Unbelievably bad customer service. ☹️…

Having received a reply without offer of help from the company I can now confirm that after various other attempts to contact them they emailed me this morning a very short mail officially refusing any intervention to collect the bulky faulty product and give me a refund. NB. I notified them of the issue 24 hours after the purchase. Can’t believe such an horrendous customer service ☹️

HI Patrizi

Thank you for your review.

I am very sorry to hear about your experience. I completely understand your frustration, especially as you informed us about the faulty product shortly after purchase and have since made several attempts to find a solution.

I also understand how disappointing it must be to be left with a bulky item that is faulty and difficult to transport, only to feel that you have not received the support you expected. This is certainly not the experience we want our customers to have.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We take comments like yours seriously, as they help us identify where we need to improve both our service and communication.

Have a nice day.

Review of Dyson UK

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Avoid Dyson products.

Bought an expensive Dyson Pencil vacuum cleaner and registered it straight away for the warranty. However after a few weeks it stopped working. Contacted Dyson to be told the problem might be a faulty filter and they would send me a replacement. However,as they didn’t have any filters, I won’t get my vacuum cleaner working again for at least 5/6 weeks which is totally unacceptable. I certainly can’t afford to buy a temporary replacement but I need to vacuum my property. Made a complaint to Dyson last week and haven’t even received an aknoledgment. !! So disappointed. Will never buy Dyson again.

Not happy

Not happy. Bought two large rechargeable lamps which I took home myself as I had a lift in my friend’s car (I have mobility problems and can’t drive and need a mobility aid to walk around). However both are not working. Shop assistant said she couldn’t show them on to me in store so I trusted they were fully functional. Got in touch via mail the next day requesting someone to collect the items as I won’t have the chance of going back with a car for a very long time. I write to the company four times since and still no reply. Dreadful.
Today I got a reply with no offers of a solution! What’s the point? Made it worse actually ☹️

Hi Patrizia

Thank you for your review.

I am sorry to hear about your experience. I completely understand how frustrating it must have been to purchase two large lamps, only to discover that neither of them was working once you got them home.

I also understand that returning the products is particularly difficult given your mobility challenges and the fact that you do not have easy access to transportation. On top of that, I am sorry to hear that you have contacted us several times without receiving a response. That is certainly not the level of service we aim to provide.

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us, as your feedback helps us improve our service and customer communication.

Have a nice day.

Trusted this platform to advertise two jobs I needed doing at my newly bought flat. Both contractors seem to have good reviews and seems knowledgeable. However it turned out to be the worsts decision ever I contacted MyJobQuote customer support and didn’t get any help. I had to write various long emails explaining the same things to always different people only to be told that it wasn’t their responsibility. Although I do understand their position as a mere platform to look for contractors, I would have appreciate if they made sure these traders were taken out of their list of recommend business . This would have avoided me two very expensive wrong decisions. I will definitely avoid this platform next timeout😞
Just updating my review as I still have to have any interest or offer of help fro my job.com. Wish I never used that platform 😠

Review of Tesco Bank

Rated 1 out of 5 stars

Most uncaring Bank ever experienced.

I have a Tesco Savings account which I opened many years ago when still fit and healthy. Unfortunately my health is very poor nowadays and am in and out of hospital for therapies and various operations. I don’t use my account very much but few weeks ago I decided to treat myself to a coffee and a piece of cake before another set of heavy therapy. I don’t go out often as I have mobility issues and am very fragile. I only have my disability to live on and that doesn’t allow me to afford very much outside my daily living expenses. I was therefore totally gutted when, having reached my chosen coffee shop I realised I could not access my money (£24 left in my account). The card was “eaten”by the machine without clear explanation. So I had no choice but to go back home without my little treat. I contacted Tesco Bank in writing THREE TIMES and no even a reply yet. As it is I am moving out of UK as I still have a sister who lives abroad and can look after me. Hence I don’t have a bank account in the uk anymore so I can’t transfer my money. I am disgusted by the total lack of interest showed by Tesco Bank and their dreadful customer support. This is not the way to treat a long term disabled customer. 😔
Just an update: still no contacts from Tesco bank. In fact they sent me a letter to say my account is up and running but they have taken my cash card which means ,as I don’t have any more current account that I can’t have access to my money. Contacted financial Onbudsman today to make a complaint 😠

