Promises Promises

I went to but a riding mower on Saturday and was very happy to see a sign that says they promise 2 day delivery on Riding mowers. First they didn't have the one that I wanted and found out that they need to get approval to order more from the district manager. Sure. Buy the more expensive one and at the customer service counter they said it would be 4 days, not 2. Just figured typical, Then they gave me 12 hour. After waiting nearly 9 hours I called because all of a sudden the delivery date was changed to tomorrow. No call, no text, nothing. Now I have to take another day off to wait for a mower that may or may not show up. Store management should be fired. This is the third delivery I got punked on. Their disregard for their customers time is simply disrespectful. The icing on the cake is that they bait and switch. The advertised internet price is actually lower and they will not honor any of it. Never again. These people are just thieves. I think I am going start complaining to Consumer Protection agencies. Maybe some legal heat will get them to start acting like a respectable merchant.

Poor delivery scheduling

Ordered an electric range last week, I was told it would be delivered on July 18th. That morning I was told it would be delivered on July 25th. I looked for an earlier date and found delivery for July 21st. On that day the re-scheduled again to the 22nd. On the 22nd they re-scheduled AGAIN to the 24th! This is UNACCEPTABLE! I take time out of work for this! I should be refunded some money for this inconvenience!

My onerous online purchasing experience

My online purchasing experience with Lowes was so onerous that I will never do it again. It was a 2.5 hr. time investment to pick out all the items to be picked up at the local store. I tried to use the Lowes credit card but it was declined, not because it was maxed out but because of some reason that not even customer service at either synchrony bank nor Lowes could figure out. Lowes customer service said to delete the card and add it again. Believe me, this was not as easy as the Lowes people suggested. But I managed to noodle my way through it only to find out that the card had been frozen. To unfreeze the card required me to watch a video (a video!) on the multi step procedure because, the customer service agent explained, she couldn't remove the freeze for me. Fine, I'll just add another card that's not a Lowes card and use it to make the purchase. Not so fast! Upon pickup Lowes decides that it's a fraudulent transaction and canceled the order, without any warning or notification. In the meantime, the charge shows up as pending and I have to check back to make sure that I won't be charged for a canceled order. Unbelievable and unfortunate but not unexpected with Lowes. If we had been given any warning of the cancelation, we would have stopped at the orange store (H.D.). But by then, we were too far away to go back. A total of 3.5 hours of my time for absolutely nothing. If we have any choice at all, and I mean, any choice, we would not patronize Lowes either online nor at the physical locations. It's not that you should have to suffer all their shenanigans because Lowes offers tremendous value; it doesn't, not by a long shot! It's that in semi rural areas, one's choices are extremely limited if Am*zon can't deliver in time or at all. What I wouldn't give to have a Men*rds or even a H.D. within a 30-minute drive, even at current high gas prices!

On the other hand, credit must be given to the employees at the Waynesville, NC location, especially Kathy in the lumber department. She's always so helpful and cheerful, despite being one of only a handful of workers employed by the store at any given time. If it weren't for her, I'd give Lowes a negative rating.

Misleading business tactics and website

Not only is there over the phone customer service terrible but their website is not only poorly done but is misleading. I have a commercial account for over a decade and they cancelled me recently for a late payment. Then I was led to believe I was opening a new credit line as they suggested and turns out its just a rewards card dressed up as a credit card. waste of my time and money. Business Owner. Too bad, liked the actual store itself.

Horrible experience with home delivery…

Horrible experience with home delivery from Lowe’s for a new range. The range arrived dented. Before installing, Lowe’s customer service on the phone offered a discount with the option to order a “replacement” within 48 hours. I accepted this. Once installed, the extent of the dent was much more visible/larger than noticed outside. I called Lowe’s customer service (14 hours after delivery) and learned that a replacement is not an option. My only option is a return/refund. This is unacceptable for two reasons: (1) I would have to schedule two separate service windows (which is 12 hours of wasted time), first for the defective oven to be picked up and then for a new oven to be delivered. (2) When I purchased the oven originally I used a deal/sale that is not longer available. Thus if I return this defective oven, I will end up paying a few hundred more to order the exact same oven, in addition to being highly inconvenienced by two more service windows. The customer service representative I spoke to at the time of delivery who offered the discount, provided false information that I would simply be able to exchange or order a replacement if I decided to do so within that 48 hour period.

Furthermore, I paid for installation which online it states included the anti tip bracket. There are no disclaimers or exclusions cited online. At the time of delivery I learned that Lowe’s will not install the bracket on certain wall/flooring materials. They did not install line leaving the oven as an immediate safety risk.

I would like to point out that the crew delivering the oven were very hard working, polite, and respectful. They are clearly over worked, and facing unsafe workplace expectations. I was their 16th out of 21 deliveries in one day and they were exhausted.

Worse experience in my life

I made the mistake of buying a washer and dryer from Lowe’s. I purchased them online and paid for them. Once the purchase went thru I got notice that the washer wouldn’t be in for a week. Ok I can wait a week. In the mean time they put holds on my debit card every day for the full price of the washer and dryer. When I went to pick up the washer and dryer it was paid for in full from one of the numerous holds they had. Two days later they put another hold for the full amount against my account. So far the washer and dryer that was supposed to cost $1500 total has cost me 4 times that. I have argued with corporate and they say I need to wait 10 days for the hold to come off that it isn’t their fault. Still don’t know why I have 4 holds on my account. I spoke to my bank and they said Lowe’s put the holds on and what they did was fraudulent charges. I can understand a hold put on for the amount of the purchase one time, but four times, no. Customer service is no help at all and all they do well is keep you on hold. Do not do business with Lowe’s!!!!

