Willoughby Branch has too few staff to…
Willoughby Branch has too few staff to serve the customers. Staff are fine if you can actually get one. You can spend 45 minutes in the Branch and never get served. Suggest everyone tries another bank until Comm decides to actually `spend money on staff. Its a shambles.

Had a cheque to deposit, unfortunately the machine wouldn’t accept it despite attempting 3 times so had to line up for a teller. By the time l did so the queue had gotten longer and it was right on lunchtime so only one teller was at counter.
Sharon was polite with every customer, a few before me were not so familiar with online banking but she was patient and gave customers as much time as possible.
She never seemed flustered by the amount of customers waiting, didn’t complain about being busy.
Thank you Sharon for giving good customer service 👏👏👏👏👏

Tina from Noarlunga Colonnades branch…
Tina from Noarlunga Colonnades branch was excellent in helping me today with my locked account because I had forgotten my password and then my frozen visa card because I had selected dispute a charge and the realized that it was a legitimate charge (I had signed up for one of those first month for free then they charge your credit card after that). Tina got it undisputed and unfrozen. Then she looked into my Home loan and found there was an offer from the bank for a lower rate that would save us an extra 0.95% and was able to accept it for us right then so now we pay less interest!!!! (And I had been thinking about changing loans as I felt the interest rate was a bit high). She explained that our mortgage broker should have been looking into that for us every year, but since they seem to have abandoned us we can phone the bank and enquire once a year to see if there is a better rate on offer. I was so impressed with Tina and so thankful she was there to help me today. She certainly knows her job and does it exceptionally well as she went above and beyond. I had to reach out with a complement to Tina today as I am one very chuffed customer :D
Commbank Plumpton
Commbank Plumpton: ATM deposit out of service on Monday morning, tried in the evening, same issue. Came back Tuesday midday, same issue. Two deposit ATMs, both down and no notification to customers so they can go elsewhere. This was an easier branch to go to with regards to parking and access for locals.
Joined the queue to do teller deposit, just one teller, long queue, what a disappointment.

There is nothing like good old customer service (with a smile) to restore ones faith in humanity.
I tried for hours to get needed information from the Netbank web site and was at the point of total frustration.
The 54 Km round trip to our local branch at EDEN, NSW was well worth the effort.
I was greeted at the counter by "Jenelle" (hope the spelling is right) , and she patiently and cheerfully navigated through my admin problem and was able to produce the reports I needed to satisfy my SMSF auditor.
Congratulations to the EDEN branch team. Customer service plus!

