Dear follow credit card seekers.
Do not do business with this credit card company. They are scammers, loan sharks and the worst credit card company to have or deal with.
I had a account with them for year. I maintain my account. Until I became permanently disabled due to a life threatening condition.
I contacted them, as soon as. I became hospitalized. And told them. The reason, why I fell behind on my account. Is because I laying in the hospital recovering. This credit card company repeatedly called me 9 or more times a day at all hours. They harass me with repeated phone calls. Even though. I spoke with them and explained . I'm recovering in the hospital and became disabled.
On my account I was paying a credit card insurance monthly. In the event I lost my job, national disaster or become permanently disabled.
This credit card charges high yearly fees to hold this credit account. They charge high interest rate on balance. Which makes you never able to pay down your balance.
This credit card took my insurance pay out and then charged off my account. Then reported it in my credit file. After they were paid off. Then they sold my account to debit collector. That instead of notifying me. Went to the court house and filed a lawsuit. Even though the account was paid by my credit card insurance this credit card company offered.

Two months in a row now I have been unable to login to my account online. The security check sends me a code that never comes. I was told they were having issues and I paid by phone. Now it is happening again. I was given the same BS about "issues". I will be paying off this account as soon as possible and closing this account. I have no way of looking at what is going on in my own account! I almost feel like they do this sort of thing to deliberately make people late paying. I'm DONE.

I recently discovered that Merrick Bank had an open credit card account listed on my credit report, despite the fact that I never applied for or authorized one.

I received a promotional invitation in the mail and threw it away because I wasn't interested. I never submitted an application, accepted an offer, or agreed to open an account.

When I contacted Merrick Bank, they filed a claim but refused to close the account until their investigation was completed. I find this extremely concerning. An account I never authorized is being reported under my name, and I'm now responsible for spending my time trying to correct the situation.

I've since filed formal complaints with both the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and the Better Business Bureau.

Merrick Bank needs to explain how this account was opened, provide proof of authorization, and promptly correct any inaccurate credit reporting. Consumers should not have to go through this process for credit cards they never requested.

This experience has seriously damaged my trust in Merrick Bank.

I applied for a Merrick Bank Credit Card and was approved even though my rating was fair. Now it's gone up about 20 points. Thank You Merrick for helping me when I needed it. I've had no problems and I would recommend them . Thanks again

User friendly and hassle free usage and great customer service has not only eased my stress, but given me the opportunity to give a beautiful tribute to my husband through the memorial products I have acquired using my Merrick credit card. Came in very handy. Decent interest rates considering. Paid it off early. Nice to have credit line increased for paying on time.

It was clean, staff, front desk professional and attentive. Great customer service. Friendly, kind, respectful, courteous and polite.

I've been making my payments 19 days ahead of schedule every month without fail and this month i get a text stating i owe an additional 39.61 so i tried to call the customer service line I have been on hold for 45 minutes and am still on hold. this is unacceptable business. noone should have to be on hold waiting for someone to answer the phone this long. not to mention trying to over charge a client who has never missed or been late on their payment