Purchased a range -Good Luck!

Purchased a range, refrigerator and dishwasher in Feb of 2026. Finally received the range in April. Waited on the refrigerator until June and canceled the refrigerator because they kept delaying the delivery date, and purchased it from another Company. Now its July 20 and we are still waiting on the dishwasher. It was promised to be delivered today (after about 6 different delivery date changes)
I received an email this morning telling me the delivery was rescheduled to Friday July 24. We shall see….
Why in the world do you sell customers appliances when you cannot fulfill their orders in a timely manner? Also their automated customer service line is a joke! Good Luck getting through to someone.
I Am done with Lowes!

Lowe's is shifty with their price match guarantee

I am a bit disappointed with Lowe's right now. I had an issue with them honoring their price match. I purchased a washer and dryer in February and spent a bit over two thousand dollars. The price dropped shortly after and I contacted Lowe's for a price adjustment. I talked with the representative who assured me they would take care of the adjustment. I looked at my account later and noticed I was credited half the amount of the adjusted price. Unfortunately, it was a few months later when I noticed the discrepancy but I did call to ask why this happened. I was given the runaround by the representative that answered. I asked to speak to a supervisor and was eventually connected to someone who was not much help either. Bottom line is, if you find a lower price online make sure you get a screenshot so you won't be cheated out of your money when Lowe's does not fully honor their price match policy.

COMPUTER GENERATED PHONE SYSTEM FOR WARRANTIES

I have never had so much trouble with a third party warranty company associated with Lowes. They love to sell you those warranties, but you never talk to a real person after that. Their AI computer system is the most frustrating experience on earth! You CANNOT talk to a person. They CANNOT tell you what time someone will be there and they CANNOT tell you who is even coming to your home! Thought I was going to have a stroke!!!

OUTRAGEOUS FEES, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE

I did not get an email statement and Lowe's charged my account a $30.00 late fee. I am a disabled veteran and I called to have the late fee removed after paying the account in full and closed my account. Now Lowe's is charging me interest on the late payment when it was their fault for not sending me a statement. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS SORRY COMPANY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

we purchased a refrigerator for the benefits of an 84 year-old widow in our family. They delivered the refrigerator but did not hook up the icemaker and water dispenser, which were very important to her. Despite numerous calls and emails to Lowe’s “Executive Customer Service” promised response and resolution have yet to occur over two weeks later.

This is an example of how not to do customer service and we are done with Lowe’s

I’m only giving 1 star because zero is…

I’m only giving 1 star because zero is not an option. I placed a large delivery order for 50 sticks of lumber and paid $69 for same day delivery. There was a glitch in the Lowe’s website that changed my delivery address. Since the delivery was outsourced, it was delivered late at night. When I realized the order was delivered to the wrong address, I couldn’t call anyone because the store was closed. The next morning, I called Lowe’s to explain the issue. They waited 3 days before sending someone to pick the order back up. I was told the lumber I ordered could not be located where it was delivered and refused to give me a refund. What a terrible way to treat customers. The website changed the delivery address, but they are not accepting responsibility. I will never purchase from Lowe’s again and definitely will not recommend Lowe’s to anyone else.

I bought a nice washer and dryer set, commence nightmare experience

I bought a nice washer and dryer set, first time in my life I've splurged at all to provide an extra nice appliance for my family. But it arrived broken, which has set off the most frustrating process I could have imagined for the simplest of repairs.

I paid for installation. They arrive but won't install the washer bc the hookups are too old, so my apartment maint order new parts. They won't install the dryer bc they say the outlet doesn't work. So I wait a week and a half for my apartment maint to replace the washer hookups but they discover the dryer's outlet works fine but the dryer still doesn't work when plugged in. Remove the housing to where the power cord attaches to the dryer and found that the power cord had a screw driven right through the middle of one of the wires. So I contact Lowe's to tell them the dryer arrived defective and it needs a new power cord. They won't help me because it's been more than 48 hours (yes 48 hours is your only the support window unless you used a Lowe's credit card aka paid extra for it). Ao I have to call the manufacturer. Then they make an appointment. Then the contracted repair company calls to say they won't honor that appointment, and schedules it another week out. Now it's been 2 weeks. Then they show up but won't wait at the gate for me to let them in, so I call about it. Then someone comes and is like, "no one told me what was wrong with it." 🤦🏻‍♀️

So I have told Lowe's, then repeatedly told and emailed the manufacturer, and told and texted the contracted repair company ALL the same simple fact: the dryer arrived with a screw having been driven through its power cord during manufacturing when the housing was attached. Easy: All it needs is a new power cord.

Yet no one brought a power cord or even told the repair man that was the issue. Now I'm waiting another ten business days after waiting two weeks after receiving a defective dryer and still cannot do my laundry. After spending over $2G on these machines?! This is insane! I may as well just return them! No one even communicates. I'm a very chill person but this would drive anyone bonkers. Insane. I could do the stupid repair myself if it wouldn't void the warranty 😩

NEVER buy appliances from Lowe's. Never. What terrible customer service, start to finish, absolute garbage. It'll be a month and a half of this having to advocate for myself before I can even wash a load of laundry. Never again.
