I LOVE this device

I LOVE this device. I have the chain blind, cordless version. It holds a charge a very long time. It connects to my Alexa for voice commands and I can schedule when they open/close.

You should be aware that they aren’t silent. It doesn’t bother me but the motor and chain does make some noise when they move. Overall, I recommend. Love waking up to the sun and my evening privacy!

HORRIBLE customer experience!

I have tried to contact anyone via online chat with no one answering – I’m astonished by the terrible customer support I received on my latest order.

I’ve been a very long time supporter of the company and products being one of the first to own the original Axis unit, and even participated in the pilot/beta “button” program!

I accidentally hit purchase (after Shop somehow auto populated all my information?). I immediately contacted customer support via email and chat to no success to cancel the order. I tried all day to talk to someone to stop the order from being shipped. I don’t live at the address the item is being shipped to, as it's in the USA and I live in Canada. I finally heard from "Katleeya" who was provided no help and terrible one line reply. The item didn't ship until 2 days after ordering it - the order could have easily been canceled by Rise.

After this horrible customer experience I will not be purchasing from Ryse anymore unfortunately. I really enjoy the RYSE blinds, and Home Hub product, but I can't support a company that doesn't support its customers properly. :(

If I could post zero I would

If I could post zero I would. I have big shades, 103" tall. The battery is not strong enough to pull the shades up. Only makes it about 1/4 of the way. I had purchased 6 of them, was unable to return the unopened boxes becaseu - past the return window??? poor customer service, poor performance. Do not buy. Maybe the ones that go into the tube are better. not sure. But these are a POS. bought on hello ryse

Seamless installation, very quiet

The installation is super easy, the product looks nice and sturdy. I loved that I can set the bottom and the top of the window, so that the shades can go all the way up and down without the need to hold the button. I also like the duration of the battery and how silently it raises a very large blackout shade.

Could be 5 star

A little larger than it appears on the site. Would give it 5 stars if you could make schedules via the app instead of having to buy the hub.

Remote did not come with product

Was excited about the product. But did not come with the remote shown in the marketing. Was told it was extra by AI bot. And the remote is out of stock. The app would not function for me.

Beyond dissatisfied customer

This beyond dissatisfied customer has flushed >$600 trying this product, getting unacceptable results and being denied a refund d/t missing the 30-day return window because of medical crises.I understand the reason for policies, but it baffles me that RYSE won’t show a little goodwill to a customer who has explained the extenuating circumstances. If you like the curtain openers product, ive got 3 sets - I’ll give you a good price.

Smartbridge is challenging to setup.

I received quick notification of delivery, but discovered all that was done was to print the label. Actual delivery was one week later. The smart bridge itself is extremely difficult to setup. I had to reset the bridge 5 times along with multiple setup challenges. This difficulty is well documented on forums. There just has to be an easier way to set it up.

Easy to install and works flawlessly

The smartshade was easy to install with the help of detailed instructions and video. It appears well constructed and has worked flawlessly. I have several routines set up to automatically open after sunrise, partially close in the afternoon sun and close the shade at sunset.

Setup of the smartbridge and pairing was a little tricky. It took 3 tries to do successfully.

I only have one complaint - about the smartbridge. It only works with Samsung Smartthings if you add a $50 z-wave adapter. I use an Aeotec hub which also supports wifi and zigbee but the Ryse smartbridge won't work natively with those protocols. I have a number of other devices where I manage all of them from smartthings.

Since I'm installing 3 Ryse smartshades I did not want to spend an additional $100. That's too bad. I think Ryse is missing out on a competitive edge and making it less convenient for me. Other shade manufacturers fully integrate with smartthings.
