New to Tailfin but glad i chose them
I'm new to Tailfin i narrowed down my options to two brands in the end i decided to go with Tailfin and the only reason i decided on Tailfin is due to the rubber straps.
I recently purchased a Trek Procaliber i mainly ride country roads therefore I've been creating the ultimate configuration from fast rolling tyres to bottle layout and bag but wanted a bag that just fits everything in nothing to big for my simple things for emergencies i.e pump, patches, plasters, levers ect ect.
And the great thing about the bag first of all the quality is incredible but there's a small flap so if i wanted a power bank for my Wahoo computer then i can,
The Tailfin range is pretty impressive you could easily tour a country for a couple of weeks with a tent if you get a epic bag configuration because you can put bags everywhere.
My next Tailfin purchase is going to be the HydroMount as i said above i purchased a Trek Procaliber so the frame is narrow only fitting a 750ml and 450ml fidlock but the Tailfin HydroMount will give me the ability to use my 590ml fidlock which does fit in the frame in place of the 450ml but is a tight fit so the HydroMount will solve that issue for longer rides giving me a total of 1,790ml of liquids.
great products and customer service
Excellent products and excellent…
Excellent products and excellent customer service from the whole team in helping me out with a small issue with my order. Very satisfactory.
Title Title: Overpriced and unpractical for real bikepacking – had to rebuild it completely
Title: Overpriced and unpractical for real bikepacking – had to rebuild it completely
I am writing this review after more than 10,000 kilometers of hardcore bikepacking with the Tailfin system. Every few thousand kilometers, I discovered another major "no-go" flaw in this design and was forced to modify it. Today, my setup can no longer be identified as a Tailfin product. It has become a custom home-build—only two original Tailfin parts are even left on my bike. This setup is heavily marketed to serious cyclists, but the reality in the field is a total letdown.
The bag quality is completely insufficient for rough use. After just a short period, the top bag already showed severe scuff marks and tears simply from the regular folding and rolling process. On top of that, the design is highly unpractical: the bag sits way too high, blocking your mounting/dismounting, and it forces a massive saddle pillar extension. Unless you have 30–40 cm of seatpost exposure, you end up with a half-empty bag. It also completely failed to live up to its tire clearance promises on my 29+ setup, rubbing against my 3" Maxxis and Surly tires until I had to custom-build my own extension adapters.
What makes it worse is the customer service and spare parts policy. Crucial small components (like the fast-release bushings/rubbers that wear out over time) are constantly out of stock, especially during prime cycling season. Instead of letting you replace cheap wear-and-tear parts, you are practically forced to buy entire expensive kits. To top it off, they have now removed PayPal as a payment option, making the checkout even more frustrating for international customers.
I have completely given up on ordering anything else from them. I skipped my current spare parts order and am currently rebuilding the fast-click mechanism into a permanent, sturdily bolted system myself to finally make this rack expedition-proof.
Conclusion: Tailfin is perfectly fine for casual road cyclists who just want to carry a sandwich and a light rain jacket. For real bikepackers and pros on rugged trails, it is an absolute no-go. Save your money and build something reliable yourself.
P.S. Always test first, then write a review!

Had an issue with the order
Had an issue with the order. Nobody responded to two inquiries. I did get an automated response asking if I was happy with the email response they never sent. Looks like they removed any human contact option a purchased the cheapest AI bot possible. Lots of other bags out there with better service.
The company knows what its customers want and takes care of them
The quality and the fact that they’ve proven themselves in practice are brilliant. Great products and service. Unfortunately, they’re not exactly cheap, but you won’t regret choosing their products.
Excellent Products
I purchased a very high end Orbea hardtail 29'er. I need a rack and accessories and went with Tailfin. Although quite expensive, the quality was excellent and the design was great. I highly recommend their products - designed for cyclist by cyclist.
FIT AND FORGET - BRILLIANT PRODUCTS
Ive been using Tailfin products since 2022 where they helped me out on an amazing ride across France and Germany (see rapidrich.co.uk) and all I can say is that they are amazing.
