I've received my final plush which was a remake today.
I have to say across the 12 or so plushies I've ordered from this company, I am very, very impressed.
When they messed up; they not only offered to refund the embroidery fee but they also offered to give me a free remake instead; most other companies would've just refunded the embroidery fee and left it at that.
Occasionally, yes; they have missed the mark, with one of my friend's Broccoli plush ordered via Budsies (I bought for him via Gift Card) the quality was quite poor and disappointing; especially considering it was based on the same character I previously ordered. The plushies floret couldn't support the weight and was extremely oversized.
Overall, this company has always tried to do their absolute best to work with me, and it's unfortunate the journey ends here after 2+ years, but I'll be sure to keep them in mind for friends and I'm happy it's ended on a good note!

We had Trustpilot create a custom plush on one of my daughter's cartoon characters they designed. They were communicative through the process and created a plush that my daughter really loves ! She takes it all the time when we travel because she likes it so much! There were a few elements of her design that would have been difficult to implement. They communicated this during the production process, and came up with workable alternatives that still looked nice. Would recommend!

I appreciate that Budsies has communicated with me throughout this process. However, I believe it’s important to provide additional context for anyone reading this review.
My disappointment is not based on one small design preference. It is based on the overall quality of the finished product compared to the artwork I submitted and the examples displayed on the Budsies website.
I invested months in this project, provided extensive design documentation, responded to every request from your team, and paid for premium upgrades to help achieve the best possible result. Despite that effort, the finished doll did not resemble my original character in the way I reasonably expected.
I also want future customers to understand that the “Sneak Peek” referenced in your response is an additional paid service, not a standard part of the custom doll process. In my opinion, customers who are already investing hundreds of dollars in a custom product should not have to purchase an additional review stage simply to help ensure the final product accurately reflects the artwork they submitted.
While I appreciate the offer to make further changes after delivery, I no longer have confidence that additional revisions would resolve the broader concerns I have regarding the overall design, craftsmanship, and quality. At this point, my trust in the process has been lost.
As the creator of original children’s book characters and intellectual property, I commissioned this doll to professionally represent my brand. Unfortunately, the product I received is not something I feel comfortable using to represent that brand.
I am sharing my experience so that other customers, authors, illustrators, and creators can make an informed decision before investing significant time and money into a custom product.
I genuinely hope Budsies reviews its quality control processes, consistency in execution, and customer experience so that future creators receive products that more closely reflect both the artwork they submit and the quality showcased in Budsies’ marketing materials.

I am having an ongoing and very disappointing experience with Budsies.
I placed an order for a custom plush and paid nearly $197 through PayPal.
After accepting my order and taking my payment immediately, I was later told that they could not make my plush because of the “adult subject matter.” The item was simply a plushie based on a removed appendix, (it was supposed to be a cute cartoon looking plushie), and if that violated their policies, it should have been declined before charging my account.
What has been most upsetting is the complete lack of communication afterward.
I have now emailed them at least three times and called twice over the last 8 days asking about my refund, and I have received NO response. Meanwhile, they have kept my money.
I just had to open a PayPal claim to try to recover my funds, which never should have been necessary.
I respect that companies have the right to refuse projects that don’t fit their guidelines. What I don’t understand is charging a customer, canceling their order later, and then ignoring repeated requests for a refund.
I really can’t recommend this company based on my experience. I really hope to get my $196.19 refund soon.

I paid nearly $5,000 to Stuffed Animal Pros / Budsies for a 200-unit custom plush mascot production run.
I paid an extra ~$400 specifically for a physical prototype so I could review and approve a sample before authorizing full production. After several design revisions, I approved the final prototype and was told it would move into production.
I also paid ~$700 for expedited 5–7 day air shipping, which ultimately took over 5 months to arrive once the order was ready to ship.
When the bulk order finally arrived, it had multiple clear differences from the approved sample: missing design elements, changes to the collar construction, and noticeably “cheaper” finishing quality.
It’s hard not to wonder — if the final product wasn’t going to reflect the approved sample anyway, what exactly was the $400 prototype fee for?
The company initially acknowledged the issues and agreed a partial refund was appropriate, but then completely stopped responding. Multiple follow-ups over the next month+ went unanswered.
Only after I filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Florida Attorney General’s consumer protection office did the company then immediately respond and ultimately issue a partial refund.
Manufacturing errors can happen. What was most frustrating was paying extra for a prototype precisely to avoid surprises, receiving a production run that didn’t match the approved sample, and then having to escalate through formal channels to obtain a resolution.
To end up here after dedicating over 14 months to this project is beyond disappointing, and an expensive lesson learned.
Proceed with extreme caution if you’re considering a custom order with them.
Edit: The company responded, and I wanted to clarify a couple of points for anyone reading both sides. While I agree that the company did work hard to correct the errors, this effort did not begin until after I filed formal complaints with multiple consumer protection agencies. Prior to that, several messages over the course of over a month were ignored. A full timeline of events and screenshots of all correspondence supporting this were provided to the Better Business Bureau.
Also, 25% of the purchase price would have been $1203.75 like I requested, but I’ll gladly take the remaining $400 if that was their intent. The $100 shipping credit was issued 6 months ago in response to my complaint about the $700 shipping cost that was not disclosed until after all production costs were paid in full and it was too late to cancel the order.

