web site. My accrued points are gone as are my saved images. I cannot access my data. They "promise" to get back to me. Not yet.

Fotor you haven't done an update for awhile and my account options changed out of no where. I actually really like your site, but I can't tell if you guys are having money issues or just don't want me to use your site. I feel my posts fit into your guidelines and are enjoyable and not a liability to your site, but today I saw my rewards page has removed the option to earn points from interacting with a post and for sharing a post and for clicking the link to get to clipfly. Also I don't get any points for posting an image or video and this has gone on for months. Do you not want me to use your site? How can we generate without any points. I'm not even excessively generating because it's impossible to when you use credits. So what is the issue? And I don't know if your site is affiliated with google or trump but no I am not affiliated with either. I just want to resolve the issue because I do think your site is normally great, just can't tell if this is a change you implemented or something messed up.
Okay Fotor, thank you for the response. I will get in touch with info about my fotor account.

My Fotor Pro+ subscription automatically renewed for $69.99 on September 28, 2026. I tried the service out to create headshots for my new business, and I was not at all happy with the results. I did not use any of the headshots they produced. I did not intend to upgrade my subscription at all, much less renew it, and I still had unused credits when it renewed.
I contacted support to request a refund and explained the lack of use, which they acknowledged. They declined my request, citing their automatic-renewal terms and activation of another year of membership.
I understand that subscriptions can renew automatically, but I’m disappointed that Fotor would not make an exception in these circumstances. This experience has left me unwilling to subscribe again and unwilling to recommend their service to anyone.
I do not recommend subscribing, but if you do, check your renewal settings carefully. Not using the service or having unused credits does not prevent another annual charge.

I am very satisfied with the service I received following my email regarding an annual subscription that had been charged to my account without my request or authorisation.
My email was answered within a few hours, and the following day, the full amount I had been charged was refunded to my bank account.
Prompt response in resolving the issue so quickly.

I tried Fotor but quickly realized it wasn’t for me. I especially didn’t like how much it changed people in photos. If I’m editing a family photo, I don’t want the end result looking like a stranger is standing with my family.
When I went to cancel, I remember being prompted with an offer to stay, and apparently my cancellation either didn’t go through or wasn’t completed. I never used the service again and honestly never thought about it after that.
Fast forward to a full-year renewal charge. I NEVER received an email or reminder beforehand saying my membership would renew in X number of days. In my experience, reputable subscription companies send a renewal notice before an annual charge, especially when a customer hasn’t been using the service. Instead, I received the charge and then an email saying it had renewed for another year.
I contacted Fotor immediately after seeing the charge. A day later, I received a response stating: “You didn't cancel your subscription renewal in time, resulting in subsequent payments.” They went on to say that because their virtual service is delivered immediately after payment, the transaction had already been fulfilled and they do not provide refunds for fees already paid.
So apparently, even though I contacted them immediately, hadn’t been using the service, and received no advance renewal reminder, I’m stuck paying for another entire year.
If you decide to try Fotor, be VERY careful with the subscription and cancellation process. Take screenshots of your cancellation, save the confirmation, and keep track of your renewal date yourself because based on my experience, you should not count on receiving an advance renewal reminder or getting your money back afterward.

Fotor is one of my favorite tools for working with photos and artificial intelligence. I use it for photo editing as well as creating AI-powered photo animations. I really appreciate the wide range of available features, its ease of use, and the fact that the platform is constantly evolving and regularly introducing new possibilities.
Of course, as with any tool that uses artificial intelligence, not every generated result is always perfect. However, this does not change the fact that my overall experience with Fotor has been very positive, and the platform gives me many opportunities for creative work with photos.
I would especially like to praise Fotor's customer support and Christine, who handled my recent case regarding problems with AI video generation from beginning to end. Throughout the entire process, she was extremely helpful, patient, and polite. She carefully reviewed the information I provided, responded to my questions and explanations, and did her best to help resolve the issue. I greatly appreciate the way she communicated with me — I felt that my case was being taken seriously.
In the end, Fotor granted me 400 credits as compensation for the unsuccessful video generations. This was a very positive resolution to the whole matter and further showed me that the company is willing to respond appropriately when a user encounters a genuine problem. I would therefore like to give special thanks to Christine for her patience, kindness, professional approach, and assistance.
Fotor is a useful and versatile tool that I regularly return to. I enjoy watching it continue to develop, and I hope that future improvements will make its AI tools even better. Based on my experience so far, I can confidently give Fotor a very positive review. 🙂🙏

I signed up for Fotor a year ago and never used it. When I got a notice that it had renewed, I had to write to them and ask what they did. They gave me a very polite response, refunded my account, and followed up to be sure I was happy.

I have been using the basic Fotor Pro for a couple of years now on my home photos. Being quite happy with this I was then given a chance to use the Fotor Pro +. I couldn't get over what a difference this extra $8.74 would do to the coloring of my favorite photos. Not being used to the credits system I sent an email to Fotor, not expecting to get a reply, and if I did, I wouldn't be able to understand it. How wrong I was there. A very helpful Christine answered all of my questions in a very understandable way, which gives me the confidence to reach out for help at any time, if need to be. 100 % happy with their product.

I used to love them. But 1) they can't do black faces, in photo editing they change them completely. But the real problem is when I renewed. (Because their photo filters were easy , and I was lazy.) Everything is behind a paywall. I renewed for $51 and they won't let me do anything without paying more - use prism or becasso for much better images and no charge.

I was charged for the Pro+account and didn't make that selection. They refused to correct the issue. The prompts are misinterpreted much of the time as well. I was editing a dog pic and kept getting a boat in the results. I would then have to use 25 credits multiple times to correct the image/issue.

Beware! Fotor refused to refund an annual payment. My account was charged with no prior notice. When I requested a refund, they refused due to their "policy".
They are claiming I received a notice 2 days before I was charged, I did not receive any notification.
