I was looking for a great fun bike, electrically assisted, that looked great, worked outstandingly well, that I could fold up and use occasionally on the train for my commute in London and also to fit in the back of my car so I can take it to places for leisure cycling. I also wanted something that would make me look cool!! It also needed to be through the Bike2work scheme. Well, I found Hygge bikes through the great reviews online, and YouTube videos and fan pages on social media. Identified where I could buy through Bike2work and plumped for Hygge Bikes direct. I had a couple of things I was unclear about - many questions and also a request to see the thing in the flesh before I bought one. Step up Hygge Customer Services and Andrea in particular. She was incredibly helpful before I bought, explaining where I could see the bikes and how I could organise a test-ride (I popped along to Decathlon and caused terror by riding one round the shop..) and then I bought one from Hygge Bikes directly. Again, 'cos I'm a pain, I had several more questions and add-ons I wanted to buy. Hygge customer service were again excellent, speedy to respond and in a really friendly but professional way. Helpful, approachable and resolved my questions or concerns at the first time of asking. I've now had the bike (Vester) for a couple of weeks and it makes me smile to look at it, and even more when I ride it. Overall, the experience of buying the bike was greatly enhanced by Andrea at Customer Service, and her ongoing support and advice has been most welcome. I'd thoroughly recommend this bike based on my experience, and hats off to the Customer Service team! Thankyou :)

Ordered my Vester online through Hygge Bikes uk, I live in Channel Islands so the invoice came without Vat. The bike comes boxed and is reasonably easy to set up. Overall I am very pleased with the bike and the customer service especially Andrea who organised the sale and delivery and kept me informed every step of the way, it took about a week from start to finish, the delivery company were top class.

Overall, the Virum is an OK bike, but not more than that.
1) the charger comes with a UK plug and an adapter. It works, but for 1700 EUR it’s just not right to ship without matching plugs to the delivery region.
2) the left grip on the handlebar was not glued properly so the material keeps slipping.
3) it has the most annoying port for charging. The engineering decision behind using a three pin system and not a single one is baffling.
4) the battery connector underneath has the same pin and is a monumental hassle to lock in place.
5) very loud in the tallest gear and does not like gear 5 at all, keeps throwing the chain to a lower sprocket or completely off.
I found nothing positive to differentiate this bike from Chinese competitors. I have one and see them operating side by side every day. The price difference is not justified by build quality or other features.

I have the Virum folding bike and it’s great! It has plenty of power, and is equipped with everything I might need. I use it on our sailing yacht as a bike to discover places and is small enough to fit on the boat. Very happy with the bike, good value for money.

This is quite a long review for which I make no apology. I ordered and paid for my Hygge Virum Stepthrough folding e-bike several weeks before a motorhome European tour of nine weeks I was going on with my wife. I was given a delivery date well before we were due to go but unfortunately due to reasons outside of Hygge’s control it became obvious that my bike was not going to arrive in time for our trip. I decided to cancel the order so I could buy another brand that could get me delivery in time. Hygge completely understood and said it was no problem refunding my money but would I consider the following first:-
- they would immediately send me a second hand bike the same model I had ordered so I could take it on my trip
- on my return I was to contact them and they would courier my new bike to my door and pick up the second hand bike I had be using for my holiday
- as a gesture of good will they would give me a few extras which would come with my new bike.
I immediately agreed to the above and the second hand (almost new) bike arrived well in time for my holiday. On my return I called Hygge and my new bike along with several extras arrived within three days and the old one was collected a few days later.
Andrea was my contact at Hygge and she could not have been more helpful. The bike is high quality and I am delighted with it but quite honestly I am amazed at the high level of service I have received from Hygge. Clearly they want to do their utmost for their customers and they are going over and above what I have ever experienced before. Thank you Andrea and thank you Hygge.

Well what can I say. Just received two Hygge Vester step through bikes. They are AMAZING. Build quality is great and ride quality is great. We went for the upgraded suspension seats and are also great. They are foldable which makes them great for taking touring with us. The customer service at the company has been exceptional helping me through the process of choosing the correct bike for us. I cannot recommend the bikes and the company highly enough. Thank you Hygge 😄

I both a Hygge Virum on the 14 of July. I talked with support a couple of times to clear some questions, they were always quite responsive and it was fine.
I got the tracking for the delivery with an estimate date for the 24/7.
Today is 5/8 and I don’t have it yet, neither do I know when they are delivering it, I have asked several time for a time and date and I am not getting any response, not good for a first experience.
I got this bike to commute to work and I had to renew my monthly public transport again because I don’t know when I will get my bike.
Needless to say that in the site mentions 5-6 days for delivery.
At this point and after this frustrating experience I’m not sure I want to keep my bike.

