bait and switch operation. We prepaid our rental via booking.com , they did not respect the prepayment, demanded more money, rejected our car rental credit card insurance, and end up milking from us almost 3 times the prepaid rental fee.
Also they let us boil in the Romanian sun for an hour never came to pick us from the airport.

after a terrible experience at Porto with the carrental, no measures were taken regarding my complaints and on the end a data breach on their systems exposed private personal data ( ID Card, driver license and so on..). stay away from this company if you can!
even if the services are ok. They just sent me an email informing me they were hacked. They are sorry for losing all my id information and that's all. No credit monitoring , nothing. I am on my own.
Why do they store all this info if they are not able to secure it?

Klass Wagen kept my personal data from 2021, far longer than required. I have just received an email telling me that they had experienced a cyber attack, as a result of which an unauthorized third party gained access to my personal data. This also reminded me of a very bad experience with Klass Wagen Bucharest Airport in October 2021. I have a full review in the Klass Wagen Romania page. Sorry - website does not allow links in this post. Reading recent reviews, it seems that KW are still up their usual scamming tricks.

Kept my data for longer than required and have now informed me that the data has been leaked in a cyber breach. They have leaked all of my personal information plus passport/driving licence number.

The only positive: at pickup they gave us a free upgrade from a Polo with manual transmission to a T-Roc with automatic transmission.
Everything else was an experience to avoid. At check-in, even though I'd immediately explained that we already had external insurance, the agent kept pushing us to buy their policy, using out-of-place lines like "I hope you read the contract very carefully" or "you must have a lot of money if you're not interested in paying even for the smallest scratch," while showing us an endless price list with figures going over €10,000.
The real problem is the damage-inspection procedure, which is clearly stacked in the rental company's favor. We were given 30 minutes to photograph every mark on the car ourselves, in the dark (it was 9pm), with no staff member present to check it together with us. The sheet listing the car's pre-existing marks (13 in total) was only shown to us at drop-off, not at check-in, so we had no way of knowing beforehand what damage was already there before us. When we asked why there was no joint inspection, we were told plainly that the previous customer had full coverage, so in those cases "they don't check anything."
Consistent with this, if the car wasn't returned perfectly clean, they would charge a €30 cleaning fee and only inspect the vehicle afterward, without the customer present, implying they could then "find anything." In case of a mechanical breakdown during the rental, the tow truck cost would also have been on us.
As for the car itself, upgrade aside: the windshield was cracked, with a crack running from the center all the way to the upper right corner, and the tires were visibly worn.
At drop-off, even though we'd returned the car clean, the agent still tried to charge us for a mark he claimed wasn't in our photos. Luckily, based on experience from many other rentals, we'd filmed a 5-minute video walking around the entire car at pickup, which let us successfully dispute the charge.
In summary: a deceptive, one-sided damage-inspection process, a car with unresolved safety issues (cracked windshield, worn tires), and staff pushing for extra money with inappropriate tactics. If you rent from Klass Wagen in Bucharest, document everything with detailed photos and video, in good light, both at pickup and drop-off — or better, avoid them altogether.

⭐ 1 Star – Extremely disappointing and unacceptable customer service in Bucharest Otopeni.
My experience with Klass Wagen was extremely disappointing, mainly because of the attitude and behaviour of the staff at check-in, BOGDAN UDUBASEANU.
BOGDAN were rude, unhelpful and extremely condescending. Instead of focusing on helping me complete the check-in process, they appeared to be primarily interested in selling Klass Wagen’s own insurance.
I had already explained that I had insurance through my broker, yet I was repeatedly pressured to purchase their insurance. The way this was done felt aggressive, excessive and completely inappropriate. It was not simply an explanation of the available options — it felt like persistent pressure designed to make me feel that I should buy their insurance despite already having cover.
What was particularly unacceptable was the condescending way I was spoken to, as if I was being treated as an inconvenience rather than a customer. When staff can clearly see that a customer already has insurance, they should provide the necessary information and respect the customer's decision, not continue pushing their own product.
I have no problem with a company offering additional insurance, but there is a clear difference between offering it and using pressure, intimidation and an unpleasant attitude to try to make a customer purchase it.
This completely ruined the first impression of Klass Wagen and made the collection process unnecessarily stressful.
Klass Wagen needs to seriously review the behaviour of its check-in staff and the way insurance is being sold to customers. Customer service should never feel like a pressure-selling exercise.
I would not recommend Klass Wagen based on this experience.
Five stars only for Mario on check out , friendly, professional and very polite.
Thank you Mario!!!

The car from Klass Wagen was good. I had booked the car through a third party website, including full insurance. I did not appreciate the aggressive approach Klass Wagon took to upselling additional insurance to me when I collected the car. It was heavily implied my insurance through the third party was essentially useless, I had wasted my money and if I needed to claim it would be long and complicated and would require a police report. Klass Wagon charged me 900 euros (!!) for a tiny chip in the windscreen - fair play as it was in the standard list of charges. I had no issues claiming this from my insurance provider, I simply uploaded the invoice from Klass Wagon and received a full payout. I am extremely glad I refused Klass Wagon's oversell of very expensive duplicate insurance.

I rented a car from Klass Wagen Bucharest from 19–31 August (registration B‑222‑KWG). On 25 August, I called customer service to confirm whether I could leave the car for one day on the 26th. I was told it was completely fine and that there would be no additional charges. When I arrived on 26 August, I was unexpectedly informed that I would need to pay a 30‑euro fee. This fee was never mentioned during the call, and the sudden change created unnecessary stress. I had to look for parking at the last minute and nearly missed my flight because of the misinformation.
I have been renting from Klass Wagen since 2020 and have always appreciated the service, which makes this experience particularly disappointing. Clear communication is essential, and I hope the company reviews this situation to prevent similar issues for future customers.

