Very uncomfortable seats on SK flight SK688 operated by Jettime B737
I was supposed to fly with SAS on 9 August from MXP to CPH (SK688), but the flight was "unfortunately" operated by Jettime that evening on their Boeing 737. When I entered the plane, the cabin was extremely hot since A/C was not on. Everyone was swetting and complaining. As other passengeres mentioned in some reviews, the seats on these Jettime planes were rockhard and very tight. The leg space was worse than on any other lowcost company. Even though I (fortunately) had an aisle seat, I was being pushed by the passenger in the middle seat next to me, who was just sitting normally in his seat, so I could not blame him for touching me and pushing me during the entire flight. I was vert frustrated. I had to lean towards the aisle during the whole flight in order to create more space and it was extemely uncomfortable to sit like that for almost 2 hours from MXP to CPH. Since I was leaning outside the seat area towards the aisle in order to avoid being pushed and touched by the passenger next to me, I was hit by a passing, overweight crew member several times, who did not even apologize a single time. If I knew that Jettime had such horrible seats and that the flight was operated by Jettime, I wouldn't have booked that SAS flight. I am extremely disappointed by Jettime's staff and comfort onboard. SAS should avoid using this airline in the future due to lack of comfort onboard.
No manners personnel
Flight SK2537 No greeting on entering. One stewardess seeming unmotivated, leaning to the wall, crossing her arms. Very annoying high houwling sound in row 14, too long for my nervs, before takeoff and after landing. Bad delay of 90 minutes.
The worst
The worst. Cancelled our flight didn’t even let us know then refused to give compensation. Dont waist your time and energy with this terrible company.
SAS customer service is practically…
SAS customer service is practically non-existent. We have been trying to obtain a refund since March for a flight that SAS cancelled. As a result, we were forced to purchase replacement flights with a different airline at our own expense.
Despite submitting a refund claim and receiving a reference number, every time we try to access the claim through the SAS portal, we are told that the reference number does not exist. We have been left chasing this for months, with no clear explanation or satisfactory resolution.
The entire process has been incredibly frustrating and time-consuming. SAS urgently needs to invest in additional customer service staff and, more importantly, ensure that staff are properly trained and equipped to deal with customer enquiries and refund requests efficiently. Customers should not have to spend months pursuing a refund for a flight that was cancelled by the airline.
Unaccompanied minor
Before the trip, I contacted SAS customer service 4 separate times to clarify what was included in my daughter’s unaccompanied minor ticket, especially checked baggage, food and drinks.
Nobody seemed to know for certain. The agents either read from the SAS website or had to ask a supervisor, while the website itself contained conflicting information. This felt particularly uncomfortable when the service concerns a child travelling without a parent.
My daughters have travelled alone with SAS 3 times before. The previous year, checked baggage, food, snacks and drinks had been included. This year we were told that none of these were included, even though the price had increased. However, once my daughter was actually onboard the flight to Sweden, it turned out that food and drinks were included after all, while checked baggage was not.
The much more serious issue happened on the day of the flight home.
My daughters were already onboard the flight from Stockholm Arlanda to Málaga when the older sister mentioned that the younger one was feeling slightly unwell. She occasionally has a sensitive stomach due to gluten intolerance, especially very early in the morning, and they had been up since 4 AM. The cabin crew decided to take them off the plane and handed them back to their grandfather at the gate.
I have no problem with that decision, as the crew could not know whether she was actually sick or not.
But the crew refused to speak to me on the phone when I wanted to explain about her gluten intolerance.
The girls were extremely upset. When my father asked the staff how the children were now supposed to get home to Spain, the answer he received was simply: “Well, not on this flight!”
After that, nobody told their grandfather what he was supposed to do next. The children were crying, exhausted and just wanted to go home. It was very early in the morning and they had already been travelling and waiting for hours. Nobody helped them with rebooking or explained what would happen to their tickets.
They therefore left the airport and went home to sleep.
Nobody from SAS called me. Ever.
I then spent several hours that day trying to get in contact with SAS ground staff at Arlanda. Eventually, their grandmother in Sweden managed to reach someone at the airport. Only then were we told that the tickets had been cancelled as a “no show”.
What concerns me most is that SAS never contacted me to tell me that my children were no longer on the flight.
For a service involving children travelling without a parent, I expected SAS to have clear procedures, knowledgeable customer service staff and much better communication when something unexpected happened.
I eventually booked completely new tickets with Norwegian. The information was clear, the booking was straightforward, and my daughters came home safely to me the following day.
