To ECC Netherlands,The truth about delivery services in Post nl., what problems you might encounter, and the German Hermes service

To ECC Netherlands,
I am filing an official complaint against PostNL regarding tracking fraud and professional negligence (Barcode: 3SKAAG6776105). I paid €39.55 for an international registered parcel to Germany. The courier falsely claimed "Refused by recipient", which is a complete lie. The recipient, Daria Onyshchenko, waited outside for 3 days.
I am a refugee from Ukraine. Due to the language barrier, I cannot use chatbots, which the local post office point tried to force me to do. This stressful situation has caused me critical panic, acute breathing difficulties, and has severely worsened my medical condition (I am prescribed Citalopram and Oxazepam daily for severe stress).
I am physically unable to leave my house or fight with automated chat systems. I demand an investigation, a full refund of my €39.55, and accountability for the severe stress caused by PostNL service.
Sincerely,
Nataliia Smirnova

PostNL fails at their core business.

In my PostNL app the delivery was scheduled between 18:26 and 19:10. We were all at home and within sight of our front door and package safe. We also have a Ring camera doorbell. At 18:45 I received the message in the app that the delivery was unsuccessful. No delivery was attempted. Now it says I have to go to a pickup point sometime tomorrow. I paid money for home delivery. This is not the first time this happened.

Very disappointing experience

Very disappointing experience. Several of my parcels were marked as delivered, but I never received them. I checked around my address and asked the people living here, but nobody has seen the packages. It is extremely frustrating to see parcels marked as delivered when they are not actually received. I am still trying to find out what happened and hope this issue will be resolved soon.

Wasted an hour of my life

I opened a chat at 18:00. Then the bot 70x time asked me to say "yes" to keep the damn chat open, just to then never get a reaction. At 19:00 everybody probably went home and left me hanging. Wasted a full hour of having to stay at the PC to keep the chat alive.

Whoever invented this system should be fired.

I contacted PostNL regarding my parcel…

I contacted PostNL regarding my parcel which is being returned to Taiwan due to an expired customs payment link — despite the fact that we successfully paid the customs fee for one parcel from the same sender that arrived same time without any issues.

The customer service agent (Erwin) was shockingly rude and unhelpful. Instead of providing clear answers, she repeatedly insisted on her own explanation in an annoyed and dismissive manner, as if it was a burden to assist a customer. When I asked for her full credentials so I could reference her in a formal complaint, she simply closed the conversation without any further response.

This is completely unacceptable. Closing a conversation on a customer who is asking a legitimate question is deeply unprofessional and shows a total lack of accountability.

I sincerely hope PostNL takes this review seriously and trains their staff to treat customers with basic respect and professionalism.

A black hole where parcels go to die

A black hole where parcels go to die. I'm still waiting to have news about a parcel lost in their Acceptance Center sincce early april. 3 complaints and still nothings to show for it and with no answer from PostNL, no chance for a refund from the sender. The chatbot is useless and the customer service not far behind. Avoid at all cost.

Great customer service!!!

On top of their delivery person's lack of willing to do their job, customer service is also doing great!!!~
They can't even check whether a parcel is delivered or not! They say it is delivered. Then you go to pick it up from a pick-up point. What you find out is that your parcel is not delivered yet!!!
I think it is best they just shut down parcel delivery section.

Great service!

I was notified about my delivery and had the option to choose a convienient date. I received a message regarding the time frame of the delivery the day before the delivery. On the date of delivery I received a phone call when they were 10 minutes away. I appreciated this so I could look out for them as it’s a complicated location to get to. On arrival they were polite, came into my property wiping feet and placed my large order in the living room. Great service.

Avoid postnl if you do normal business

Avoid postnl if you do normal business. Articles send on 15/12. Now 29/12 , and article went back to depot 3 times ,making different false claims each time. Drivers don't leave paper message in mailbox as proof of visit. So they can claim nobody was home.

Part of the issue is from the sender…

Part of the issue is from the sender which didn’t honor the delivery address informed, so not PostNL fault, but now I am still waiting for the new address to be updated for the delivery and the app doesn’t show the link to schedule a delivery nor does the email one. The website is really bad. I am still not sure what is going on and how can I schedule the delivery

Two parcels were deliberately ordered…

Two parcels were deliberately ordered for drop-off at a nearby PostNL location.
Despite the presence of several PostNL points within the area, the parcels were instead delivered to a randomly selected and considerably distant, 8km, location.

The point of complaint is that PostNL cannot reasonably claim to act within its rights when parcels are deposited at arbitrary locations. The purpose of choosing a specific PostNL point is precisely to ensure proper delivery in case the recipient’s address cannot be reached.

Third time that nobody rings the bell…

Third time that nobody rings the bell at the delivery address.
For three times I've stayed home, waiting for the delivery, changing my appointments and routines to then the courrier not even trying to deliver it. Saw him pass by.
This time, a delivery that I really needed on this day, now is going to a Pick-up point 5 MINUTES away from the address, and I only can go get it tomorrow, which it's not suitable.
Insanely bad service, as they say the chat can contact the delivery person, but that's also not true.

Ongelooflijk slecht

Incredibly bad. The "poste restante" service, advertised on their website and confirmed by their customer service on the phone, doesn't work! I paid over 7 euros for mail that never arrived at destination, and which they were not even able to send back to me.

PostNL customer service number (NL) 088 868 4893

One star, because zero star not possible to select.

My package was delivered in the parcel machine, but upon entering the PIN code the door would not open twice and on 3rd attempt a parcel for someone else appeared, not my parcel. Customer services is hiding behind an utterly poorly trained chatbot that turns you crazy and it is extremely difficult to receive a number to call to get help from a human - and then the waiting starts. 200% disappointing and so NOT 2025...

Good job

5 years ago, PostNL was as bad as other postal services in the Netherlands. But I’ve seen major improvements.
Customer service is now easy to reach, both via chat and phone.
Couriers try to contact a neighbor if you’re not home, instead of just dropping your package at a distant service point.
Well done.