As a fellow artists, I give so much grace to other artists and creatives. I truly love supporting the art world, which is why it is such a sad day to share this awful experience. I ordered a custom Budsies plush in March as a gift and received it 2.5 months later. The total cost was over $150 with shipping and add-ons.
My disappointment has nothing to do with artistic interpretation. My issue is the quality of the workmanship.
The plush arrived with crooked facial details Even though the drawing had symmetrical details, uneven stitching, loose and untrimmed threads, puckered seams, rough felt application, and poor finishing throughout. The unfinished felt collar and several other details looked rushed and unfinished and threads and felt are just hanging. They even sewed a black thread into a yellow piece by accident and just left it there. The arms and legs are hanging by loose threads. It's so upsetting.
I also paid extra for a birth certificate, which arrived bent because it was shipped in a thin envelope without adequate protection.
The actual doll was shipped in a plastic envelope --not even a box to protect it and the certificate. So shocking.
What I find particularly frustrating is that Budsies' own policy emphasizes the skill, training, craftsmanship, and care that go into creating these products. Unfortunately, the plush I received did not reflect those standards in the least.
And their quality control department saw all these issues and still sent it out.
When I contacted customer service, I was offered a repair through their "Plush Hospital." However, I do not believe this is a matter of interpretation or a minor repair. The quality concerns are present throughout the plush and, in my opinion, reflect broader workmanship issues that would require a complete remake.
The entire thing is a mess.
After waiting several months and spending more than $150, I expected a finished, gift-quality keepsake because that was what was promised. Instead, I received a product that appeared poorly finished and below the level of quality represented by the company.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Budsies.

I commissioned two custom character plushies for a children’s book, with the expectation that they have matching boots. When they arrived, one was absolutely perfect, which is the only reason I can’t justify rating this lower, as I genuinely considered giving two stars.
Unfortunately, the second plushie was noticeably poorer in quality. The most obvious issue was the boots. Both characters were supposed to have matching footwear, yet one arrived with what looked like a much cheaper substitute. It felt very apparent that the original material had either run out or become unavailable, and an alternative had simply been used instead under the assumption that it would be “good enough.” For me, it wasn’t.
When I raised the issue, I was offered either a £30 partial refund or a replacement plushie. I felt the refund was inadequate given the amount spent on the project, but a replacement seemed like a fair resolution, so I accepted.
Before sending the replacement, they kindly provided a preview image for approval. However, the replacement was shown wearing the exact same incorrect boots that I had already complained about. At that point, I explained again, including side-by-side comparisons clearly showing the difference between the two designs.
What was particularly frustrating was the communication that followed. I found the responses patronising and dismissive, as though they were pretending not to understand a very straightforward concern. Even with clear visual evidence, the issue seemed to be repeatedly ignored rather than addressed.
By the end of the exchange, I was so fed up that I seriously considered abandoning the replacement altogether.
My overall impression: if you’re ordering a single plush, you may well get something excellent. But if you’re ordering multiple items that are meant to match consistently, based on my experience, I wouldn’t personally take the risk.
Edit: Unfortunately, the below response has prompted me to change my review to a 2 star. At no point was the incorrect sneak preview approved, immediately it was responded to and challenged. I have the evidence of this. I do not appreciate a company painting a situation in a different light to a public forum to essentially save face.

I couldn’t believe how detailed and accurate the Budsies team were with what was a complicated piece of art my son drew. He makes characters, and I didn’t expect the outcome to be as detailed as it was. There was a little thing we wanted changed, and they were so nice and took our piece back to their “plushie hospital” and made it even better at no cost. Anyone who complains about the price doesn’t understand that they are tailoring this from a picture, and I don’t think it’s overpriced at all. I will definitely be using their services again, and they’re no nice!