Review of Hotpoint

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Very upset Unfair treatment but managed to talk to a very understanding resolution officer who was lovely and solved my issues. Thanks Mohammed and thanks Trustpilot 🙏

I bought beginning of march this year,an Indesit washing machine. I am disable and live in a small flat on my own so only do one light washing a week. I always use a quick cycle but decided to try Eco. The machine just wouldn’t take in any water, just keeping on going round and round. Eventually I put my usual cycle which worked perfectly fine. I,however decided to call the helpline to see why it was not working on the Eco cycle. I had to do a factory reset over the phone and it worked. Some time later I put another load in and try the Eco cycle again. To my surprise it still wasn’t taking in water. I rang again to see if I could get some guidance on what to do and customer service decided to arrange for an engineer to visit. Terry was no mention of any charges. I am undergoing very intensive treatments and find it difficult to go through the day at times. The day before the engineer visit I received a text advising on a 7.30 am appointment. As I knew that was going to be an impossible time for me, asked my son,who was visiting me,to cancel it I don’t have any digital skills and am totally technologically ignorant so would have found it very difficult to do it myself. The appointment was arranged for a different day but unfortunately at the same time. As my son wasn’t coming for a while I tried to cancel myself and thought I succeeded. I also decided it wasn’t worth the hassle to have someone out as I had quite happy not to use the Eco cycle. To my surprise 7.15 am next morning the bell rang. I was totally fixed up because of the effect of the medication I need to take. I explained what the problem was saying I was happy to just use the others cycles. He wanted to test it anyway and,as the time over the phone it started although taking a while. He said unfortunately that’s how the Indesit machines worked unlike the Hotpoint I have used all my life. I apologise and thanked him and he said there was no problem at all and left. Again no mention was made of any charges either before or after. Few days later I decided to try the Eco cycle but it did not start or take in any water although I let it run without taking water for ten minutes. Then I emptied the machine and try again and it worked. So I was right:there was clearly a problem with the Eco cycle when the machine had a load in. I decided that it was not worth to go through all that bother again for something I could live without. Few weeks later I received an abrupt letter from Hotpoint asking for a payment of £75 for the engineer visit as”no fault was found “. I live on my disability living allowance of £570 per month. I have to cover maintenance costs ground rent insurance water bill electricity bill and pay for some of my medications which don’t come on the NHS. I have very little money left for food after all that. £75 it’s a huge amount for me. It’s totally unfair as if I knew, would have not accepted the offer of the visit from the engineer. I have been worried sick since the letter but couldn’t get to the right department over the phone although spending 3/4 hour waiting and being asked to repeat the story three times! I can’t go through it all again. I asked if I could send an email but apparently Hotpot doesn’t have one or a complaints department. I am totally disgusted by the treatment I received considering I have been their customer for the past forty years. Dreadful. Although Hotpoint has contacted me in response to my review, am as yet to receive any correspondence or call from them.
Just wanted to say how lovely it was today to talk to Mohammed this morning. He was extremely kind and understanding, listening to my issues and offering apologies and a wave of the fee I have been so worried about. Hotpoint please employ more customers service officers like Mohammed. Thanks again 🙏😊

Moved to Vodafone on the ninth of this month (April) for my home broadband. They had a good deal and reviews were mostly positive. The broadband seem to be ok barring a few minor issues but unfortunately the engineers that came to set up the system managed to damage my Satellite dish. I warned them to be VERY careful as the signal went off as they were on a ladder right on my dish. After they came down the signal kept glitching to then totally disappearing. I called a satellite engineer out and he confirmed a damage to the LNB clearly cause by touching the dish. I notified City Fivre straight away with no response and also Vodafone. However as today still no signal and the prospect of spending not sure how much to have 😞

