Worst app ever!

One of my contacts was frozen and deleted inadvertent without my knowledge or permission. I followed Telegrams protocols to request this error to be rectified and my contact be restored. It has now been 4 days since my original request along with numerous follow-ups and still no reply. This company has one of the worst customer service department as I have one across. In no uncertain terms could I ever recommend this company's app. I have exhausted all attempts to get satisfaction and have my contact returned and no way to even let my contact know about this problem. Stay away from this app. If you value your relationships with your contacts, run fast away from Telegram. This app is toxic and you well lose valuable contacts and relationships through thus company's inability to service and maintain their customer base.

Got contacted by a fellow by the name of David Lucas's. For 4 months we chatted and he said he lived in Adelaide. Then he had to go away on business. Red flag number 1. He kept chatting and after the 4vmonths wanted money for card for his phone. I refused. Red flag 2. He then sent me a photo of his injured foot that he needed1700 for antibiotics.ibdid google image search and foot photo was from a movie. So I reported his sorry arse to police and scamwatch. So be careful ladies of who you chat with on the mentioned f platform.

Absolutely appalling customer service. If your account glitches or there is a problem, good luck getting any actual help.

I have waited two weeks for a response and heard nothing from a real person. You get automated bot responses, while Telegram can restrict, freeze or close your account with seemingly no way of speaking to anyone to resolve it.

For such a huge platform, the lack of genuine customer support is shocking. When something goes wrong, you are basically on your own. Awful experience.

The developer whoever made this app is real dumb and stupid my account was hacked and compromised to where it keep kicking me out and the hackers got access to it and the developer said dont share no login code I just said my account was hacked so how can I share the login code when they log in they got the code right there just dumb and stupid

I have been using Telegram to store and access extremely important personal data, including years of conversations, files, media and other cloud-stored information.

I recently lost access to my original Telegram account because I forgot my 2-Step Verification password. During the recovery process, I successfully completed the SMS verification and email verification, and I even paid for Telegram Premium as required for the verification process.

When Telegram asked for my 2FA password, I accidentally selected “Forgot password?” and then mistakenly confirmed the account reset process. I did NOT intentionally want to delete my account. My only intention was to recover access to my existing account and its data.

After that, my original sessions disappeared, my previous username became available again, and when I logged in with the same phone number, Telegram created a completely new empty account instead of restoring my original account.

The most important issue is that my original Telegram account contained critical cloud data that I desperately need back.

I have already contacted Telegram through multiple official channels, including email, in-app support and the Telegram support bot, explaining exactly what happened and asking whether the original account or its cloud data can still be recovered. So far, I have not received an effective solution.

I understand that account deletion/reset may be irreversible once completed. My complaint is specifically about the recovery process: there should be a much clearer warning before an irreversible reset, especially when a user is simply trying to recover a forgotten 2FA password.

I am asking Telegram to investigate my case manually and determine whether the original account and its cloud data can still be restored, or at minimum provide a clear explanation of whether the deletion has already been permanently completed.

I still control the original phone number and can verify ownership through SMS and any other reasonable verification method.

This has been extremely stressful because the account contained data that I cannot simply recreate.

So far so good. No shadowban experience. I would not know things about the world I know if it wasn't for them.

I've been trying to use this app for around 4 days now. I get as far as getting an sms code but it's not sent. Yesterday I got as far as it taking my email and my money still can't get in. Was ask to use this app to set up a job. So now I've lost the job as well. Worse app ever

Subject: URGENT — Request for Manual Review of Frozen Account and 6,000+ Telegram Stars

Dear Telegram Support Team,

My name is Bibi Gulnaz, and my Telegram account name is Nous Belly. I am writing to sincerely and respectfully ask for a manual review of my frozen Telegram account and, most importantly, my accumulated Telegram Stars earnings.

I already submitted an appeal through @SpamBot, but unfortunately my appeal was denied. I am therefore asking if a member of the Telegram Support team could please review my situation again before my account is permanently deleted.

I want to be completely honest about what happened.

