I've been using Avira for ~30 years (you can check by email). Even the "free" Avira is better than many commercial antivirus programs. The only problem is that it's getting very expensive. The company could be more "flexible" towards loyal users

Cannot access passwords since 3 and customer support is not reachable via phone (line hangs up automatically). Chat cannot help, emails super slow. Extremely unprofessional and incompetent. DO NOT CHOSE THEM there are other options!

First used Avira 10 years ago and used it on and off since. Used Avast until recently but was too intrusive and bloated. The free Avira edition is good for its clear and very usable GUI, and does the job for me. The quarantine should include the option to delete or restore, if you know the item is a false positive. I use it with Evorim Free Firewall for extra protection.

I installed this on my main computer and my phone, and it pretty much runs quietly in the background. The PC cleaner tool is actually quite handy for clearing out old files. Honestly, it provides peace of mind without needing constant attention.