Where do i start
Where do i start. A bank that can not employ staff that can do basic math.
I Applied for a bridging loan to buy a new house. Somewhere along the lines the bank had miss calculated by over $100.000 and I was told that was correct and I was wrong after some basic math the banker realised and apologised.
No today on settlement day the bank has decided they need my wife's signature to release the property I'm selling My partner is not even on the mortgage of that property. So how can my partner discharge a property she doesn't own.
And then at 14:00 on the day of settlement we get another call paperwork is missing.
Most unprofessional bank I have ever worked with if I could pull out i would.
I WILL BE LOOKING TO MOVE MY HOME LOAN SOON.
interior grade service from the bank
I wish I could give this bank service rating a -10 (minus ten). They overcharged me on my credit card. The staff keep repeating themselves, providing incorrect info, just copying the incorrect statement figure, and closing the case without explanation, and the figure remains unremoved.
Pathetic company with pathetic service
Pathetic company with pathetic service, one star is a huge compliment for this trash.
Customer last priority...
Standing in line to get cash out at teller. ATMs have longer line. I'm up and the second teller walks away. First teller is deep into conversation. That customer has a CBA statement out and they are reviewing. As I leave to catch the bus on time without cash, I see my teller talking with another CBA employee. Tuggeranong, ACT - What a joke?
AI used to block horrendously and silly test ID failure
I am taking CBA to AFCA (Ombudsman) , and then if needed to Courts. Enough is enough. Don’t waste time on Complaints - they didn’t answer my specific queries but only loaded it with Corporate spiel. 36 yrs loyal banking with no other accounts, and I had it from them - well and truly. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the flavour of the month, loyalty, old customers, are lumped with scammers and fraudsters, and all my seven acct accts were blocked at a crucial time putting my life at risk while at an airport, by a guy named (name withheld) from CBA Digital Fraud. That included my air ticket, as he didn’t know what Trip.com was, and had to ask me. But, had blocked my departing air ticket. I was overseas with no funds and I was forced to wait five days in airport for a PROPER ID. 6 days later just 2 questions and 3 questions from Fraud and Digital Fraud respectively, I was cleared…… easy ! 36 years and 100s correct ID and never failed one. This person was inebriated - sleepless, sick, fatigued or too much Christmas party cheer in mid December. In the previous 36 hrs, two live IDs one at Hobart city branch, and also by Digital Fraud clearance when in transit overseas ,10 hrs later from Hobart.
The person (name withheld) never questioned me with a view to ID me, rather to dump me. I was virtually a suspect handcuffed, vulnerable and about to be thrown into the paddy wagon. First, was the stupidest question – ever heard – what is the name of the staff member who served me at Hobart. Who ever cares ? Got the remittance done a few minutes before the flight, and had a million TO DO things in the next 48 hrs., overseas. The second question was, have I met the person overseas I remit – does that men that each time some one does an International Money Transfer (IMT) that you have to take a flight overseas first, meet in person and , then send your money ? Where he totally failed was there was no follow-on question the way his own Digital Fraud colleague did 12 hrs before – e.g. how do you know this Company?, and there I was 100% cleared at flight transit point. Untrained, incompetent, unprepared, bull headed, upstart, AI tunnel visioned person, who has done nothing for 10 months since mid 2025 to take care of stranded regular customers making IMTs who underwent harrowing experiences , no transition information, no proper access info from overseas, no avenues for pre-approval on IMTs, other than making Kamikaze attacks on them. Not even their own CBA customer staff knew about the existence of Fraud and Digital Fraud. It took me 6 days in August 2025 to find them via CBA call centres, that too by accident.
My losses were extreme, both financial and psychological. CBA offered me $500 consolation for the hundreds of thousands I lost. So, anyone of you who suffered from AI attacks, account blocks, lack of access and procedure , horrendous interrogations, lack of information but still with CBA, may please contact me nimalliy(at)gmail.com to join in my venture.
CBA Travel Card - Awesome customer experience
Just before an overseas trip I chose to visit CBA to get a Travel Card. The lady welcoming customers at the Parramatta Westfield's Shopping Center branch was pleasant, professional and efficient. She checked me in in no time at all, explained the product to me, walked me over to Patrick who issued me with 2 Travel Cards, helped me set them up and took me over to the lady teller who loaded overseas currency on my Travel Card. The whole experience was very professional, efficient and smooth as. Really great experience !!! Awesome customer service!!!
No customer loyalty
I have been a loyal customer with commonwealth bank since high school (Im 42 now), have had almost all my house loans, and personal loans with commonwealth. I recently spoke to the mortgage people about refinancing my loan as my fixed rate was up. My loan is approx 500k, my house valuation around $1.35m. I make 230k+ per year gross. No bad credit history. YET the bank was unable to offer new fixed rate terms that were competitive with other offers and banks. The lowest they offered fir 3 year was 6.2% (after their so called special discount). They were not even willing to negotiate. Its an absolute disgrace that the bank is willing to lose me as a customer and the 100s of thousands of dollars in interest my loan would make the bank over full loan term for the sake of .2% interest rate more. I will never ever again use commonwealth for loans, and will be advising others around me of my experience.
Fees fees fees
I am absolutely sick of paying endless fees to Commonwealth Bank. It feels like every time I open my app, there is another charge just for holding or moving my own money. In a time when cost of living is already so high, you’d think a major bank would show some loyalty to its customers instead of nickel-and-diming them at every turn.
The customer service doesn't justify the cost, and there are plenty of other banks out there now that offer fee-free banking. I’ve been a customer, but the constant stream of account fees, transaction fees, and hidden charges is the final straw. I will be moving my money to a bank that actually values its customers instead of treating them like an ATM. Avoid if you hate paying useless fees.
Easily the worst bank service
Easily the worst bank service. The wait times are extremely large, the staff direct you through so many hoops. The fees are unjustifiable, the interest rates are bad on both home loans and savings accounts, the terms are long, confusing, and villainous.
There is seriously no reason to use this bank unless your aim is to get scammed. I made the mistake of being with them for 20 years only to find this out myself. Just simply search for other bank offerings and find out for yourself.
Just answer the question!
So I went into the bank to apply for a credit card and on my first application I messed up some info and it was auto-declined, I was told by the friendly staff it may effect my future credit rating and to call 13 2221 to see if I can get it annulled. He had me fill out most of a new form just so I hade it ready to submit.
I came home and called the number, after half an hour I was passed around to half a dozen people before being shoved onto the Ceba text chat and guided to a human.
This human has sent 5 messages over the course of an hour NONE of them, not a single one answers clearly.
1. Will the auto-declined application impact my credit rating.
2. Is there anyway for them to remove it or nullify the impact.
They are far more interested in having me complete the open application which might not even get approved which would be 2 strikes against me not just 1. I'm happy to take one hit because I was declined on accurate information but I will not take 2 because one of them was a mistake.
A disgusting way to treat customers
CBA appear to have a customer support process specifically designed to make people leave the bank. I haven't written any complaint about a business for years, until now. CBA have a chatbot called CEBA...to say it is useless, is being generous; it is of zero use while also preventing any real contact with the bank. My attempt to call the bank is no better...they just don't care. AVOID joining CBA at all cost.