Only rated one star because I can’t give ZERO. Decided to treat my son to a Luxury Hot Chocolate and was given a very small hit chocolate in a normal size teacup with no whipped cream or anything else. It was lukewarm and tasteless and given with a grunt. I am disabled with a walking aid and wasn’t offered to take it to the table. Absolutely awful. Not what I was expecting from MandS😞😠

Bought a Salter pan to keep for when my new induction hob would be up and running. However it doesn’t work on induction although it clearly states below that it does. Contacted Salter and they won’t help as they told me to return it to the store. I didn’t keep the receipt as I didn’t envisage any issue as it’s not an electrical product. So I ended up wasting my money. Salter should at least have arranged to collect the product for examination but they don’t seem to care. Dreadful company.

Reply from Salter

Good Morning Patrizia,
We’re very sorry to read about your experience and understand how frustrating this must have been, especially when you’d planned ahead for your new induction hob.
All Salter induction-suitable cookware is tested to meet induction requirements, so we’re sorry to hear this pan did not perform as expected. When a product is purchased through a third-party retailer, our process is to advise returning it to the store of purchase within the first 12 months of purchase.
That said, we do genuinely care about feedback, as it helps us review both our product performance and how clearly our advice is communicated. We’d welcome the opportunity to look into this further and see if there’s anything more we can do to help.
Please be assured that we have reached out to you directly via email to look into this further.
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, we’re sorry it didn’t meet expectations and appreciate you raising your concerns.
Best regards,
Aleksandra

Bought a Bose portable speaker for my son’s Christmas present. Couldn’t afford a ew one so went to CeX as I often shop there and never had any issue, but mainly because of theirs five years warranty were they state that if they can’t fix it they will replace it or give you a full refund. My son is at University and one of his flat mates has one exactly the same. However the sound of his friend speaker was a lot better and the switches, which should have been totally sealed as it’s a waterproof item, were sticking out. None of these issues were listed when purchased. In fact the only issue should have been “out of the box” but,as it happened,it actually came with the original box. However at the store my son was originally offered store vouchers, which we were not happy with as we wanted a replacement or our money back. Eventually they changed their mind and said they would organise a replacement sent to my son’s adress. In the end, however, they decide to just give us our money back. No apologies, living is with no speaker although there’s a comparable one available but in a store too far for us and more expensive. Not happy.
Furthermore my son just informed me that the speaker we bought as a genuine Bose product was actually a counterfeit. This is totally unacceptable as CeX should check the items they sell as officially they are to blame as they guarantee the item. Terrible.

Review so people know what Next customer service are like

"Dear Customer Service

I’m extremely annoyed and disappointed by the service I’ve received both in store and over the phone today.
On Monday 26/01 I contacted customer service over the phone regarding an issue with a child’s winter coat bought in store as a Christmas gift for my little grandson.
The person who bought it (mother in law) didn’t keep the receipt as she frequently buys from Next and has never had to return anything before.
My little grandson wore the coat twice and unfortunately on the second time of wearing it got muddy. I washed it following the care guidelines on the label but in my view it came out lumpy hence why I decided to contact customer service over the phone asking if there was anything I could do despite not having the receipt.
The lovely customer service lady told me there would be no issues as Next policy is to either offer an exchange or gift card for the value of the item even without a receipt as it was their own product.
I asked what I should do if given any issues on store and she confirmed that wouldn’t happen but if it did just to tell the store manager to call customer service.
Having gone to the store today 28/01 and being made to wait ages while she had a conversation with someone she knew I was asked for the receipt. I told her what I was told by customer service over the phone as she said she wasn’t sure so went to her manager.
She disappeared for a while and when she returned the proceeded to scan a piece of paper and putting £15 on a gift card without giving me the option of an exchange.
As the coat was bought for £30 and the online price was also £30 I asked why I was given only £15 and she claimed the online price was £15 even though when I checked it was still £30. I wanted a swap as with £15 I wouldn’t be able to replace the coat.
When I got home being extremely upset I contacted customer service over the phone again and both times I spoke to people who had very poor English, were totally unhelpful and when I asked for their names they mumbled and put the phone down.
This is not the sort of treatment I expect from a store like Next that me and my family have spent many years being loyal customers.