I ordered custom Budsies of my son and myself, and I honestly have no words, they are absolutely amazing. The level of detail and how well they capture the personality from the photos is simply incredible. Seeing them in real life is even more special than I expected.
I also want to highlight the customer support, which was outstanding. One package arrived quickly, but two others had an issue during shipping. However, the support team was always responsive, helpful, and easy to reach. They investigated the situation, found a solution, and reshipped everything without any hassle. In the end, everything arrived perfectly.
I can truly recommend Budsies without hesitation. The only thing to keep in mind is that you need a bit of patience, since each item is custom-made and takes time, but it is absolutely worth the wait.
In fact, I was so happy with the result that I’ve already ordered two more, again of my son and myself!
Thank you for such a wonderful experience.

I'm proud to be both an artist and a writer in a passion project that I've been working on for almost two years. But to have Budsies work on not one, but two of my OC's from said passion project to make into plushies, I couldn't be any happier. I'm so proud of the Budsies team for their specialty commission plushies, and will eagerly look forward to working with them again in the future!

I had budsies offer me a redo since I didn't like the previous plush. They had also offered if I'd like the redo to be a premium plush since it would come out better, which i agreed on since it was at a discounted price. The remake of the original plush isnt as terrible but the reason I'm giving another one star is because the communication felt terrible and I felt like they had basically lied. Originally, I was told by a support worker I spoke to through email that they only offer embroidery with their premium commissions, which is what my remake was made as. However, when I got the first preview of the plush, I noticed the face wasn't embroidered, so I had asked the person making my plush if they could have the face embroidered instead of cut out and sewed. I was then told by that person that they DON'T do embroidery?? even though the support worker told me that they offered embroidery with the premium plushies. And also whenever I asked for some changes, the first change I asked for was to fix the bangs since the bangs were completely wrong again like the last plush, and I even sent another reference drawing for the bangs. along with that I asked for the face to at least be adjusted since they apparently dont do embroidery on the premium plushies. The person making the plush completely ignored my request on fixing the bangs but only listened to my suggestion on adjusting the face. I had also noticed they forgot the eyelashes, so I asked for them to add those as well. When they showed me the preview again to show me the eyelashes, the eyelashes were completely wrong from the original and i also noticed that the mole was no longer on the plushies face either for some reason, but i didnt even bother asking for more changes because it felt like it would either come out wrong again or they wouldnt listen, and ever since the first attempt, I had low hopes on the new one looking better anyway and i was just done with them, especially because they had lied about the embroidery thing. I didn't want to have to give another one star since the plush is just slightly better from only the torso and down, but since they lied and the communication wasnt as great, that is why im giving another one star.

Budsies always does such a great job with there work. We have ordered from budsies twice now and my son loves his budsies. Thank you so much we will be ordering again in the near future.

I literally sent them exactly what I wanted made and they somehow turned it into something completely different. As of right now I am definitely not happy, especially with the amount of money this is costing. If I would have known this i would have went elsewhere.

I ordered a custom plush from Budsies based on my child’s drawing, and the result was absolutely amazing. They captured every little detail perfectly and turned it into a soft, high-quality toy. It’s such a unique idea and made for a really meaningful gift.

Ordered 2 plushies for my sons on December 19, 2025, had a ship date of February 13th and it's March 3rd, still have yet to receive them, tried speaking with customer service to see about about a credit or something for the delay, was told nope so if u
don't mind waiting 3 months to get your order this is your place

I was asked to allow Budsies the chance to rectify their first attempts. It was passed onto a team who could apparently handle it better than the first team.
Somehow they made it look even worse. The scarecrow wasn’t perfect but at least his head stood up. The rabbit, however… how hard is it to make a rabbit?
The birthday was in January and the plushies were supposed to be a set from something that meant a lot to the recipient. Now I’m going to have to find another gift and make it up to the person for the gift being 6 weeks late!
Just cancel the order and issue a full refund - you’re clearly falsely advertising services you cannot provide. Appalling service.

The Specialty Commission we ordered did not go as planned, and the initial preview of the plush we got did not match the quality and look we expected for this price point. We contacted them several times regarding the issues, and the meaning behind the plush we were having them make. Thankfully, the team was responsive and able to fix the major issues with the initial design. Customer service came through for us in the end and turned a bad situation into a very good one.

Budsies is the best place ever for custom plushies, I've ordered from here multiple times and each budsie came perfectly and they are out of this world
