The experience / feature set is not great, but they store the data without any hidden BS, which is why I tried them, so they get a positive review from me. If you just need somewhere to back up your data and forget about it, they are solid. If you want to actually interact with your data regularly, consider something else.
In particular, some significant limitations:
- Cannot see how large a folder is in Archive. I have asked support, this is simply not something they can give you, somehow.
- Can only automatically back up photos and contacts from phone.
- Cannot set priority or method in which to back up folders / devices, it will just scan them sequentially every single time.
I was so stupid to have assumed a certain level of usability and have not checked beforehand. My fault.
Terribly dissapointed by the usability of the tools supplied which lack fundamental functionality.
Jottacloud Client for PC:
- Drive in Explorer only available when syncing a full folder. I cannot only view the content of my cloud and download on demand via explorer
- Selecting and deleting pictures is not possible
- Didn't find (yet) a way to just up- and download random files via the PC client ... or to easily view the content of my cloud in a structured way ... like creating folders, uploading files there etc.
- It seems, all is done either via backup or sync and that is just a very basic and non thought-through approach to Cloud Business in 2026.
Purchased a fully year plan and won't be able to use in a decent way as I was used to from other cloud providers.
As said - my fault, so others beware if you expect similar usability to OneDrive, Dropbox or other cloud providers.
Regretting my purchase.

Reliable backup for both files and photos. I chose Jottacloud mainly for its ability to save and, importantly, display RAW image files but it is also excellent for general computer and phone backups on multiple devices. Good prices, always-on, European company, runs on 100% renewable energy.

I got the "unlimited tier", which caps bandwidth at 5TB, but I haven't even gotten my storage 1/4ths filled - and that's after having backed up all 4 of my systems. Jotta has not only synchronization of files between systems, but backups for each system AND an archive folder for what have you. Not only are the uploads and downloads blazing fast, but the data is stored in Norwegian data centers which has some of toughest privacy laws worldwide. I feel my data is safe and can't think of any other service that delivers this great of a value proposition.

Have been storing almost 8TB with this company for over a year now. Has worked flawlessly on the cloud web-app, my MacBook, my iPad, my iPhone, rclone, and also my Android devices. I am as happy with their service as I could be.

Slow to upload files (not always but most of the times) and errors quite frequently, you have to really follow up.

fast and trustworthy cloud service, so much better than any of the US providers.

Jottacloud is a good alternative for US cloud services as it is using green scandinavia energy. Upload speed a very good. Not so good is the synchonisation speed. Mostly I have to wait if I rename or add a file which is not the case with for example the google drive

I got prompt solution to my issue. The only mishap was dealing with the ai assistant, that kept switching from English to Finnish forcing me to use a translator :)