Very disappointing experience with SAS…
Very disappointing experience with SAS regarding lounge access in Alicante.
I purchased a more expensive SAS Plus Smart ticket specifically because it included lounge access. Before purchasing, I checked the lounge information provided through SAS and the SkyTeam information available via the links on their website. Alicante was shown as having an eligible lounge.
When I arrived at the lounge, I was refused entry and was told that the lounge did not cooperate with SAS.
I contacted SAS and even offered screenshots showing the information that was available to me when I made the booking. I also made it clear that this happened on two separate flights, so there was no question of a duplicate claim.
SAS's response was particularly disappointing. Instead of addressing the obvious issue — why was this lounge presented in SAS's information as available to a passenger purchasing a fare with lounge access? — I was simply told that the lounge did not cooperate with SAS and that I had been informed about this at the airport.
That completely misses the point. Being informed at the airport that a service I had already paid for was not available does not explain why SAS's own information led me to believe that it was available when I purchased the ticket.
SAS then closed the case without properly addressing this question.
I am not complaining about the price of a coffee or a lounge visit. I paid extra for a specific benefit, checked the information provided by SAS before purchasing, and was unable to use that benefit. What disappointed me most was not even the original mistake, but the way SAS handled the complaint afterwards.
If the information provided by SAS is not reliable enough to determine whether a purchased benefit will actually be available at the airport, passengers should at least be told that clearly before paying extra for it.
I have flown with SAS many times and have successfully used lounge access at other airports. Unfortunately, my experience in Alicante — and especially SAS's handling of the complaint — has seriously damaged my confidence in the information provided by the airline.
Peanuts on floor on cabin- grandson allergy
I was travelling with my family and my 5 year old grandson who has a peanut allergy. We told the flight attendant and an announcement was made at the beginning of the flight that no one should eat peanuts and that they wouldn't be selling them. All good.
When leaving the plane after the flight, however, my daughter-in-law noticed that there were peanuts on the floor around their feet where my grandson had been sitting, and his bag and contents were. Huge panic, cleaning of all bags, shoes, books etc to ensure no contamination.
She told the flight attendants who weren't bothered at all.
Obviously the plane hadn't been cleaned properly. Peanuts are a huge allergen risk so if they are provided/sold on flights, the planes should be cleaned properly inbetween flights.
Not impressed at all, and the response of the crew was lacking - hopefully they would have reacted better if my grandson had suffered anaphylaxis mid flight (can't bear to think about that).....
The Feedback Abyss/Dead Links for Services they tout
I defy anyone to find their customer feedback form. It is buried SO deep in their website, it is effectively nearly impossible to find DESPITE multiple links within theiur website that indicate feedback - which lead to generic webpages that have no feedback forms or logical navigation to feedback.
Then, when they lost our bag, they sent an email with a dead weblink to track it. Even their website where one is supposed to be able to do so....dead link. The most comic aspect is they just recently touted their "SAS partners with Google to improve tracking of missing bags" - I kid you not:
Seems like they're trying to emulate Trump airlines.
★☆☆☆☆ SAS: Where “Full Service Carrier” Means Full Price, Service Optional
★☆☆☆☆ — SAS: Where “Full Service Carrier” Means Full Price, Service Optional
Scandinavian Airlines has cracked a business model even more impressive than Ryanair’s: charge international, full-fare prices while nickel-and-diming you like a budget carrier, except with better PR. My flight redefined “penny-wise, passenger-foolish.”
The Great Soft Drink Heist
One (1) complimentary soda per passenger. Want a second? That’ll be 50 cents — announced over the PA by the captain himself, presumably so it sounds like a safety protocol instead of what it actually is: a coin-operated vending machine at 35,000 feet. Do the math with me: 300 passengers, a beverage cart, and a captain’s announcement designed to squeeze spare change out of people who already paid for an international ticket. This isn’t a cost-saving measure, it’s a rounding error dressed up as policy — the kind of nickel-and-diming that makes budget airlines look classy by comparison.
Cardboard Cuisine
The hot meal arrived in a cardboard tray, which — shockingly — cannot actually get hot without turning into mush. So you get a choice: soggy or cold. I chose disappointed. When I mentioned it to the flight attendant, she confirmed, almost apologetically, that they’d received “many complaints” about it. So this isn’t a one-off kitchen mishap — it’s a known, unfixed problem that management has decided isn’t worth solving. That’s the part that stings: they know, and they’ve priced out caring.