I purchased the Hygge Soro folding e-bike to commute to work and after using the bike to cycle to work for the first time (today) I can honestly say the bike is such a lot of fun and is a real hoot to use. Set up was simple and straightforward and the pedal assist is far better than I expected. The bike came with a complimentary mobile phone carrier, an extremely robust D-lock and thick cable, and a pannier, which is simple to fit and remove. I opted to buy an additional pannier for extra storage. I didn’t think I’d smile as much as I had on the way to work 😂, the bike is fantastic and so simple to use. I noted a strap required to fasten the two wheels together when the bike was folded was not within the packaging. Having spoken with Hygge and explained, they immediately apologised and arranged for a strap to be sent out. I cannot fault the quality of the bike, the speedy delivery, the great communication from Hygge staff and the fantastic Hygge customer service. I thoroughly recommend Hygge bikes to anyone and everyone.

First, the customer service is impecable, ready to help both with spares or advice. The bicycle itself is good quality and I enjoy riding it although it came with the wheels not centered and the spokes making unbearable noise.
All in all a very pleasant experience.

I’ve had my Hygge bike since February, although for health reasons I haven’t been able to use it as much as I’d hoped.
In March I was finally well enough to get out on it a couple of times, and I was genuinely over the moon with the independence it gave me. Looking back, I was probably pushing myself too hard by even getting on a bike, but despite that I was able to ride a couple of miles from home, climb hills I could never have managed on a regular bike, and head off-road into the countryside near where I live.
More than anything, it allowed me to escape into nature. After a major health crisis over Christmas, those quiet rides were incredibly therapeutic and gave me a sense of peace and freedom that I’d been missing.
Unfortunately, from late March until early July my health deteriorated again, so the bike had to stay in the garage. Thankfully I’ve improved, and recently I was finally able to take the Hygge out again for the first time in four months.
I wasn’t disappointed.
Because of my condition I still have to be careful, but the Hygge has given me back a level of independence I thought I’d lost. I can comfortably get into the town centre, ride up to the top of our local nature reserve, or head down to the beach without constantly worrying about getting exhausted or struggling on hills.
It’s given me my independence back while still providing the gentle exercise that’s helping with my rehabilitation.
I spent a long time researching e-bikes before choosing the Hygge, and it ticked almost every box. The motor accelerates quickly and smoothly up to speed, but it still encourages me to pedal, so I feel like I’m getting proper exercise rather than simply being carried along.
One concern I had before buying was the weight, as the Hygge is heavier than many alternatives. In reality, it hasn’t been an issue at all. It climbs hills with very little effort, and the oversized tyres give me the confidence to ride on almost any terrain. The battery has also been excellent. Even after some fairly substantial rides, I’ve rarely seen it drop below 50%, so charging has been far less frequent than I expected.
I also bought the combination lock, phone holder and detachable saddle bag. The bag has been a brilliant addition. It clips off in seconds and can be used as a normal shoulder bag, so I don’t need to wear a backpack while riding, which makes longer rides much more comfortable.
Overall, I’m absolutely delighted with my Hygge. It’s far more than just a bike to me. It’s helped me regain my freedom, spend time outdoors, and become active again after one of the most difficult periods of my life.
I genuinely love it, and I can’t wait to explore even more on it.

I can highly recommend this company as they go the extra mile to help, I received so much help from the office on correcting my error that I made in choice of bike followed by a seamless exchange which I have now received and my son will look forward to his new freedom on a Vestor that he needs at university..thanks so much.

Today I started my ride at the Hippodrome Paris-Vincennes and spent the entire day exploring Paris on my Hygge Vester. From there, I cycled through the city, passing landmarks like Gare d'Austerlitz, Notre-Dame, and the Eiffel Tower before continuing all the way to the Palace of Versailles.
The ride from central Paris to Versailles is quite a distance, but the Hygge Vester made it an absolute pleasure. The bike felt comfortable and stable throughout the day, and the electric assistance made longer sections effortless. Even on Paris' cobblestone streets, the ride remained smooth thanks to the fat tires.
When I arrived at Versailles, it was around 28°C, and the palace was full of visitors enjoying the beautiful weather. Despite the heat and the long distance, I still had plenty of battery left and never had to worry about the range.
The luggage racks were also incredibly practical for carrying my backpack and everything I needed for a full day of sightseeing.
This trip proved that the Hygge Vester is much more than a city bike. It is comfortable, reliable, and perfect for longer adventures. I couldn't have asked for a better companion to explore Paris and Versailles.
Hygge Vester - Highly recommended!

I bought two e-bike from Hygge and each time the customer support was amazing. The bikes are really great so I haven't used the after sales support but believe it will be equally good.
The delivery service was good and they supported with accessories replacement.
