Our centre and staff in Wakefield have over 30 years experience in the training industry. Our specialist training facility in Wakefield is outfitted with bespoke gas and power workshops to help develop both practical skills and present learners with a wide range of scenarios that they may be faced with when working out in the field. This is encapsulated most in our indoor street aptly named the ‘Electric Avenue’. We also have a number of classrooms use for theory based learning and assessments. The courses we offer are designed to be industry relevant to make sure every learner completes their time at Universal Skills Group with the skills and knowledge to enter the workplace or self employment fully equipped. We are constantly evolving our offering to keep pace with the energy sector and emerging technology.

Really enjoyed my CT metering upskill

Really enjoyed my CT metering upskill, had alot of fun with Micheal cottyn, I appreciate the style in which he teaches he answers any queries we'll and helps you understand, he has a proactive approach to teaching, I would 100% recommend universal skills best place I've been to

I have really enjoyed my time at…

I have really enjoyed my time at universal skills my tutor Michael was very good at explaining everything and being there to support our class. Everyone who works at universal skills are friendly and are all willing to help I always felt someone was around to answer any questions and I felt as if everyone wanted to do to well overall great experience.

Massive help also from Mike Campbell, Adam and Matt during the apprenticeship so huge thanks to them also.

When I started the course I felt a…

When I started the course I felt a touch overwhelmed, but thanks to the staff here at the centre after completing the course and pass my certifications, I feel ready to tackle my job.
Michael Cottyn has been a great tutor, and was ably assisted by Adam and Mike.
Staff have been friendly and attentive to our needs.

The centre is well organised and very clean and friendly. My tutor was michael cottyn. He was always very professional and helped me get to where i need to be ready for my exams. Very polite and made me feel welcome from day one. He never once judged me. Top man! The other trainers adam and mike cambell were just as good! They was always checking in how we are getting on and was willing to help and answer anthing that was needed. Thank you !

Very good training center where I have…

Very good training center where I have done my gas and electric metering apprenticeship. The staff here are great with the teaching making everything very accessible and easy to learn. I had Mike Campbell as a tutor and he went above and beyond to make sure we all understood everything and everyone's opinion could be heard. Tutors Adam and Matt G had us for assessments and were very fair.