Safety Theater, Starring Your Blanket
But the real masterclass in priorities came during takeoff and landing, when the flight attendant swept through the cabin on a mission of grave importance: confiscating blankets from laps and yanking USB cables out of the seatback monitors. Apparently a fleece blanket is a five-alarm hazard at 10,000 feet. Meanwhile, two rows up, a fellow passenger had his bare feet threaded through the gap between armrest and window like some kind of yoga-instructor-slash-safety-hazard, and not a single crew member batted an eye. So let’s get this straight: unplugged headphone cords, dangerous. Someone’s naked toes hovering near the emergency exit, no problem. If SAS actually cared about cabin safety instead of checking boxes, they might start with the guy treating his foot like a carry-on item.
Bottom line: SAS has found a way to make you feel like you’re being charged extra for the privilege of being disappointed, all while enforcing safety rules with the rigor of a substitute teacher who’s given up. One star, and that’s generous — it’s for the fact that the plane did, technically, land.
Worst web experience!!!
Worst web experience!!!
I had to update my phone number- in order to do that they sent a confirmation code to the old number! NO other option 😒🙄
customer service recommended I delete my account and “start over”. If I can’t log in and changing my password 4 times isn’t helping!!! Thanks sas! Hope your maintenance staff is better than your website developers!!!
SAS knew they didn’t load our luggage…
SAS knew they didn’t load our luggage because of overbooked plane, they didn’t tell us. We waited for our luggage for ages. With our 3 month old daughter. Why didn’t they tell us?
Customer Service is SLOW
I had 2 flights get cancelled which is not necessary a big deal, it happens. The bigger problem was when I called to reschedule, I was on hold waiting for someone for an hour, when they finally answered they got my info and put me back on hold, after half an hour the call dropped. So I called back and waited another hour before someone answered only to get told they "couldn't do anything" because even tho they issued the ticket the plane belonged to someone else so I actually needed to reschedule with them. 2.5 hours of waiting on the phone for them to just point me somewhere else instead of helping. They seriously need to consider implementing callbacks like all other modern companies with longer wait times.
Very bad Customer Service
Extremely disappointing experience with SAS
I was travelling Business Class from Milan to Seoul on a single ticket. My SAS flight from Milan to Copenhagen was delayed by 2.5 hours due to an aircraft change, despite good weather in both Milan and Copenhagen. I consequently missed my connection to Seoul and ultimately arrived around 20 hours late.
What was most disappointing was SAS's handling of the situation. By the time I arrived in Copenhagen, the transfer desk was closed, the SAS customer service line was unavailable outside office hours, and there was no ground handling staff available to deliver my checked baggage. I was essentially left to deal with the entire situation myself, including arriving at my destination without my luggage.
Ironically, it was a Flying Blue Platinum representative - despite this not even being an Air France ticket - who went out of his way to help me and ultimately arranged a confirmed Business Class booking on Korean Air.
The hotel and taxi were eventually arranged by SAS, but the overall disruption handling was extremely poor. As a SkyTeam Elite Plus customer travelling Business Class, I expected a completely different level of service and support.
The fact that another airline's loyalty team provided better assistance with a SAS ticket than SAS itself is frankly embarrassing.
A 2.5-hour delay, a missed connection, arriving around 20 hours late, and being left without my checked baggage is simply unacceptable.
Very disappointing, and certainly not the level of service I expect from SAS as a loyal customer.
Misleading service
Very disappointing handling of a straightforward incident.
During SAS flight SK0916 on 24 April 2026, a member of the cabin crew accidentally threw away my earphones. I immediately tried to recover them, but could not search through all of the waste bags and was asked to stop for hygiene reasons. The crew member told me to submit a claim through the SAS website and said that I would be compensated.
I did exactly that. SAS customer service initially acknowledged in writing that the earphones had been discarded by a crew member. However, after months of correspondence, SAS ultimately refused even a reasonable €100 settlement because no internal report had been registered at the time of travel.
That is particularly frustrating because I was never told that I needed to make a separate report on arrival. I followed the instructions given by the cabin crew. SAS is now making the consequences of its own staff member’s mistake, and its own internal reporting process, my problem.
The financial loss is not enormous, but the lack of accountability and the amount of time required to pursue such a simple claim are very disappointing.
My primary flight was cancelled with…
My primary flight was cancelled with 20h notice while you could read about strikes few days before. SAS proposed new flight two days later with one additional transfer and overnight stay in Oslo while there was many other options way earlier and more convenient.
