Very unpleasantly surprised by the quality of the book’s finish.
In fact, it has gluing and binding defects on the cover, not to mention that the spine was not customized to match the book’s title and now reads “TITLE. YEAR,” just like a blank book. It was very difficult to see that this field was expandable on your mobile version of the website. It’s surprising that your printing team didn’t warn us about this. It’s also surprising to see the difference in the spelling of the “É” in the title compared to the rest of the word. It’s completely unattractive.
The finish is absolutely not worthy of an item priced at €80! The quality is exactly the same as a photo book from mass-market websites and is nothing like the high-end product the advertising led us to believe it would be.

The gluing and binding defects on the cover are not acceptable. Every album is guaranteed: at the slightest defect we reprint it entirely at our own cost, with nothing to send back to us.
The difference in how the accented E was rendered in the title is a real problem on our end, and your feedback helps us flag it to our printing partner.
On the spine, you are right that the field to customize it was far too hard to spot as expandable, especially on mobile. That is an editor issue for us to fix, not something you did wrong.
Write to us at lisa@souvence.com with your order number and a few photos of the cover and spine, and I will personally take care of relaunching a new copy for you.

I really love the album and also think the overall design and implementation turned out beautifully. In some places, the binding in the middle wasn’t processed completely cleanly, but it’s barely noticeable.
It would be great if, during the design process, you could tap on the background of the selected page and adjust it individually. This didn’t work for me, and the platform more or less determined the background automatically.
I also found it a bit disappointing that all the emojis on a particular page were deleted as soon as I removed just one of them. This made the editing process quite tedious and time-consuming.
Overall, I’m very happy with the result and definitely feel that it was worth it! I would certainly order again.

On the binding, you are right that the center should stay perfectly clean every time. I am passing this to our print partner so they keep a close eye on it.
For the page backgrounds, being able to tap and set each one individually is a fair ask. Right now the editor picks it more automatically, and making that fully manual is exactly the kind of control we want to add.
And the emojis disappearing when you remove just one is a real bug on our side, not something you did wrong. Thank you for flagging it, it truly helps us improve the editing flow.

Don’t sign up for emails
Been getting spammed with emails after starting a book regarding my Benidorm holiday and I haven’t yet finished it. The emails I am being sent are making me feel guilty and it’s like a guilt trip to finish it and then pay for it when all I did was find an ad on TikTok and thought it would be fun to try, but the website wouldn’t let me edit the book at all so I gave up on it.

The real issue here is the editor. If you couldn't edit your book at all, that's a bug on our side, not something you did wrong. Write to us at lisa@souvence.com with the email address you used, and we'll get your Benidorm project working again, it's very likely still saved.
On the emails, they're meant as a helpful reminder that your project is waiting for you, never as pressure. There's an unsubscribe link at the bottom of every one, and I'll make sure our reminder sequence stays lighter.

You're right, and it's a fair point. Photos that stretch across two pages lose part of the middle in the binding, and the editor should warn you about that clearly while you're designing. We're going to make that much more visible !
