We're recruiting for a new Construction Health & Safety Advisor 🔨 We're looking for someone who: ✅ Is a self-starter with the initiative and motivation to manage their own workload and be reactive to urgent issues at short notice ✅ Proven experience in developing and delivering practical health and safety solutions ✅ Ability to implement initiatives & procedures in a practical way ✅ Experience of accident investigation, statement taking and report writing ✅ Excellent IT skills ✅ A full driving License You will ideally have: ✅ Minimum of 3 years’ credible experience of health & safety within the construction sector, ideally house building, either working directly for a construction company or for a construction health & safety consultancy ✅ NEBOSH Health & Safety Management for Construction Certificate ✅ NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in Health & Safety. ✅ Membership of IOSH (Tech IOSH) or higher ✅ Excellent working knowledge of CDM, construction practices, and current H&S legislation. 💰 £45k - £50k (subject to experience) 📍 Leicester 🚗 Car allowance For full job description and details on how to apply, please email charlottedoherty@jelson.co.uk

We're taking a look through our archives to celebrate all the wonderful people that have made this possible ✨ In 1889, Jelson Homes began as a local, family-owned housebuilder in Leicestershire. Thanks to the dedication, skill, and hard work of our incredible teams over the decades, we've grown to build communities in all corners of the Midlands and become the trusted and reputable home builder we are today 🏡

Last week, we had the privilege of taking six of our apprentices to the Home Builders Federation (HBF) Skills Reception at Parliament; an inspiring event bringing together industry leaders, and the next generation of talent shaping the future of housebuilding 🏡 For our apprentices, it was a great opportunity to experience first-hand the conversations taking place at the heart of government about skills, training and the future workforce needed to deliver the homes the UK needs. We were proud to be joined by our apprentices: Vinny - Apprentice Groundworker, Fabian - Apprentice Electrician, Joe - Apprentice Joiner, Nathan - Apprentice LGV Mechanic, Mia - Trainee Technical Administrator, and Joe - Trainee Purchase Ledger Clerk. Each of them plays an important role within our teams and represents the future of the housebuilding industry. From developing essential trade skills on site to supporting the delivery of high-quality homes for our communities, their work is a vital part of the wider homebuilding process. Events like this help highlight just how important apprenticeships are in building the skilled workforce our industry relies on. We are committed to supporting apprenticeships and investing in the development of the next generation of skilled professionals who will help shape the future of our industry. We're incredibly proud of their dedication and enthusiasm, and it was fantastic to see them representing the next generation of construction professionals at such an important industry event. A big thank you to the HBF for hosting a great event focused on championing apprenticeships, skills and the future of housebuilding 🔨