When I tried to rebooked the proposed trip a call was dropped at 6pm sharp, just when someone’s shift was finished leaving me with no tickets nor information whatsoever.
No service desk at Schiphol Airport and no option to contact airline beyond working hours.
Terrible
Terrible. Cancelled my flight 1 day before. Trying to rebook, was kept being cut out from my conversations with Customer Service agents, until I was told the Customer Service is now closed. Laughable. I'm wasting 2 days of my vacations staying on the hotlines and filling the forms, in the uncertainty when I'll even arrive. And my paid vacations are only getting shorter. This is one of the worst holiday experiences I've ever had. I'd recommend everyone to stay away from SAS.
Young family completely failed by SAS
We travelled from Canada to Europe with our newborn this summer. We needed to update a surname and a birth date before travelling, and SAS could not handle this. Despite us calling multiple times, travelling to the airport to speak with someone, and then finally at check-in, they accidentally split our booking into two. We lost our seats and were split as a family. Here's what happened.
Two months before the flight, we logged in online to update passenger details, but a website error prevented us from doing so. This website error persisted throughout the entire trip and was never fixed.
A month before our flight, we called SAS customer service multiple times and were told conflicting things by each agent:
1. One agent said that we could not change a name or birth date because a connecting flight was operated by WestJet.
2. Another agent said they had sorted it and there was no need to worry.
3. The third said that we needed to go to the airport.
A week before our flight, we went to the airport to try and speak to ground staff and get it sorted in the system. Someone helped us change the name in the booking and said everything was fixed.
On the day of our actual flight, it turns out that we could not check in because they had accidentally made me, the infant child, an unaccompanied minor and split my wife out into a separate booking. They somehow removed our infant from both bookings. This was very stressful as we were about to fly. SAS put the onus on us to prove that we had originally booked together and booked and paid for an infant. If I didn't have that to hand, they would have forced us to pay for a completely new ticket.
It took over an hour at check-in for them to sort this. We could not believe that, after multiple conversations with support agents on the phone confirming this was sorted, and then an in-person conversation at the airport also confirming this was sorted, the state of our booking was in such shambles.
On the return flight, we had similar issues because the bookings were still split, so we had lost our preferred seating, and our seats were separated. At Copenhagen Airport, no one would help us at check-in, and they palmed us off from the check-in counter to the support counter to the floor manager. They said we had to go to the gate and sort it out there. It felt like we were just being passed along. Thankfully, at the gate, someone was able to update our seats and place us together, but that was wholly dependent on us getting to the gate early and seat availability.
We knew that on the next leg we'd have the same issue, and we were seated on separate rows. Because it was a connecting flight, we wouldn't have the time to go to the gate early and fix it. This was stressful.
When we landed in Toronto, we had three hours to make our connecting flight. SAS had not told us at check-in that we needed to pick up our checked luggage and recheck it. The checked luggage took over an hour and a half to arrive, delaying the entire flight's passengers. As a result, we missed our connecting flight out of Toronto, despite having had ample layover time, because SAS could not deliver the luggage within a reasonable time.
Of course, there was no SAS counter, no one to speak to, and no one in customer support picking up the phone. As a young family, we were completely stranded with little hope of getting home. It was evening, and our baby was crying.
Eventually, we were rebooked onto an Air Canada flight by a ground support agent who did not even work for SAS but took pity on us and messaged someone who worked at SAS, acting as an intermediary to get us rebooked.
After thirty years of flying SAS, that was our last time. I cannot emphasise enough what a shambles the customer service and operations have been. I would strongly advise against flying with this airline at this time. They are clearly suffering very heavily post-bankruptcy and acquisition by Air France. I hope they recover, but in the meantime, I'll fly elsewhere.
I completed payment but did not receive a booking confirmation
I completed payment to book my flight. The money went out of my account but the booking screen got stuck and did not receive a booking confirmation.
The AI customer service bot was no help at all. Now I'm waiting on the customer service call line for the past 15 minutes trying to talk to someone to get my money back.
I would have expected better from an airline this size. If you have the option to, I would recommend choosing a different company to fly with.
The company sells flights with short connections
The company sells flights with short connections but can’t provide this. My flight was August 21st Toronto Warsaw, and connecting was in Copenhagen 1hour and 10min. The passport control line was long and a lot of passengers missed their next flights. The company rebooked the flight but 9 hours later. No food was provided. No help. Any apologies. Never again will I choose SAS airline
