I've been using Telegram mainly for chats and channels. It's fast, works well across devices, and file sharing is very convenient.
At the same time, updates often change the interface or add features I don't really need. Some settings feel cluttered, and it's not always intuitive to find basic options. Overall, useful, but sometimes overcomplicated.

The program launches scammer ads
The Telegram launches scammer ads while you're using the app. I was playing Cattea (recently chnged their name to catrix) on Telegram. Cattea is yet another scam game that extorts money from Telegram users with promises of airdrops. But that's another story. So, while playing this scamgame, I stumbled upon an ad that Telegram launched while I was playing. That is, while I was playing, an ad popped up. The ad promoted a successful business in video arbitrage on exchanges. In reality, arbitrage is making money on cryptocurrency price increases. But this wasn't really an ad about arbitrage; it was an ad from scammers who were creating schemes that make it look like arbitrage, but as soon as you buy the coin, the scammers steal your money. Normally, if they had approached me directly or offered this type of "earning" in some other way, I would never have trusted them. But unfortunately, I trusted an ad on Telegram. I trust Telegram ads, thinking that since they were officially launched by Telegram, they'd likely been verified and moderated, and that everything was official, so I could trust them! I clicked on the ad to find out more. Scammers immediately contacted me and started explaining how it works. So, by trusting Telegram ads, I lost $500. I wrote to the Cattea game administration demanding an explanation for why they were promoting scammers and that their ads had led to me becoming a victim of fraud. The Cattea administrator responded that they don't promote scammers, that Telegram is responsible for the advertising, and suggested I contact Telegram. I contacted Telegram support. They said they were sorry about what happened but couldn't help. When I asked why they were promoting scammers, they explained that the ads were launched automatically, that they couldn't verify everyone, and that they only identify scammers and block their ads through victims of scams. So, Telegram first advertises scammers for selling money, promoting their activities, and only if a victim contacts them, they simply remove the ad and that's it! they are not blocking telegram accounts of scammers, don't report them to law enforcement, don't ask for compensation for damages. Nothing! They just remove the ad, and that's it!!! The scammer who scammed me still has an active Telegram account; it hasn't been blocked and continues to operate on Telegram and stealing money. But my long-term demands for compensation resulted in Telegram deciding to reimburse me only $44. Better than nothing. But Telegram decided to make money on me here too. They initially asked me to send a packet of documents, which could take several days to gather, but for some reason they decided to change their mind, deleted the message, and wrote another one asking for my wallet address. I gave them the wallet address, to which they sent $42.50 instead of $44. After that, I wrote on Telegram that the promised 44 didn't arrive, but only 42.5, to which they deleted all correspondence with me and blocked me. Luckily, I saved the correspondence (just in case it comes in handy for law enforcement).
I hope the Ministry of Internal Affairs reads this review and holds the responsible Telegram and their scammer friends accountable. (translated with google translate)
Use FaceTime rather than Telegram
After three hours of intense effort on my part plus a skilled IT person, it proved to be utterly impossible to install Telegram on my iphone. I discovered not only that is the exact opposite of "quick and easy" but also that it is not "free". I was prevented from installing it unless I forked over a hefty monthly fee.

Dear Telegram
Dear Telegram:
Very interesting app, especially with the NFTs and channels.
The reason for my writing today is because there seems to be accounts which are "verified" on your app which unfortunately scam users by the "verified" (blue check mark) account holder. This is problematic because it negates public trust in that blue "check mark" if used as a means of bad faith or evading responsibility by suggesting it's a bot account.
Of course it's always the users responsibility for all decisions and actions. But what about accountability also on the platform's end. For example, the founder never addresses this on his weekly message alerts. One possible way to address this is to highlight what safeguards are being done to address these issues. This not only acknowledges the issue but also updates people of the matter.
Thanks and hope to see improvements.
Worst customer service ever.
Worst customer service ever.
They banned my phone number , with no reason .I have emaild Telegram a thousand times to ask why, & asked them to re instated it, with no reply. To talk to the Russian who owns it, u have to pay him !
WHAT A CON!
Broken account recovery and paid verification
My Telegram account was linked to an email address that is not mine, without my knowledge.
I attempted to reset the account and was told to wait 7 days, which led nowhere. The reset never happened.
During this process, I was forced into a double verification flow that I never enabled and was asked to pay $0.98 just to receive an SMS verification code. I paid the amount, yet I still cannot log in to the application.
On top of that, I receive contradictory system messages saying that no email is registered to the account.
Charging users for verification while locking them out of their accounts is unacceptable. As a result, I uninstalled the app from all devices and requested full removal of my phone number and email from their systems.
This is not a security feature — it’s a broken login and recovery process.
From my point of view, using this application is very risky and unsafe
Telegram is a Criminal’s Hideout
Telegram is a joke. People are always trying to scam me, and I can’t even tell anyone because they always erase the evidence. Even when I do get the evidence beforehand, I contact customer service about it and they never reply. And I bet that scams aren’t the only crimes people would try to erase evidence in. I know this suggestion may sound stupid, but maybe don’t make an app that assists in criminal activity?
The app used to be good
The app used to be good, but not anymore. My account was hacked, and their support is terrible,no one responds . Because of this, I don’t recommend it.
Of course, they seem to care about rich users and celebrities, as they respond to them, but not to ordinary people. The app is terrible, and its security is weak, offering no real protection or solutions.
Urgent: Student account banned (+212 655837084)
I am a student from Morocco. My account (+212 655837084) was suddenly banned by mistake. This account is essential for my education as it contains all my lectures and study groups. I have tried to contact support many times with no response. Please help me restore my account for my studies.
When I joined a group.
When I joined a group.. A few days later I started to get unknown message that wasn't in my contacts list. How do they get my contact info ? Any idea ? I think it has week security maybe ..who knows ..
I used to love, not anymore
I used to love the app until they introduced the premium model, and now I am getting 10 messages per day from spam, and the only way to get rid of them (restrict messages only to my contact) would be to pay for premium. Skrew you, Telegram! I would rather eat my shoe than support your scammy behavior.
Of all the messengers
Of all the messengers, I mainly use Telegram. It loads quickly, and the premium version opens up many more possibilities. I use it not only for communication, but also for reading news or keeping notes in private chats. Sometimes I can even watch a movie or listen to music right in the app. So, I'm happy with everything.
It was better before the liquid glass UI
Still the best for communication.
But I don't like new Liquid glass design
No help from telegram is you are hacked.
I used to have much better opinion about Telegram until my account was hacked by scammers. I spoke to number of specialists during last 5 days and common opinion that Telegram security is dead low.
Two level authentication can be by passed by scammers.
Customer support - non-existent. I sent 4 messages to three different addresses. No reply.
I had to consult my specialists (luckily, I have them available) and it took three days to cancel the account. No interference from Telegram.
I can even say - telegram "security" measures in a way help scammers - they know how to use them against honest customers.
Pathetic!
There are much more reliable messengers on the market!
