Website and app are overrun with ads and promotions. Website AI customer support is completely inept. Getting in contact with an actual person took about 20 minutes. Once in contact with a human they were unable to resolve my issue after spending 25 more minutes on the line with them.
I have been using pay pal for a number…
I have been using pay pal for a number of years, I had been looking forward to buying theatre tickets in the west end for my daughter s birthday. I have not been late with any of my pay in 3 plans , nor am i behind with any other bills. Yesterday they said I had a £1000 credit limit. Today when I put through £360 to pay in 3 it declined me. Now they won’t offer me pay in 3 for roughly eight weeks ( they have done this before) usually when I need Christmas presents. I cannot understand when nothing has changed in 24 hours, they subject me to a decline on a special occasion when I have not defaulted on one payment.
I did not receive the refund.
I received a refund from an accountant. A few week later PayPal refused the refund and submitted the amount of $514.80 to my credit card without authorization. I have worked with PayPal for six months trying to have this money refunded. The refuse the refund and have had several reasons for their action.

ridiculous.
I have contacted support and still waiting for the appeal to be processed
It’s trash
It’s trash. Used to be you could find all kinds of things to buy and pretty easily. I opened an account to try and shop and all there was is options to open crypto accounts and things like that which I’m not interested in! Trying their search and it kept taking me back to open accounts or send money. I wasn’t there to do ANY of that! Just wanted to shop and they made it ridiculously difficult to do that. I don’t want a financial app to send $ or whatever I have my bank for that! Overall they SUCK! After about 10 minutes I closed my account as it’s not worth my time.

Account randomly got limited while I was trying to pay a contractor — no warning, no explanation, just frozen. Spent two days going in circles with their chatbot before a human actually looked at it. For a payment service that's pretty unacceptable.
Unable to Resolve customer complaint on PayPal
Paypal recieved a complaint from a customer, I tried multiple times to resolve the complaint, leaving a message for the client and trying to refund the money to the client. The website would not allow me to transfer money back to PayPal to resolve the complaint until such time that they closed the complaint in the clients favor without allowing me to explain my part of the story. Now its taking about 10 days for the money they took from my bank to be credited to the PayPal account. in short making interest money on my money and also charging me another fee, without allowing me to dispute/answer the client complaint. I contacted their tech / online chat several times to try and resolve the inability to return the money and leave a response to the client. In short, They Steal money, do not allow for fair interections on complaints and then take 10 business day to process money so as to maximize their profits! Once I resolve this transaction with them I will be closing my account with them, due to their dismal service, and lack of technical support being able to resolve problems aside from giving scripted answers to real technical issues!
They are a terrible service and should be investigated by the FTC for unfair practices.
Käuferschutz - Betrüger gewinnt
Screenshots and additional evidence made absolutely no difference. PayPal still decided in favor of the scammer. I have never been this frustrated and disappointed. After this experience, I will be closing my account. Absolutely disgraceful.
Generally given good service.

Terribly disappointed by their services. The surprising factor is they are known in this business, perhaps that where all the heavy fee they charge is being utilised. If you are in the UK avoid them at all costs.
Poor handling of disputes
I had an issue with a vendor and was chardged for something I shouldn't have been. I resolved the issue with the vendor but PayPal's response was disturbing. They didn't even try to resolve the matter and just emailed "Based on our review, we found this transaction is consistent with your PayPal transaction history." Even thoough it wasn't.
⭐ **One of the Most Disappointing…
⭐ **One of the Most Disappointing Customer Experiences I Have Ever Had – PayPal**
I have been waiting more than 180 days to access my own money, following the holding period established by PayPal. After completing that waiting period, I received an official email from PayPal confirming that my funds were finally available for withdrawal.
However, when I tried to withdraw my money, I discovered that my account restrictions were still active due to an alleged internal system issue.
What makes this experience even worse is PayPal's terrible customer service. I have contacted support multiple times, and every representative gives me a different answer: first 24 hours, then 48 hours, and now 3–5 business days. One representative even explained that contacting customer support again could send my case back to the end of the review queue.
Seriously? Am I being penalized for trying to get access to my own money?
Previous agents have closed my chats without providing a resolution. I have had to explain my situation repeatedly, and nobody seems willing to take responsibility.
How can a company send an official email confirming that funds are available for withdrawal while simultaneously preventing the customer from actually withdrawing them?
**More than 180 days of waiting, multiple support conversations, contradictory explanations, and still no access to my own funds.**
PayPal may be a globally recognized payment platform, but my experience has been absolutely unacceptable. A company handling people's money should provide transparency, accountability, and effective customer support.
I genuinely cannot recommend PayPal based on this experience. If you ever encounter an account limitation, be prepared for a frustrating process with no clear answers and no guaranteed resolution.
PayPal
PayPal. You really screwed me over. I requested a few refunds for items I cancelled but didn't get my money back. Because of this you deactivated my account and you cancelled my automatic payment for Hoilday that I was paying off monthly. Payment is none refundable and because of you I lost €800. Your really had to mess me up.
Always side with scammers
Always side with scammers . Sent them various emails regarding s company which I paid for items using Paypal. Sent them emails to prove the scam and it was declined. Paypal are useless its easier just to decline any disputes and allow the scammers to take money off people