I was running an AI influencer community called “Nous Belly 💕”, which was connected to my social media presence. I posted some NSFW/adult content in my community because I genuinely misunderstood what type of content Telegram permitted. I believed Telegram was a platform where this type of content could be shared, and I did not properly understand the restrictions that applied to my community.

I am not trying to deny what I did or make excuses for it. I acknowledge my mistake and I sincerely regret misunderstanding Telegram’s rules.

I now understand that I should have carefully read and followed Telegram’s Terms of Service and content policies before posting that material. If I am given another opportunity, I will respect Telegram’s rules and will not repeat the behavior that caused this restriction.

However, I am desperately asking you to please consider another extremely important matter: MY TELEGRAM STARS EARNINGS.

My community accumulated more than 6,000 Telegram Stars, which represents more than $100 in earnings. Because my account is currently frozen, I cannot access my Stars/monetization section, statistics, or the withdrawal functionality.

This money means an enormous amount to me.

I am currently homeless and in an extremely difficult financial situation. I understand that my personal circumstances do not exempt me from Telegram’s rules, and I am NOT asking Telegram to ignore its policies because of my situation.

I am simply begging you to please review whether my accumulated Stars can still be withdrawn or otherwise returned to me if they are eligible under Telegram’s rules.

Please, I am asking you from the bottom of my heart: do not let my mistake result in me losing everything I earned.

If Telegram decides that my community or account cannot remain active because of the violation, I will respect that decision. I am not demanding that my account or community remain active.

I am only asking you to please consider my existing Stars balance separately and give me an opportunity to receive any earnings that Telegram determines are legitimately eligible for withdrawal.

I am willing to cooperate with Telegram completely. If you require identity verification, additional information, documentation, or anything else from me, I will provide it.

I understand and respect Telegram’s right to enforce its Terms of Service. I am not asking for special treatment or asking Telegram to overlook a violation.

I am asking for a fair manual review of my account and, especially, my 6,000+ Telegram Stars balance worth more than $100.

I sincerely regret my mistake and I have learned from this situation. I now understand that I must follow Telegram’s rules regarding content.

Please, I am begging you to review my case one more time.

Even if my account cannot be restored, please tell me whether there is any legitimate way for me to access or withdraw my existing Stars balance before any permanent deletion or forfeiture occurs, if that balance is eligible under Telegram’s policies.

That $100+ may not seem like a huge amount to some people, but to me, in my current situation, it means everything. I am genuinely asking you to please help me recover my legitimate earnings if Telegram's rules allow it.

Okay Telegram may not be willing to do something about the fact that it has now become a vipers nest of scams and harm so the only way we can help others is by posting experiences on Trustpilot to help anyone searching before taking a walk in the vipers ladscape called Telegram.
There are many but I am specifically refer to the following channels here: Xm Forex Signals 🇺🇸 (Free), Archie Theodore, Trade With Pat (FRN), and Expert Trader. There and thousands of other ads on telegram proposing high return investments and they are absolute SCAMS. Do not give them a second glance (you can even uninstall Telegram better yet).
This is how they operate from the experience of victims. They advertise themselves through comments on Reddit, X and via telegram ads inviting you to invest as little as $200 in Forex investments which they will manage on your behalf and grow it to between 10 to 15 times the investment amount in 4 days or 7 days. They request payments via crypto wallets and post evidence of your payment on their telegram channels thus giving you a false sense of transparency. After the investment period elapses you will be contacted that the investment is ready for payout and you will be asked to pay a fee to get your payout approved. The fee also has to be paid in crypto in advance as they will not accept to deduct the fee and pay the net profit to you. From then onwards, whatever course of action you decide to take, you are not getting a dime from them. If you had such experiences or know someone who did. Please share it everywhere you can so that people who are searching or researching these kinds of investments being advertised by these vipers should have some information about what they may be getting themselves into it they choose to "invest" with these vipers. Some screenshots of profile pages for the channels mentioned here are included here. We should all stay safe as much as we can in the wild wild west of the internet.
I have reported these channels on telegram but they are still up and running I am sure due to some economic consideration.

