Etsy in Europe is a complete trash. Lazy, greedy and stupid company. Let me explain.
1. Their shipping platform is non existing. They process shipping to other countries, like the US, but they have no agreed track to do so. Now, as of July 2026 all non commercial shipping to the US from EU is blocked. Yet they allow this types of transactions.
2. Customer service is a joke. Someone bought an item, they made 2 low resolution photos of imaginary "problems". Etsy jumps in without asking my side and fully refunds!!! Why??? It is not broken, the buyer is imagining problems that are not there, nothing is wrong. Why stealing money from sellers??? Why not ask for more proves and actual good quality photos that can show the "problem"???
Before I had several unauthorized charges from Etsy for the item that some other buyer said was not "as expected". Despite long communication, Etsy went in and charged me full cost for the item already delivered few months ago to the customer. I thought my bank card was stolen!!! Thieves!!!!
3. Feedback systems is even more trashy than on eBay. Basically buyer can leave any idiotic message without any restrictions and no limits. Etsy is good with it. No way for a seller to leave comment or reply. And now they made all feedbacks permanent, from the day 1 of the account. Meaning thousands accounts dropped in their performance. Why doing this??? All that while sellers do not even have a feedback option, so all buyers are 5 stars forever, regardless how many scams they pulled...
4. Fees and regulations. Going insane!!! Prices goes up every time, seller protection is zero. What fees are for??? Now they demand sellers' current photos and ID pictures... Really?
I am sure with the security and privacy of Etsy website we have no worries about our security.
As a result I am closing 10 years old account permanently.

Very bad, you will never get the item you ordered. Don’t use this if you are planning to gift this to you special ones on their birthday

I am afraid I will not be ordering anything from Etsy any longer. I ordered three plants from three sellers and they all
Said delivered and I did not receive them. So far after escalating to Etsy they refunded the first two. I have cameras on my property and can prove I did not receive them. Very strange. Too much of a hassle. They should screen their sellers better.

Again i received glasses from Etsy i ordered.

Also this item is rubbish. A cheap piece of plastic that does not look at the example on internet i bought

Avoid doing business with this kind of maffia organisations. If you try to return the item it is impossible.

I just purchased a very beautiful lab created Alexandrite ring from ZKGEMSJEWELLERY. The Seller’s shop has very beautiful designs and lovely jewellery and I am so happy with my lovely ring. The Seller’s shop is located in India and I placed my order on 9 July and received the delivery of my ring today on 22 July via Royal Mail well within the anticipated delivery timeframe of 31 July! I recommend this Seller and his shop to everyone who adores fine jewellery at a great price!!

Etsy used to be about artisans and the things they create. It has become a drop shipping garbage dump. With shops that do it and then close down so there is no recourse. It is not worth shopping on Etsy anymore.

Doesn't protect the buyer. I purchased something that turned out to be defective
Seller refused an exchange or refund and Etsy did nothing to resolve the issue.

I think we have to be careful buying stuff from here because I ordered some things which is expensive from this website and I have also contact with the company who is sending with the shipping. This is the worst communication with them because I get a leather from my mail it says that they already deliver my stuff and I have also all warning and camera all over our place. No one have been here. They said that they already delivered. I don’t know what to do. Be careful to get cheated from this Easty and all others who work with them. 🤨😟

Paid extra for a personalised item with a guaranteed delivery date for a birthday gift. It arrived four days after the event, and the name spelling I'd specified in the order notes was wrong. Reaching the seller directly is the only real support option on here, and once they weren't responding messages to Etsy support itself just got auto-replies pointing back to the seller. Got a partial refund eventually but the gift itself was already ruined for the occasion it was meant for.

Would give a 0 if possible. Customer service is shocking. Payment system is horrendous. Banning accounts without reason. Banning accounts without warning. Bullying tactics. Holds on payments (I was selling for 2months, I’m owed £1500 and have since only been paid £100). The fact they are the biggest marketplace is worrying, something needs to be done as it’s incredibly harmful, especially psychologically. I was banned for something I wasn’t aware of, I had an IP claim against me, though when I checked Etsy, there are thousands of products others are selling with the same thing I got suspended for. What’s worse is that they ban you, not the account.
I will never be able to sell anything ever again on Etsy. I took so much time and effort building my brand to have it dashed in a second. Etsy advertising my items as well as everyone else’s so they should’ve been aware of what was happening. To ban a person for life is shocking, feels like I’ve been given a criminal record. Horrible company. I seriously hope the company go bust.

Tried many times to contact their customer support. All their support is outsourced to India, so good luck trying to get anything sorted and don’t get me started on the online agent helpline, they ended the chat on me twice because they didn’t know how to help.

All my work was 100% original, I designed and created everything. I’d say I’d never use the site again, but seeing as they have banned me not my account, I can’t anyway. Shocking!

Awful! Customer Service with Gift Cards. I always order gift cards for our staff in advance each month. I made an honest mistake but Etsy refused to let either cancel the gift card or edit it. So now I am sending next weekend a gift card to the wrong person because Etsy refused to allow to edit a gift card order that has not been sent yet. Very disappointing. I am looking at other website that deliver better service.

Terrible unethical company that bullies its sellers. Awful people. Awful horrible people. Hope this is the end of Etsy and that all creators and artists go elsewhere.

Unique items, great gift

I ordered a pattern from Etsy over a week ago. I am not technically minded and asked for the (dolls) pattern to be emailed to me!
I was told by the seller when I give a good review she will send that on!
I got help and managed to print out my pattern.
I strongly recommend people to stay clear of this website…. Nothing but hassle 😤

This was the first and last time, I will order anything from Etsy. The seller was Testaments in Stone. The materials listed were wood, linen and clay. Received the framed items without wire for hanging so went to local framer. Apropos of nothing, he told me the frames were plastic. When I appealed to Etsy showing the materials listed, Etsy did nothing. Never again!

I designed an STL several years ago and uploaded it with a Creative Commons License. I find out today from someone else that a seller on Etsy has stolen my STL including the images of my model which shows MY HAND! Claiming it is his design and he has full rights to it! I had to create an account on Etsy as I wasn't able to report it without one... upload all my personal details and submit a complaint. Etsy then tells me they rejected my claim as submitting a claim is a serious matter for everyone involved! Basically telling me tough luck and to ask the seller to take it off. Never even used Etsy and they forced me to sign up, take my personal details and then tell me they won't do anything. Disgusting!

Etsy was selling counterfeit Areds2 supplements it was investigated and confirmed by Bausch & Lomb. I bought the supplement which seemed suspicious to me and sent it to Bausch for investigation it was confirmed in hard copy letter to me it was not original from Bausch & Lomb. Etsy didn’t want yo refund the money and used all possible tricks to hide this fraud. I communicated with Etsy many times -it’s very unprofessional non compliance incompetent and a waste of my time. If asked I would never accuse buying supplements on Etsy

the Archangel I bought was not what I expected how the image was present. For me the archangel was all plastic that customer has to glue and glue . For the price it was unaceptable. I will not buy anything with this company.

I was really looking forward to this purchase, but it just didn’t live up to my expectations. The shirt I received was a different color than what was displayed online, and the fabric felt cheaper than described. On top of that, it took almost two weeks to arrive, which was frustrating. I reached out for updates and didn’t get a timely response, so communication could definitely use improvement. I had high hopes, but this experience left me feeling let down. I doubt I’ll order again unless some changes are made.