But its not just the quality, the functionality or the durability of their products .... its the way that they have used their Reseach and Development Riders across the world to iron out any issues and make small but important tweeks to the initial designs which makes the 'usability' to the likes of you and I so brilliant.
Each product has options, each product does different jobs, but equally they are all so versatile.
Many of us have more than one bike and my tip to get the most use out of my Tailfin products is to fit a Tailfin rear axle to each bike - that way - wherever I go, whatever I am riding - MTB, Gravel or even Road, I can just instantly throw my Rear Rack or panniers or any combination on.
In my opinion, they think of everything and one thing you don't need on Bike Packing trips is anything else to worry about or your bags moving about. Great products and great Customer Service too.
Rapid Rich.
Tailfin stuff is expensive but worth every GBP
Tailfin stuff is expensive, but this is the only negative I can say about it. My cargo tailfin was a game changer, first for the Northcape4000 and this year the TCRNo12!
Give all yr money away
This shit rules. I have had the top tube bag and frame bag for a year now. (sold the fork packs, because who needs em?) It all rules. Clean and thoughtful design, durable, waterproof, AND it even looks cool. Or at least I think so.
No bullshit, if I need anymore bike packing gear. I will look at Tailfin first.
Yeah... It's a "few" extra bucks, but I feel like it makes a difference.
Also, Tailfin you got my email, feel free to send me some free shit. 🙃
I am a first buyer of the AeroPack…
I am a first buyer of the AeroPack alloy. Use these on my Cube mountain bike during long bike rides and holidays. The quick placement and removal is really great. Unfortunately, in 2025 Extended Top Stay broke down. However, to my surprise, this was still within the warranty, very nice to experience this kind of service. So another nice cycling holiday through the Benelux. Thanks for everything and good luck with your great products.
Daily user of the CargoPack
Daily user of the CargoPack, the one an only thing that survived for 5 years on my bike, even my bikeframe broke down before the rack. Also Kudos for the aftersales for the accurate delivery of spare parts. I even bought a second CargoPack.
Amazing products across the board
Amazing products across the board. Have the old version of the Aeropack, 10L pannier, bar bag, frame bag and top tube bag. All works flawlessly. I had an issue with one part over a year ago, and got a replacement shipped immediately free of charge, so their customer support is on point as well. Would recommend.
Absolutely brilliant – premium quality that is worth every penny!
The delivery of the AP18 / AeroPack Cargo was super fast. The product itself is amazing and clearly thought out down to the smallest detail: it is completely waterproof, and that annoying tail-wag (sway) is finally a thing of the past. Customer service was also outstanding, helping me out with all my questions both before and after the purchase. It has its price, but if you want uncompromised premium quality, this is definitely worth it. Highly recommended!
Great bags
Great bags, great service, built to last. Survived multiple training runs and the 2024 tour divide and still works like new.
Another purchase by long term Tailfin owner
Recently purchased an alloy pannier rack and bag for my Kinesis ATR. Very pleased with my purchase, I had some initial queries before purchase which were answered quickly, accurately, and included photos to show clearance which was my primary concern.
I've been a long term customer of Tailfin and have no hesitation recommending on customer service and product quality.
My wife and I both cycle commute using tailfin racks and pannier bags.
Great products, great service
Great products, withe the experience from long distance bike racers. Great service in case of a problem.
The scope of luggage is just so cool…
The scope of luggage is just so cool and growing with time. Both he website and instructional videos make choose the right bag ease. The bags are lightweight but pretty damn durable (including crash proven). Go tailfin
Best bikepacking bags ever made
Best bikepacking bags ever made! Great quality, well-thought-out solutions. True attention to details.
Top quality
Fixing the the wedge frame bag is straightforward. Easily removed, although I have kept it on the bike at all times since I purchased it 18 months ago as it is so useful. The fitting is so secure I don't worry about it moving as it has never budged when riding off-ride. Quite simply top quality.
