🥾Cala Southern Steps Up for Youth Adventure Trust Five members from our Cala Southern team recently took on the Housebuilder Challenge, a demanding 20-mile hike along the Jurassic Coast alongside colleagues from across the housebuilding industry. The event raises funds for Youth Adventure Trust, a charity that helps young people facing challenges build confidence, resilience and self-belief through outdoor adventure and one-to-one support. Representing Team Southern were Andy Mair, Marika Marciniak, Rebecca Lawton, Rosie Adams and Samantha Alexander. Central Neighbourhood Centre approved at Kings Barton, Winchester ✅ Our development at Kings Barton, Winchester, continues to grow, with our Southern team recently securing planning approval for community facilities at a new Neighbourhood Centre in the heart of the scheme. Additionally, the team has secured approval for 40 new homes, 30 of which will be affordable. The approved plans will deliver a new community building, children’s nursery and 40 high-quality new homes at Kings Barton, forming an important part of the emerging Neighbourhood Centre at Kings Barton. The approval is a significant milestone for the wider Kings Barton community, supporting the creation of a local centre where residents will be able to come together, access facilities and benefit from new public spaces close to home. The community building has been designed as a focal point for local residents, with opportunities for spill-out space. The nursery will provide dedicated indoor and outdoor space for children, with its main entrance linking to the play trail. Alongside the Neighbourhood Centre, the wider development will deliver 2,000 homes, a range of sports pitches and a sports pavilion – both of which are under construction, a park and ride, play areas, allotments and a primary school which is already open. Homes will be equipped with electric vehicle charging points and air source heat pumps helping to reduce carbon emissions. The Cala Southern team is actively seeking to invest in development opportunities with and without planning across Hampshire, Dorset and southern Wiltshire. ⛳️ Cala North Golf Day Raises £2,959.30 for Friends of ANCHOR. Our Cala North team enjoyed a fantastic day on the course as colleagues, partners and industry contacts came together to support Friends of ANCHOR, a charity dedicated to helping cancer and blood disorder patients, their families, and staff at the ANCHOR Unit within Aberdeen Royal Infirmary. Friends of ANCHOR provided invaluable support to our late colleague, BJ, and his family. We're proud to continue supporting the important work they do for people across the North East facing cancer and haematological conditions. Neil Riddell promoted to Managing Director of Cala Homes East Neil joins the East business following a successful period as Construction Director and board member for our West of Scotland business, where he has played a key role in driving operational excellence and delivering high-quality homes for customers. He joined Cala in August 2025 as Construction Director, bringing with him over two decades of construction and operational experience. Cala’s East of Scotland business is well established and operates across Edinburgh, the Lothians, Perth and Kinross, Fife and the Scottish Borders, where we are currently delivering more than 1,600 private homes and 290 affordable homes across 12 developments.   In his new role, Neil’s focus will be on building on these solid foundations by further strengthening operational discipline, driving enhanced performance and ensuring a sustainable, long-term delivery profile.
