Stress free car rental
We had a very positive experience with this car rental company. The whole process was smooth and well organized, from booking and communication to picking up and returning the car. Everything was clearly explained, and there were no unexpected complications or long waiting times.
A special thanks to Andre, who was our main contact. He was friendly, patient, professional, and always helpful. He made sure we had all the information we needed and was available whenever we had questions.
Overall, the service was reliable, efficient, and customer friendly. We were very satisfied with our experience and would definitely rent from them again.

In general everything was ok
In general everything was ok. They try to offer you its insurance (a bit expensive in my opinion) but you can discard it.
After that the car was perfect and the transfers very good.

After arriving from our flight with jet…
After arriving from our flight with jet 2 and getting to car pick up base we had to wait 15 minutes with young children as cars were being cleaned!! Getting back to base after holiday 1car so say had a small scratch on it we’re told not to worry about this originally transport back to airport was very slow as we very nearly missed flight. ABYSMAL service 😡

Please note that our shuttle service is complimentary and operates between the airport and our rental office. As the vehicles need to travel between both locations, a certain transfer time is always required, and this can occasionally be affected by traffic and periods of higher demand.
Regarding the vehicle collection, we also regret the additional waiting time while the car was being prepared. Our team aims to deliver every vehicle in suitable condition, and sometimes a few extra minutes are necessary to complete the cleaning process.
We always recommend allowing sufficient time for the return procedure and the shuttle journey to the terminal.

Great service, super staff
The staff was super kind, especially André who was in charge of collecting the car at the end of our holiday.
We decided to add the full coverage and also the pick-up and drop-off expetience was super nice. No need to read and signe tons of papers, just get on the car and off you go!
The day we will come back to Madeira we will rent the car with Klass Wagen for sure

I picked up a car in Porto
I picked up a car in Porto, was charged a €15 per day insurance surcharge at the desk to travel into Spain which was not made clear when I booked, and accidentally went onto a toll road whilst returning my vehicle - literally the final 20 mins of a week rental - incurring a 30 CENT fine, for which the company charged me 7 days of an electronic toll device “as per our terms and conditions” of €15+. I contacted customer services who simply said it’s on our terms and conditions, prove you paid the toll by cash/card and not on the device (again, 20 mins before the end of the rental), or we will charge you for using the device on all 7 days. €15 isn’t a huge amount of money, but the principle doesn’t sit right with me.
The usual pushy sales tactics around buying insurance also all applied. Make sure you take photos and videos of your car beforehand is all I can say, and get rental cover yourself beforehand on the usual price comparison sites, can get a year’s supply for the cost of 1-2 days the company would charge!
One day there will be a car rental company who don’t seem to be pirates, but not in 2026 it seems.

As previously explained, the Via Verde device rental fee applies whenever the device is used during the rental period, regardless of whether it is used at the beginning, during, or shortly before the end of the rental. As the device was activated during your rental, the applicable fee was therefore charged accordingly.
Regarding the insurance options, at the counter, customers may choose between leaving the required security deposit or opting for our local insurance, provided that all the relevant requirements are met. The choice is entirely up to the customer.
For customers who choose to leave a deposit, we explain their responsibility in the event of damage, as well as the applicable procedures. Customers are also provided with information regarding the potential cost of different types of damage. At the time of vehicle collection, we encourage all customers to take detailed photographs and videos of the vehicle. These can be used, together with the existing damage report, during the final inspection. Any damage already documented at the time of collection is not charged to the customer, and the security deposit is only retained if new damage is identified in accordance with the rental agreement.
We regret that your experience did not meet your expectations and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can continue to improve our service.

Staff was friendly, experienced and professional.
2nd time returning to this Klass wagen location.
Process was easy.
Not overly pushy with their insurance.
Be sure to take 20 to 30 mins to examine your car and take photos of every angle and wheel. You don't want to get owned for damage you did not cause.
Would return again at least the Porto, Portugal location.