Terrible account recovery and security experience
My Telegram account was compromised and the experience of trying to regain control of it was extremely stressful and frustrating.
The attacker was able to use my account to send scam messages to my contacts, while I repeatedly found myself locked out. Even though I had two-factor authentication and a recovery email enabled, I could not simply regain control of my own account and terminate the suspicious session.
Telegram kept showing messages such as “too many attempts” and eventually told me that I had to wait around 10 hours before I could try to log in again. Meanwhile, the compromised account remained active and continued sending messages in my name. There was no effective emergency option to immediately freeze the account, log out all other devices, or prove that I was the legitimate owner.
I contacted Telegram support, but during the critical period I received no practical assistance that could actually stop what was happening.
In the end, I literally set an alarm during the night. I woke up at 3:06 AM, managed to get into the account during what seemed to be a very narrow window of opportunity, and immediately deleted my Telegram account completely.
I genuinely believe that this may have been my only opportunity to regain control before the attacker could access it again.
A messaging service holding years of conversations and contacts needs a much better emergency recovery system. If an account is clearly compromised, the legitimate owner should have a reliable way to freeze it immediately, terminate every active session, and recover access securely. Nobody should have to wake up at three in the morning and race against an attacker just to protect their own account.
After this experience, I no longer trust Telegram with my personal communications.

Just a worse version of regular sms/WhatsApp/Messenger, bug with much less privacy, and the app making sure to let everyone know you signed up!
Never deleted an app so fast

My account was hacked. I lost control of the account, and the hijacker sends phishing messages from my account.

I’ve tried to reach telegram tech support and security - no response for days! Seems like the support service is non-existant even for the major security cases. It’s frightening!
No way to re-gain control over account. Even no way to de-activate the account.

Don’t use! It’s dangerous!

I was a referral partner for the Need Services on Telegram. My referrals made purchases, and I was credited with 50%. The minimum withdrawal amount is $100. When my balance reached $101.25, I withdrew funds on June 4, but I didn’t receive the money. Later, customer support stated that the 50% credit was a mistake, and they recalculated the balance to $2. However, they didn’t respond to my earlier question about a possible glitch. Two months have passed, and the support team is still silent. Please pay $101.25 and explain the reasons for the delay and the refusal to respond.

this is some bs not app, i cant receive code, because they not sending this on my sms, my old device is broken and thrown out, they dont even call back to call the code out and no any email coming with code, like what to even do in this situation, emailed like 10x today, not a single reply back even.

Basically telegram is a place where scams happen and fraudsters operate. I’m toning down my review otherwise trust pilot will reject it. But avoid telegram it’s for scum bag operators and if a service comes via them avoid it. If there was a -100 they would get it. The worst of all of my reviews. Ever.

I am deeply disappointed with Telegram’s handling of my reports regarding child sexual abuse material depicting me when I was 17 years old.

Over an extended period, I submitted numerous reports through Telegram’s official reporting channels and provided all available information to help identify and remove the illegal content. Despite these repeated reports, I either received no meaningful response or no response at all, while the reported material remained accessible.

Every day that this content stays online increases the risk of further distribution, repeated victimization, and continued violations of the privacy and dignity of the victim.

Telegram’s forwarding features, channels, groups, and file-sharing capabilities can allow illegal content to spread rapidly if reports are not addressed promptly. For this reason, I expected a much faster and more transparent response to an issue involving the protection of a minor.

I hope Telegram significantly improves its Trust & Safety processes by responding more effectively to reports involving child sexual abuse material, providing timely communication with victims, and taking swift action to remove illegal content and prevent its further distribution.

My purpose in writing this review is to encourage Telegram to strengthen its response to child safety reports and ensure that victims receive the urgent attention and support such cases require.

Telegram has not responded to my emails. Despite sending multiple messages to their official reporting addresses, I have received no reply and no meaningful communication regarding my reports.
