Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 3,171 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people reported significant problems with delivery services, including lost or delayed packages, inaccurate delivery dates, and false delivery attempts even when customers were present. Reviewers also faced considerable frustration with customer service, finding it difficult to contact a real person, encountering unhelpful automated systems, and often receiving conflicting information from staff described as rude, unhelpful, or incompetent. However, some customers also noted positive interactions with individual staff members, describing them as patient, professional, and providing excellent customer service at specific locations.

This has to be the worst delivery…

This has to be the worst delivery service in the world. Simple letter to be shipped and delivered to a clear address - 3 days the letter sat in someone's desk because they "couldn't find the address". What a waste of money and time. Stick to Fed Ex in the future.

Customer Feedback Regarding UPS Shipping Pricing Policy

I recently visited the UPS Store in Bellevue, Nebraska, intending to mail a standard yellow manila envelope to New Jersey. Unfortunately, I left without shipping it because of the pricing and the policy that was explained to me.

I was told that, because of the size of my envelope, I could not ship it as-is without paying approximately $64. However, I was also told that if I transferred the exact same contents into a UPS-provided box, the shipping cost would be only about $20—even though the box itself would weigh more than my envelope.

As a customer, I found this policy confusing and difficult to understand. Charging more to ship a lighter envelope than a heavier box does not seem to make sense from a customer's perspective.

As a result, I chose to take my business to the U.S. Postal Service instead. I suspect I am not the only customer who has walked away because of this pricing structure.

I wanted to share this feedback because I believe this policy is costing UPS business. I hope you will review it and consider whether there is a more customer-friendly approach.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

UPS Delivery is TERRIBLE and UNRELIABLE

UPS delivery service is absolutely terrible. We routinely wait 3 to 5 hours longer than the delivery times we are notified of, and when a signature is required we ALWAYS waste the better part of a full day waiting long past promised delivery times. Our family business used UPS years ago, but we discontinued our relationship with UPS due to their inability to honor their promised delivery times. It has been a chronic issue for years, and their business leaders just don’t get it. NEVER use UPS TO SHIP, because your customers will blame you for UPS’s terrible service.

UPS deserves zero stars

UPS deserves zero stars. They need a signature for delivery; fine, give me heads up regarding the delivery time so I'm available. Telling me that a delivery was attempted and failed for no signature after the fact is unhelpful. Then you try customer service and their AI bot is unhelpful so you ask for a person and the language barrier keeps them from being helpful. There's a signature box on the delivery notification form that the delivery drivers won't accept. You can't get a delivery notice before the attempted delivery. You can't get ahold of anyone who can help. Their system sucks and they don't care. If I see an order will be delivered via UPS, I'm just going to cancel the order; I don't need it that bad that I'd deal with UPS. I'd rather my package be delivered via carrier pigeon.

Packages left on side of road

For the second time, UPS left a large package of mine on the side of the road. Sort of near my mailbox, sort of in a ditch, across the road, two hundred feet from my house. This is absolutely ridiculous.

Terrible Service

I was expecting to recieve my order on July 15th. I was home and they did not ring or knock on the door. They claimed that I refused the package which I would not because I needed it. In the past when they didn’t deliver it, but claimed that they did, they said that it was unable to deliver because I wasn't there. We checked our cameras when they supposedly delivered it and longer than that, no one came. It would be nice if they would say the truth why it couldn't be delivered.

Pathetic customer service insanely high fees

One of the most frustrating and pathetic experiences with UPS. International delivery has become a mental harassment. Multiple emails about same thing from different people. No one takes responsible action. No one tells you what to do beforehand and they threaten you to dispose the package at customs. Their fees are insanely high, which also they don't inform before hand. I would NEVER go with or recommend UPS again

Lied about delivery

Delivery due in 2 days time.
Delivery allegedly attempted today at 12.14pm and marked as "unable to deliver as no one at home.
Been sitting in my living room all day waiting. Also checked my Ring Video Doorbell footage and no one has been.
Complete and utter liars and impossible to get hold of customer services

DO NOT USE: UPS employees use customs forms to pick what to steal.

Sending an international package with UPS is a huge mistake. You do the right thing and accurately declare what is inside for customs, but you are basically handing their workers a catalog to choose from. My package was stolen right out of their network. When I went through the agonizing process of filing a claim, the compensation they offered was a complete joke and didn't come close to covering what they lost. The whole system feels rigged against the sender. Do not trust UPS with your international parcels.

I recently sent a package via eBay selling with UPS and they lost the package. It was a pretty expensive computer part and have been trying in vain to get a claim to go through to them to be reimbursed but it is near impossible. They have by far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Please don’t ship with them.

Endlessly postponed delivery and no recourse

Every day this week UPS has said it will deliver my parcel in a defined three-hour window, so I have made sure someone is home in that window. Every day the delivery has failed to turn up, has showed as delayed 'but we still aim to deliver it today', and then has been rescheduled for the next day. It's now Friday and it's been rescheduled to next Monday. There is no way to contact UPS except either a chat bot or a phone bot and both will only give you a menu of choices, not respond to natural language. Unbelievably awful service, I will avoid shopping with companies who use them for delivery wherever possible.

Abysmal service and communication

Parcel out for delivery. Told one business day delay no reason no apology. Next day same thing happened. Tried phoning ups told in excess of 20 minutes wait time as like their customers they are expecting big delays. Terrible service terrible communication. Abysmal company. Strutting around in Village People style uniforms doesn’t make up for dreadful service.

Continuous delay after delay

Continuous delay after delay. My package is already sitting at a facility in my own county, yet you continue to claim it's being delayed because of the weather. That makes absolutely no sense when the weather here has been perfectly clear.

This is by far one of the worst delivery services I've ever dealt with. I'll be making sure that whenever I order something in the future, this company isn't the one delivering it. Do your job—that's what you're paid to do.

Another lost document

I should have learned from my past experiences. Two of my last five deliveries through UPS have been lost. I spent $51 to have a small, envelope-sized document sent "guaranteed" three-day delivery from Marina del Rey (Los Angeles) to Napa. Eight days later, no one knows where it is. No notification from UPS despite having been signed up for notifications. Now I have to re-send overnight mail via FedEx to meet a critical deadline. There's a reason UPS has a 1.2 customer satisfaction rating.
