All in all a very long (58 days)and…
All in all a very long (58 days)and disappointing experience, starting 6th June and ending 3rd of August.
here's the story.
After trawling through numerous online reviews I contacted Droneworx (DJI approved) with details of my drone
problems - broken undercarriage on a DJI Phantom 4 pro.
They arranged collection by DPD on Tuesday 5th June and it was collected at about 10pm.
Wednesday 6th June at 10.38. The P4P was signed for at Droneworx.
I'd arranged for the 24hr express service they offer so was a bit disappointed to hear nothing until I received
the estimate on 7th at 16.35 - new undercarriage, upper and lower shell (legs screws had ripped out of the screw holes),
£235.99p - includes postage, initial inspection, and testing. I paid this by 16.50 the same day.
There was no charge for the 24 hour express service on the estimate so I'm not sure what happened to that.
I just let things run their course. I heard nothing from Droneworx at all for the next 13 days so I emailed
(20th June)asking for an update. They replied the same day apologising and saying they were still waiting for
delivery of the undercarriage from DJI. I had no idea until now that the parts weren't available for my P4P.
The 22nd came and went with nothing heard, so much for the 6 - 12 working days turn round (stated on their website)
and that doesn't count Saturdays when they're open. 23rd June - 3rd July, nothing! So I emailed 3rd July asking for
another update, they replied within a couple of hours - apologising again, they're STILL waiting for the landing gear from DJI.
4th July I Bought myself a Mavic pro Platinum bundle today - not from Droneworx though.
10th July, I receive an email to say the undercarriage has arrived and my P4P will be repaired today.
Later that day I receive an email to say my drone is on the way back (UKmail tracking number included).
Wed 11th July UKmail tracking shows message "Sorry but your package has been delayed, please contact the sender".
Emailed Droneworx who rang me a little later blaming the courier and told me it should be with me by Friday (13th July).
On Friday I receive an email saying the drone has been sent - tracking number included. When I check the
tracking number it gives an expected delivery date of Monday 16th, so I don't even get the 24 hour delivery that I paid for.
16 July Received my P4P today, upper shell NOT replaced and lower shell NOT replaced, so they reaffixed the new legs to the
damaged lower shell!! Also some sticky residue on the top of the upper shell.
Emailed Droneworx and they rang me back withing about 15 minutes. After a brief conversation with Edward (he seemed genuine and sincere)
I agreed to return it, at their expense, for the repairs to be completed properly.
July 18th P4P signed for at Droneworx.
July 31st emailed for an update. Reply sent early on 1st August apologising and saying they would 'endeavour' to complete the job today
or tomorrow and have it shipped back as quickly as possible. Delay due to the large number of damaged drones during the nice
weather (which I have now missed) coming in for repair.
August 2nd. received P4P back today looking shiny and new and a set of props as a good will gesture.
August 3rd test flew for a few mins, I get a warning message "Downward sensing not working, land immediately fly with caution"
Suddenly at about 60ft or so the P4P fell out of the sky, 23% battery remaining.
Smashed undercarriage, gimbal/camera completely severed. Aircraft no longer starts up. Heartbroken! Sending it to DJI this time!
