Spusu Wi-Fi Calling is fundamentally unreliable for iPhone users. Spusu does not appear to have the same level of Apple carrier integration as many other UK networks, and iPhones can fall back to a generic carrier configuration. The result is a long-running problem where Wi-Fi Calling can switch itself off or behave unreliably.
My own experience has been very poor. Since moving to Spusu in March, Wi-Fi Calling on my iPhone 15 Pro regularly disables itself and has to be manually turned back on. Even when it appears to be connected, I have had calls where the other person cannot hear me.
This is not a problem with my phone or home network. I previously used O2 and Vodafone without this issue. I now also have a Giffgaff eSIM on the same iPhone, using the same Wi-Fi network, and Wi-Fi Calling works reliably. I even cancelled my original Spusu account and opened a new one, but the problem continued.
What makes this particularly disappointing is that this is not a new problem. Spusu users were reporting the same issue in 2024, and Spusu reportedly said at the time that it was a known issue and that its engineers were working with Apple. Nearly two years later, it is still happening.
If you rely on Wi-Fi Calling to compensate for poor mobile coverage at home, work or anywhere else you spend a lot of time, I would not recommend choosing Spusu.
My mobile contract was with one of the larger networks that was subject of annual increases. I regulary received messages saying I was getting near my monthly data limit. Contacted my provider and agreed a new contract.
Fortunately, I entered the deal details into an webpage AI service, and it said it was a poor deal and I should cancel it and listed 5 cheaper mobile providers.
I accepted its advice and picked SPUSU UK. What a breath of freash air, have a new monthly rolling contract with no annual increases. A fantastic deal of 40GB with 10GB EU roaming free calls and SMS and 500 minutes of EU calls and 500 SMS.
Because of issues with my termination of my previous mobile provider, I have had to call their Customer Support telephone line 3 times. Great to speak to a UK call service that answers within about a minute and is extremely friendly and helpful.
Never heard of SPUSU UK before the webpage AI service presented them, and I am extremely grateful it did. Both myself and my wife have now switched to SPUSU UK.
I tried to buy bus tickets and use shopping apps in various locations within Newcastle City Centre but the coverage today has been practically non-existent. Time to look for a new and more reliable provider.
Changed to Spusu from EE half the price fast speeds and fantastic customer service I can’t fault them . Been with them 13 months now
Unbelievable customer support. Automatically changed my tariff price down when they spotted I was slightly overpaying. And then also put through my data amount change rapidly, when I requested to go from from 40gb to 5gb.
I've also never had a problem with data coverage at all.
Awesome support, so good I felt I had to leave a review !
changed to Spusu as last providers signal was dire ...
first week or so ok ..then -No Service- Emergency calls only- ???? get around 5 mins an hour with any kind of signal...then Nothing...expecting important calls and just cant rely on spusu to provide a decent signal
so switching again to another provider :(
sometimes you get what you pay for !

Very poor customer service - Zero response
I ordered a new SIM card online and didn’t deliver after four working days. I tried contacting the SPUSU customer service on their provided phone number, WhatsApp chat and by email. No one answered the phone call, no reply to WhatsApp message, no reply to the email.
Not recommend to anyone

Failed again; this has now happened multiple times to dispatch SIM, even after a request to send by tracked mail. OFCOM general condition C5 was ignored by staff. This company simply is not capable of operating at the minimum level legally required Edit after multiple failures to dispatch the simcard and the absolute refusal to dispatch the simcard in complience with OFCOM conditions evern after OFCOM got involved, I have cancelled the contract and when they didn't process the refund of the money already spent I got my bank to claim it back. Under no circumstances should anyone use this company

I spoke to Alex today who was extremely helpful with regards to updating payment details for both my self and my husband. He was extremely patient while things were sorted including while we had an interruption to the internet connection. We managed to resolve the issue with his help. Thank you
As a customer for the past year, I have observed a price increase. Upon contacting customer service to inquire about the absence of renewal or price change notifications, I encountered a very bad and unprofessional experience. Consequently, I cannot recommend their services.

I had an issue with my esim. Called customer services and spoke to Luke. He was very friendly and helpful. We troubleshooted a few things and he kept calling back to check it had worked. In the end, we concluded it was my phone at fault, not my Spusu Esim.
I was really impressed with how Luke stuck with me and tried everything to resolve the issue.
Had a problem with getting access to internet via mobile data. The agent I spoke to new exactly what to do and talked me through correcting the problem. So helpful and no hanging around for ages waiting to speak to someone. Brilliant.
I found the deal on SIM only via the Martin Lewis website and bought the eSIM with the help of Margaret in customer service, who could not have been more helpful or friendly. She navigated me through the purchase and setting the date to port over my number and it was all done in a matter of minutes! The other great thing about this company is that you can speak to a person and their lines are open until 8pm. Perfect!😊👏🏻
I've found Spusu to be not only a fantastic service but the customer service to be one that I'm sad to temporary leave, I will be back though, massive thanks for the service.
All the best, cheers guys, nice work !
Anthony.
I was attracted to Spusu primarily for the coverage and reception using EE's network as an equal user. My previous supplier piggy backed on Vodaphone but as a lesser priority which meant delays and poor response. the other reason is the very low price. We are not heavy data on the move users so can go on the lowest tariff. I moved across first to ensure all is as promised - it was, reception and availability is as good as we had when on EE a while ago. Then I moved my wife across and am currently moving my daughter over.
Today I phoned to consolidate my wife's account into mine. This has to be done over the phone or email. The spusu man was extremely patient with my dithering and search for the required information. He moved her across very quickly and even managed to move her to the same lower tariff as myself. So, I am very pleased.
Inconvinient service. You can't do basic operations like change the plan in the app, you have to contact customer support for every single action! Customer suport is ok, but it always takes way more time! Not convinient at all! Missed a payment in a monthly rolling plan, other providers would just wait for the payment, but supsu blocked my card complitelly, and to unblock it after the payment, again, customer support. This is unnecessarily difficult.