Regards
A very unhappy customer"

That's my original complaint and this was the response:

"Good Afternoon Patrizia,

I'm really sorry that we have failed to meet your expectations whilst in store on this occasion but also within our customer services team. We always aim to provide exceptional service to our customers, but sadly we've let you down.

To ensure this matter is resolved for you, I shall apply an additional refund of £15.00 to the refund card. Furthermore, I will be providing a £15.00 goodwill gesture in recognition of the poor service and inconvenience experienced.

Could you kindly provide the 16-digit refund card number? I will await your response.

Kind Regards
Chelsea"

Instead of responding herself she decided to pass it on to someone else:

"Dear Patrizia,

Thank you for your response, and I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

In accordance with my colleague's offer, a £15 increase will be applied to the balance of your previous gift card.

I have submitted a request to increase the balance on your previous gift card. Kindly allow 4 to 6 hours for the balance to be updated.

I hope this resolves your query today, if we can help you further, please let us know in your reply.

Kind Regards,
Sohel"

Having replied to the last email pointing out that wasn't what I was promised, I'm still waiting for anyone to get in touch with me to sort this out.
This is not worth the hassle as the original code was £30 anyway and the only compensation they've given me is £15 for the amount of aggravation I've had to endure over the phone and email, I will think twice before buying anything from Next in the future.
Having sent as requested a copy of my review, I received a short email asking for my name 🤷🏻‍♀️Next clearly NOT as it used to be Dreadful.

Had a visit two weeks ago to Cafe Nero in Coventry city center and AGAIN had an awful experience. Customer service is absolutely dread. Only paper cups as staff said it’s easier as they are under staffed and,on quote”what difference does it make?” Coffee were lukewarm. Dreadful! Even worst got in touch with customer support on the same day and, after several messages,STILL NO REPLY! I submitted a valid in date, right items bought ect receipt for an online shopping at Tesco back in December 2025. Receipt wasn’t accepted which seems to be a usual occurrence with ANY online receipt submitted to Green Jinn. Usually I contacted them and they eventually reply apologies and credit the cashback. However even after sending five emails and all my receipts again and again I have been totally ignored. Every time I get a “two working days “promise for a reply but still nothing. I would not have purchased those items if I had to pay full price as cheaper alternatives would have been available. Awful customer service. Hope this can be useful to others people who think of using Green Jinn.
In reply to the message I received from Green Jinn on Trustpilot,I have submitted aFULL receipt upteen times! Usually they complain as they don’t like online receipt and want paper ones so this time we specifically requested a paper receipt from Tesco which,as it’s not a normal till in store receipt,it comes on bigger sheets which we sent to Green Jinn from beginning to end.

Hi Patrizia,

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’ve reviewed the receipt in question and found that the submissions provided were partial or cut-off images, which made it difficult for our team to validate the claim. To process cashback, we need a full, clear copy of the receipt showing all required details.

Our team did advise submitting a complete receipt to avoid rejection, and this requirement is also outlined in our Terms & Conditions, which are agreed to before using the app. That said, we understand the frustration this situation caused, and as a goodwill gesture, we have accepted your claim.

We hope this helps clarify the situation and is useful for other users when submitting receipts in the future. Thank you for your understanding.

After being given a near hour thrilling over the phone on top of my normal claim placed at the beginning of October fir a lost/stolen less than £500 worth laptop, I have no heard from the company. The standard ten working days have come and gone and I still haven’t been able to replace the laptop. Please think hard before choosing Admiral for your insurance as you will be left high and dry if you would ever need to place a claim 😞
As I thought, my claim has been turned down. Lots of effort on my side for nothing as they totally utterly couldn’t care less. Please avoid using this insurance if you don’t want to have similar problems. Thanks.