Unfortunately, my experience with Klass Wagen Otopeni was extremely disappointing from beginning to end.
I paid a considerable amount for the rental and specifically paid extra for a newer car, expecting the vehicle I had booked and paid for. Not only did I not receive the car I had reserved, but apparently there wasn't even a car ready for me when I arrived.
After already waiting around one hour at the airport for the shuttle, I then had to wait another 30 minutes at their office while they looked for an available car that they could wash and prepare for me.
And after all that waiting, the vehicle I was eventually given was damaged and scratched all around.
If you charge a customer extra for a newer vehicle, handing over a visibly battered car after making them wait while you find and prepare one is simply unacceptable. I genuinely struggled to understand what exactly I had paid the additional money for.
Unfortunately, the shuttle service was just as disappointing on the return. It took approximately another hour to get from their office back to the airport by shuttle.
What disappointed me just as much was the attitude when I returned the car. I was asked whether everything had been OK, and I clearly explained that no, I was not satisfied. I specifically mentioned that I had received a different car from the one I had booked, that I had paid extra for a newer vehicle, and that the car I was given was already damaged all around.
The response I received was simply: “Ah, OK...”
No attempt to understand the issue, no explanation, no apology and no apparent interest in addressing the fact that I had paid extra for a service I simply did not receive.
I don't normally leave negative reviews lightly, but in this case I paid a premium price and received anything but a premium service: not the car I booked, no vehicle ready when I arrived, a damaged replacement despite paying extra for a newer car, excessive waiting times for the airport transfers, and complete indifference when I raised these issues in person.
Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Klass Wagen Otopeni and I certainly would not use them again.

Actually we had a horrific experience with the guy giving us the car, but Vlad at the return was very helpful and also the central persons helping us to extend the rental.

Long wait to be picked up from the airport, the shuttle was a man in a car, we were 5 ,we had to leave a family member at the airport because they can't accommodate more than 1 person. I have completed the express pickup, I was told I doesn't make any difference he still has to manually update all the documents.
The whole experience was a disaster.

You should be ashamed of employees like BOGDAN UDUBASEANU!!! We were treated with zero respect just because we had our own insurance and did not purchased your product. Bogdans sales tactic was aggressive and very very pushy and intimidating and threatening!!!!!! We said 10 times we are covered and we don’t need this at all. He tried and tried again and again and made us feel so uncomfortable!!! We won’t be using you again as this isn’t how people should be treated at all !!!!!!

EDIT / Response to Klass Wagen:
Your response is pure PR. The pickup agent DID NOT inspect the car with me; he only aggressively pushed the extra insurance, logged the fuel/mileage, and handed over a dirty car full of scratches and a cracked windshield. Checking the roof twice at drop-off isn't "standard procedure" - it's a targeted tactic to charge customers who decline your insurance. I got my deposit back solely because I refused to sign your bogus damage report. What you write online doesn't match how you treat customers in reality!
Klass Wagen Timisoara uses aggressive inspection tactics at drop-off if you don't purchase their full insurance. They provided a car with countles pre-existing scratches, and at return, the agent checked the roof TWICE searching for anything to charge me for (knowing nobody takes photos of the roof at pickup). I refused to sign their unfair damage report and stood my ground until they released my full deposit. Pure intimidation attempt targeting rushing customers. Avoid this company!

The rental proved a shakedown. When I arrived to pick up the car, the company said I needed to pay three times the agreed price to be protected. Otherwise, I would need to give them a EUR 2,400 deposit, and they threatened that eight out of ten renters who don't take their insurance are billed for "scratches" on the return. The cost for a scratch? EUR750. When I protested, politely (no shouting) the unfriendly staff threatened to call the police. Stay away.
I have now read their response, and it is disingenuous at best. In my four decades renting cars around the world, this was my worst single experience. Their threats and implied dangers seemed quite real to me - either take their unbelievably bad deal with a giant deposit or accept to pay up (two times what the initial rent cost), almost certain threatened fines for even a minor scratch. This is a shakedown. I had hoped Romania had changed since I first visited during the 1980s as a journalist. In many ways, it has improved. During that time, the dictator Ceaucescu banned all cars overnight. Unfortunately, the Wild West robber barron mentality lingers - at least at this car rental agency.

WARNING: Bought a voucher through EuropeAuto. They refused to accept my voucher unless I took out there insurance, at GBP 250.

Not recommended.
The car was dirty, so it was not possible to do a full check of the car. Yet the seller told me, that if the car was dirty upon return, I would have to pay extra. He also told me the insurence I bought from AutoEurope was invalid, and that I needed to buy insurence from them. If not, They would to through the car with a magnify galss and find all the small scratches, even if it was made from a bumble bee, and I would have to pay extra.
The car was not full tank upon pickup.
I cannot recomment this company to anyone. Keep away - it's going to cost you way more in the end.

Company offers competitive pricing, easy pick up and drop off. Once you arrive at the airport shuttle comes regularly to pick up clients at the designated area and transport off site where the lot is located. Once at the lot you fill up paperwork and have 30 minutes to personally inspect the vehicle and upload your own pictures in the system following the instructions. We were given the car model we booked. The fleet is new and the staff is profesional and explains the process and options available. Florin was the agent who took care of us both at pickup and drop off and he did a great job. We will use this company again in the future