I’ve used PayPal for almost 10 years with zero issues, zero chargebacks, zero disputes — a perfectly clean record. We have a regular customer we’ve traded with on this exact platform for seven years — same account, same person, no problems at all.
Recently when they paid, PayPal froze the payment and demanded every document imaginable for a full review. I provided everything immediately, the customer already had their item — and eventually PayPal confirmed everything was perfectly in order. Then… they just put all the funds into reserve anyway — anywhere from 30 to 60+ days, no clear answer.
It’s devastating for small businesses. We’ve sent the goods, the customer is happy, we’ve passed their checks — and still we’re locked out of our own money for months. It feels like endless hoops to jump through just to access what’s ours. There’s no accountability, no clarity, and no consideration for long-term, trustworthy sellers.
With a 1.2-star rating here, it’s obvious I’m far from alone. Financial services should support businesses, not hold our capital hostage after we’ve already done everything right. Deeply disappointed and increasingly unsustainable for small traders.
A Fundraising Campaign for My Son's Surgery Turned Into a Heartbreaking Experience With PayPal
I never expected that using PayPal to receive donations for my son's urgent medical operation would turn into such a stressful and heartbreaking experience.
I started a fundraising campaign through GoGetFunding because my son needed urgent surgery. The money received came from donations made by my co-workers who genuinely wanted to help us during a difficult time. These were not payments for products or services, and I was not operating a business through these transactions.
Unfortunately, PayPal flagged the payments as Goods and Services transactions and requested business-related documents. I explained the circumstances, submitted the documents I had available, and provided a written explanation detailing the source and purpose of the funds.
Despite my efforts to cooperate, PayPal permanently deactivated my account and informed me that my remaining funds would be held for up to 180 days.
I contacted customer support multiple times, hoping someone would understand the urgency of the situation. Unfortunately, most of the responses felt generic, and I struggled to get a clear explanation or a meaningful resolution. I eventually escalated the matter to the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), hoping for assistance.
After approximately three months, PayPal's Global Customer Complaints & Advocacy team contacted me and requested additional identification and a billing statement. I submitted everything they asked for, believing that my case might finally be resolved.
However, a few days later, my account was permanently deactivated again. This time, PayPal cited an alleged unresolved issue involving another account associated with me. What frustrated me most was that I was not given a clear explanation of what the issue was, which transaction was involved, or what I could do to resolve it.
By then, the funds had already been inaccessible for months, and the 180-day holding period offered little comfort given the urgency of our circumstances.
**PayPal, this was never about making money. This was about trying to save my son's life.**
Behind every transaction, there is sometimes a real person, a family, and a situation that cannot simply wait for 180 days.
I understand that payment platforms need security measures and compliance procedures. However, I believe there should also be room for proper investigation, transparency, empathy, and meaningful human support, especially when customers provide explanations and cooperate with document requests.
I am sharing this experience not to ask for sympathy, but to warn others who may consider using PayPal to receive donations for urgent personal or medical needs. Please understand the potential risks and make sure you have alternative ways to receive funds.
I sincerely hope PayPal improves how it handles situations like this so that no other family has to go through the same experience.

PayPal Protection is FRAUDULENT!
Buyer BEWARE! I used PayPal to purchase 9 PedEgg replacement blades from TVTimeDirect for $36.90. TVTimeDirect item title and description stated specifically that the blades were to be used for the PedEggs. The blades didn't fit-not even close. When I contacted TVTimeDirect, they said that I could return them at my cost. I replied that they used false advertising and are responsible to make it right. They blew me off. I asked PayPal to intervene. I sent photos showing that the blades didn't fit length-wise or width-wise. I specified the differences in size between the correct blades and the replacements sent to me. I sent photos of the advertisement showing clearly that they claimed that they were for the PedEgg. PayPal denied my claim stating that "if an item is materially similar to the seller's description, we do not consider it to be significantly not as described." The ad was replacement blades for PedEgg. They don't fit. How is that "materially similar"?
