It was fine if a little 'clumsy'. Pity we missed notification of policy renewal and had to start a new process all over again. But we have stuck with Esure!

Absolute disgrace

Absolute disgrace, don’t go anywhere near them. Had our car stolen over 12 weeks ago, and they have done everything they can to try to delay and find a way of not paying. Deliberately misleading and delaying. They have finally come up with an offer in week 13, and have knocked £7k off a valuation which is already laughably low. Don’t go anywhere near them

Fully automated and simple

I can’t comment on the service or what a claim would be like but it was via a comparison site so the cheapest with customer ratings which may possibly be based on people like me filling out the auto response “how did I do” I suppose the real test is a claim or how much the auto renewal price and cancellation next year is handled.

Extremely disappointed with how my claim and complaint have been handled

I had an accident last year and tried multiple times to report it, but unfortunately, nothing was logged or progressed. I contacted esure again in April 2026, but once again I heard nothing back. I was eventually contacted by esure in July 2026 regarding the accident, at which point I explained that I had been left with no choice but to sit and wait because nobody had responded to my previous attempts to report it.

esure subsequently paid me £100 in compensation and admitted that they were at fault for failing to log the claim in the first place. I was also explicitly told that I would not be penalised as a result of their error.

Despite this, while I was sitting in the middle of July 2026, I received an automated email stating, “Thank you for making changes to your policy on 1st September 2025,” and was then told that I owed £700, which had to be paid by 31st July 2026, even though my policy does not expire until the end of August.

I immediately contacted esure to make a complaint. I spent approximately 3.5 hours on the phone, repeatedly being told that I needed to speak to specific departments or individuals, only for staff to be unable to transfer me to the correct person. Every time I was transferred, I had to go through the entire security process and explain everything again, only to get nowhere. I also experienced multiple dropped calls and attempted to contact esure by email several times to request a call back, but received no response.

I was eventually contacted by esure, and the call was apparently reviewed. The information I had been given was confirmed — including the fact that I had been told I would not be penalised for their failure to log my claim.

Despite this, I have now received an email stating that my complaint is still being investigated and that I may have to wait up to 8 weeks for a response. It has already been around a month.

The emotional and financial stress and strain this entire situation has caused me has affected me extremely badly. I have spent hours trying to resolve an issue that was caused by esure’s own failure to properly log and handle my claim. I have been passed from department to department, left waiting for responses that never came, and now I am being asked to pay a substantial amount of money despite previously being told I would not be penalised.

I feel completely let down by esure’s handling of this matter and the lack of communication throughout. I sincerely hope this complaint is resolved properly and urgently, because the way this situation has been handled has been completely unacceptable and will be seeking legal advice

Dreadful experience

Dreadful experience. Offered me a reasonable price last year as a new customer, so I moved to them thinking they were a leading insurance company. This year they quoted +55% for my insurance renewal. We know how insurance companies work but I think this insults the intelligence of their customers, and I told them so. When I checked the market, I can actually achieve a lower price than currently with one of the big 3UK insurance companies. I had to contact Esure twice which is extremely difficult and time-consuming with the unfriendly customer process. When I finally spoke to somebody, who was quite pleasant, the best revised price she could give me was about 5% lower than what they had emailed me. So disappointing that they should treat customers in this way. I certainly will not renew with them and based on this experience will probably never use esure again.

Happy with our online Motor insurance experience

Our motor insurance was due for renewal, so we did our usual price comparison for the best prices. Initially we went with Lloyds. However after getting messed about over a shared no claims bonus we looked again. We chose Esure as we've been with them before, and they're price was reasonable. The level of cover was good also. We've immediately got all our documents and no issues.

Great service on the telephone!

Great service when I got through on the phone line to discuss staff discount for Ageas employees. Unfortunately the first site I went to would not recognise the vehicle registration I was trying to insure. A colleague had experienced the same issue and suggested trying another browser but this might have put me off trying again had I not been advised this.

Over 20 months and still not resolved

Over 20 months and still not resolved
I am extremely disappointed with how this claim has been handled.
The incident happened on 22 November 2024. Admiral have confirmed that their driver was at fault, yet I was told they were never even asked to confirm liability and were only contacted about recovering the vehicle damage costs.
Despite this, the claim still has not been properly resolved. My insurance premiums have increased across both my personal and business policies, and I am still waiting for clear written confirmation that my no-claims bonus will be fully reinstated.
The delays, poor communication and failure to deal with liability properly have caused me a great deal of stress and financial impact over a very long period. I have repeatedly asked for answers, but the matter continues to drag on without a satisfactory outcome.
I have also asked for compensation because of the way this has been handled, but I am still waiting for a proper resolution.
I would not recommend this company based on my experience. A straightforward non-fault claim should not take this long to sort out. Unless this is resolved urgently, I will be escalating my complaint to the Financial Ombudsman Service. So you reply on here for me to email i did and yet again ignored point proven. AVOID PEOPLE

Falsified complaint records, stranded vehicles, and absolute incompetence.

If you want an insurer who falsifies complaint outcomes and abandons you, choose Esure.

After my original review detailing how Esure's chaotic supply chain (V Mobility) tried to charge me a £1,000 excess for a non-fault accident, their Complaints Team finally called. The handler, Bryan, was completely useless and simply told me I had to deal with the third-party claims companies myself!

Worse, Esure then sent me an automated email falsely stating: "Thank you for confirming you accept the outcome... your complaint is resolved." I categorically did not accept the outcome. Falsifying complaint resolutions to hit internal targets is a severe breach of FCA regulations, and I am reporting this directly to the Financial Ombudsman (FOS).

The incompetence is staggering:

My original car is held hostage: My car was hit while parked on 25 June. The garage said it would be ready last week, but it’s just sitting there because Esure’s engineers still haven't bothered to authorise the repair work.

Complete supplier chaos: Because the replacement hire car was hit (non-fault), Esure told Enterprise to bring me a new one. Enterprise called me to say they can't do that because Esure originally outsourced me to a credit hire firm. Esure doesn't even understand its own supply chain.

Harassment: I am now getting calls from repairers (ABL Croydon) asking ME to authorise repairs on a hire car I don't even own, because Esure won't manage their own suppliers.

You pay an insurer to manage a claim. Esure outsources it, washes their hands of it, fakes the complaint resolution, and tells the customer to act as their own claims manager. An absolute disgrace of a company.
